@Cobaltasaurus you can model my incredibly large and intricate dildos at the town center.

RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
@Cobaltasaurus OK I'm down but no TS, I'm only going to play to hunt the dickcows and craft dildos.

@HelloProject I'm gonna strongly disagree. My Stardew Dick Valley game does not need tentacles, pls keep your tentacles away.
@Bliss can you please ensure that all PRPs are solved by how well you fuck the monster?

RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
This survey was great and now all I can think about is an erotic RP MU* where I can farm dick cows and craft lingerie.

RE: Gray Harbor Discussion
Thanks @Grim for being willing to take this over for us! Good luck and have all the fun!!
I want to second @krmbm's shout out to @Pyrephox. You are a Grade A player, my friend!

RE: Gauging Interest
@Botulism said in Gauging Interest:
whereas all the original-theme stories I ran were CONSTANT floods of questions on the most random and tedious of things
lol I feel you, I feel you SO hard.

RE: Gauging Interest
I really think you could achieve the same "feel" without having anything Who specific but that's just my opinion.
I tend to stay away from existing IP games, mostly because they tend to fill quick with super fans who look down their noses if you get even one thing remotely wrong. It's why I will never play a Star Trek game even though I love Star Trek, or a Xanth game even though I love Xanth.

RE: Gauging Interest
I was just talking to @krmbm about how I'd love a game set in a Sliders universe but wow is it too much work. I don't like the "Kid in King Arthur's Court" sort of situation where it's just bumbling out-of-time idiots, but I do love this idea of playing a medieval fantasy for a month and then playing cowboys the next.
I don't think I'd particularly like to play in the Whoniverse world if only because I'm a super casual Who-er who really stopped after the David Tennant episodes? But the CONCEPT is super cool if you take out the specific Who-themes that non-fans wouldn't understand.
Except you can leave the Daeleks.

RE: Horror MUX - Discussion
@Botulism I don't know who they played on Horror, sorry But I know the one person I did talk to about it always spoke really highly about you!
I think the only "barrier to entry" would be the between-seasons play. I know there were a few people who brought that up as a sticking point and it's definitely been one of those things where I've considered playing The Network but I dislike the idea of "starting fresh" every new season and having to contrive reasons to know my RL friends or the connections I've already established ICly. I don't have any good ideas on how that could be done better or anything so it's really just a mild complaint.
As someone who plays a concept for 2-3 months and moves on to the next hotness, the episodic nature of HorrorMu was very intriguing to me.

RE: Horror MUX - Discussion
@Botulism I know them from another game and I believe they were both horrormu players but I don't know if they use MSB.

RE: Evennia (Arx) webclient feedback
The dropping connection thing is a big issue. Even if my phone screen went black/rest, I'd lose my connection to the game.
-
RE: Horror MUX - Discussion
@Botulism I think if you look at the way the Network is doing it, it's VERY similiar to how you had HorrorMu set up. You have your "basic" character sheet and then you design a character for each of the episodes that have traits (which are on the wiki page, rather than on the in-game +sheet).
https://thenetwork.mugames.org/
You could presumably just turn off sheets altogether.
I wanted to play and would definitely play if you brought it back

RE: Moon River MUSH
Tattooed boy & tattooed girl are REALLY common on small town modern day MUSHes, so I wouldn't jump to conclusions on PBs alone. Having played Stranger than Fiction and been on the 'receiving end' of that weirdness, I am pretty sure it's not the same people lol

RE: Good TV
@Roz I loved CXG and was super hopeful that Zoey's would take it's place.
It didn't. At all. I miss CXG

RE: Preference for IC Time On A Modern(ish) Game
@Seraphim73 So yeah I mean I'm not arguing that people find it easier when the game's 1:1 and time moves at a slower rate. I live in a place where it's summer 9 months out of the year so I guess I never really struggle with the RL weather matching up with my IC weather. But I still do think there has to be some give or take because our MUSH life moves WAY faster than real life ever does. It's why I always felt a 1:1.5 rate was the best solution for everyone, because time moves JUST FAST ENOUGH where progression/relationships make sense but isn't so incredibly disruptive where you could miss a week and end up actually missing an entire month or anything.
I guess at the end of the day, @ZombieGenesis you aren't going to please anyone. I wouldn't go slower than 1:1 and I would PERSONALLY flip the seasons but that's just me. I also would be really hesitant to do time skips, or use them SUPER SPARINGLY, because that can be INCREDIBLY disruptive to people.
-
RE: Preference for IC Time On A Modern(ish) Game
@ZombieGenesis I think that might be getting too detailed for what should be a very simple hand-wavium policy: "The game runs on a 1:1 time ratio with the real world. However, players should not feel constrained by the IC time and can hand-waive the time or date as necessary for RP purposes. All we ask is that you try not to set things too far in the future for the sake of continuity."
-
RE: Preference for IC Time On A Modern(ish) Game
@Lotherio Yeah I mean, regardless of what sort of time structure you're set on, I can't say enough about a "date hand-waive" policy. Like, the expectation that you can only play Christmas ON Christmas, or the birthday ON THE EXACT DATE, is ridiculous and should never be imposed on anybody
-
RE: Preference for IC Time On A Modern(ish) Game
@Roz No I get that, but if it causes anxiety or whatever because you miss a birthday. Like. It's just a game!
