RE: Good TV
I've been binging Mr Robot.
@eye8urcake I see and now finally understand your signature.
I'm kind of shocked they actually allowed this show on network television at all given it's so shamelessly anti-capitalist.
(I love that I watch it on Amazon)
I need to catch up on it tbb -

It's 100% why I like ersatz as a word. It's just fun to say.
But my favorite word is (not surprising anyone) auspice. I like the sound of it. I like the letter makeup of it. I like the definition. It was 'favorite word' before I'd ever played WoD.

IDK why, it's just great.
it has great cadence. Just the shape of the sounds are good.

RE: The Work Thread
@Aria I dealt with this years ago at Clear Channel.
A lady and I had the same job title, but completely different duties. However. She was due to be out for a surgery and they asked her to give me some basics so I could help cover for her while she was gone.
I told her hey, let me know the best day to sit down with you (since we were both v busy)..... A day later my boss comes down on me "She says you're refusing to learn the tasks."
Uh, no.
Week later, she stops by my office: "Oh hey the order for the new machines came in but I see you have your migraine sign up so I'll handle it!"
Next day, boss,"she said she told you about the shipment and you demanded she take care of it for you!"
I eventually found out she'd been laid off once and was terrified they were gonna lay her off.
I didn't even want her job! I had too much to do of my own!

Feeling sort of weepy rn.
My coworker who throws pottery made me a mug as a going away gift. -
RE: The Work Thread
@Aria that is another reason I love working where I do.
I've never worked somewhere where the women are so inviting and supportive of each other.
I hate how struggling to establish ourselves as equals in the workplace has turned so many women against each other. It's made me miserable in past jobs.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
I will....consider doctor if it doesn't improve over the weekend with all the rain (since that'll clear up allergens)
ETA: I just really can't afford a doctor.
$140 for the visit plus however much any tests might be?

I have no idea what that indicates, but I guess since I have a (brief) contract extension at work I can consider doctor.
IANAD, but... tons of referred pain happens in that area because of how heavily it's innervated. When I get my panic attacks, I get pure heart attack symptoms, because (as far as anyone can tell) my esophagus and/or diaphragm go into spasm, which irritates the nerves in the area and give me the good old crushing sensation radiating outwards.
Go to the doctor, but, speaking as a well-practiced hypochondriac, try not to freak out about it.
Well that's part of why I HAVEN'T been freaking out. I get the same, from stress. Have had two ER visits for it over the years.
But this feels different so I dunno.... Like THOSE are a sharp pain right above where my heart is that makes it hard to even remember to breathe and they go away if I relax.
This is much lower, in my lower ribs, and isn't a persistent pain. It only happens when (and not always) I take a deep breath. So I'm like.... maybe it's just allergies and it'll clear up once cedar season is over. Or maybe it's just a new stress manifestation.
I'm just..... I can't really afford to go to the doctor and get some sort of 'it's just leftover from your cold' or worse, a: 'this is because you're fat' diagnosis.

I know y'all are just being caring and supportive but I think I'm reaching a point of 'all the above freak me out' so I appreciate it but I need to spend some more time just telling myself it's just a weird response to cedar pollen.
Legitimately my first thought was costochondritis or some other inflammation of the muscles. You probably pulled something from coughing or sneezing. It is very unlikely to be something serious, but it's good to go to the doctor for your peace of mind.
I've been paying more mind to it today for symptom reasons and...
the hitch-pain starts under my lower ribs on my left side, then travels up until I feel it in my shoulders and throat. I have no idea what that indicates, but I guess since I have a (brief) contract extension at work I can consider doctor.

I guess that's my general problem, I feel I have "weird hours". I can be around for web stuff most any time. For in-person scenes my best times are Sunday nights, Mondays any time, and Tuesdays any time. Sundays during the day and Saturday may be spotty but doable.
I can do Sundays no problem.
And we're also debuting some methodology inspired by 'actions' from Arx (and also in use on Ithir) for people who can't be around during the Staff-run scenes since we have a few Euro and Aussie players.Additionally, I've had success running longer-term gate trips via portal where people are expected to pose roughly once a day.

RE: StargateMUSH
For those who play or are considering playing: what days / time of day works best for scenes for you?
I know I can't find the perfect time to satisfy everyone, but... if I can find a general window I'm gonna schedule the first +event for season 2 next week (and a vignette leading into it should go up this weekend if all goes according to plan).

Realizing in my (coughcough) not youth, that I sort of dig the goth/emo makeup look on myself. I never tried it because I was told I was too bubbly IRL to pull it off, etc. So I never did. I tried the first time this literal year (hello 2020) and I dig the look.
what do those people not know about Perky Goths?!
Do you even need to link to the page when an image of Elvira is enough?
