RE: RL Anger
Which? Totally legit.
We had specific rules when I worked there since we did serve food/alcohol. So it was 'only service animals allowed' - hence having to ask.But you do get those people now who, for some reason, like @Admiral's story, think it's OK to just claim any animal is a service animal and screech about it.
Those people are hella lame.

@Admiral
Man, fuck that noise.
When I worked at the bowling alley, a girl came in once with a little dog. I asked. She said it was a service dog for seizures, happily (& promptly!) showed documentation.She became a regular. And one day? That dog did provide advance warning for a seizure that allowed her friends to call an ambulance for.
So fuck people that try to abuse that shit.

RE: RL Anger
@Auspice There are many many examples that one could find of this. That was rather a public one. So was the one where students who were Classics majors protested learning Ovid's Metamorphosis because it had rape in it. Guess what ... you're a Classics major. Deal. I'm a rape victim. I studied Classics. I dealt. If you can't deal, find something else.
its the many instances that don't get reported, that are ignored by the media and just allowed to happen with no fanfare. For every instance like that you see in a journal, there are a hundred more happening elsewhere.
Then there's the ridiculous cases...
The janitor at Purdue who was fired for 'racial insensitivity' for reading 'Notre Dame vs. the Klan: How the Fighting Irish Defeated the Ku Klux Klan' on a break.
Someone felt it was racist that he was reading a book that mentioned the KKK.
Thankfully he, uh, got his job back and an apology, but yeah. Gotta love those knee-jerk reactions.

RE: RL Anger
And this is where I sort of want alternate terms for stuff like PTSD.
Because I get where things totally suck for someone, but there are also scales of extremes. Such as your example. What you experience versus what a kid on a campus does is just realms apart. A girl being so caught up in a story that she walks in front of someone else without realizing it is not a microaggressions, despite how much these kids have convinced themselves that it is. The things you've experienced are.

Also to throw this out there, I've very rarely ever needed to refer to someone by their race. What context are you all (ambiguous term) running into this that it's becoming such a big issue that you can't just /not/ call someone an Asian?
Mostly, they like to be called their names.
I'm actually with you here ... unfortunately young students today define themselves more by their various identities than their names. That's not hyperbole.
Gotta get that privilege bingo.

I just got to reference the Wheel of Morality on a conference call...

RE: RL Anger
I wish we could come up with new terms for different types of PTSD.
I have suffered from two types. Emotional PTSD and something closer to what we think of with combat vets ('physical' PTSD? I don't know; I described the sensations with it to a combat vet once and he said it's almost exactly what he's experienced).
The two aren't the same. But we use the same term. And I think that's part of the problem.
They're no less valid, they are no less difficult to live with, but they are very different.

All I'm trying to say is that on the one hand, MSB encourages stricter, tighter staffing... but then is quick (I should say 'was quick', in the WORA days) to roast a staff for doing just that. Let's just take that into account in the conversation here, as I feel it is relevant.
MSB != WORA
WORA was much more... pack of wolves vs. the vultures of MSB. People here tend to wait longer, watch for more, before going in for the strike. On WORA it was immediate and for any scrap or reason they could get.
I think your ex may have been part of why they went for the kill in that case? as they often went for any reason they could (deserved and not) to go after her. So there was association there also.

@Arkandel I'm tempted to read the book after episode 4, but I've already read that they made some changes between the show and the book.
Read the book.
Read it.

And here I thought you'd just latch onto the 'boobs' part and glaze over the rest.

Can I be your friend? If I'm your friend, do I get to hangout and TT? Well.. virtually..
Theoretically? Tho he's condensing the group majorly for the next campaign. The Changeling (Dreaming) game just ended much, much earlier than intended. He had way too big a group. He couldn't handle us all (there were about 8? people). His next game (V:tM) is about four of us.
He's a pretty fantastic ST tho. Good story and he manages to balance out making people feel 'special' in unexpected ways. In the last V:tM game, my character went the entire game without anything unique ever happening to her... until the very end, when it turned out she was kind of vitally important to things all along. Whereas throughout the rest of the game, everyone else got to do special/cool things at almost every turn, so it sort of balanced out. Like they got to be cool or in the spotlight on a regular basis, whereas I got to do a more big/cool one-time thing overall.
