RE: Young Justice / Teen Titans MUX
Also, what's your (the guy thinking about this place)'s stance on, say, Teen Lanterns? You listed Green Lantern (I assume that'll be Kyle Rayner). Would you be adverse to other lanterns as OCs if they logically fit? Or do you feel that's ramping up the power scale too much?

RE: Young Justice / Teen Titans MUX
I feel like the focus should mainly be on the teens and late teens characters, ala the second season of YJ where things like Nightwing were mission control, and you saw a lot more late teen characters.

RE: Young Justice / Teen Titans MUX
Some others to consider...
Spoiler/Stephanie Brown
Bluebird/Harper Rowe
Gypsy
Tye Longshadow (if only because I love the JLU throwback)
Marvin Harris
Wendy Harris
Mas y Menos
Flamebird / Bette Kane
Zan and Jayna / Downpour and Shifter
Kid Eternity
Red Devil / Eddie Bloomberg
Traci Thirteen
Black Alice
Bombshell -

@bored
Well, yeah. I would figure the point of it would be to only allow traditional sidekicks and legacy characters, or characters who are teens like Static, Star Girl or Jesse Quick. -
RE: RL things I love
Working on a project ,and someone releasing an art pack that looks like it'll have all the things you need for your project. EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

That's ultimately what an audition (at least in my history of them) was. I guess 'interview' is a better word. On M3 and Megaman X and BWTMet, we'd have them talk about their application and their views of the character and integration, and often do an 'RP scene' to see what kind of handle they would have on the character in a particular situation. -

Ahh, I see. That's where our disconnect is coming from. That's different from the last couple of comic MU*s I played on, where you did an email app and staff created the PC bit for you and if multiople people can through they adjudicated the 'passing' apps via a secondary (usually audition) process. -
RE: Mutant Genesis (X-Men)
@tempest
Because 'taken' implies already have access to. As in, already been handed out.I've never seen a game with Features that ended up with 'people hating each other/staff' when they don't get a particular FC. And this is from more than a decade of app-based FC heavy MUs as a rule. If you've had this experience on FC-based MUs, I feel bad for your experience with that genre. But that's not how it always is or will be, unless you have entirely unreasonable people.
Yes, first come first serve... but what if four people app for a particular character all at once? It's not fair to just go 'oh, first in'. But that's just my thoughts on it, so everyone gets a fair shake. Which is why I asked if these people were having to app too. Pitches definitely seem like potential apps (not sure how detailed?), but the 'taken' list is already a TON of major FCs. It's a valid question.

RE: Good TV
I'm rewatching the TV series The Messengers. It's very WoD on a second watch through. People imbued as Angels, trying to stop the Apocalypse, while dealing with people who are going to become the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and Satan himself.

RE: Mutant Genesis (X-Men)
@wolfs
Hence why I asked. Taken implies already given out. -
RE: Mutant Genesis (X-Men)
start processing apps tomorow
big list of taken, popular charactersDid you take apps for these guys too...? Or are those ones that have apps in? It's... not cool if they're just 'given out' without any type of app process.

@wolfs @ThatGuyThere
That's why I suggested just... focusing on the Teen Titans/Young Justice. There are plenty of comics where Superman and Wonder Woman don't show up, the MUSH's focus should be no different. There are plenty of Titans villains. Deathstroke and his Titans, H.I.V.E., plenty of rejected Titans or teen villains... go The Light route and have B- and C-list villains leading ops like drug smuggling. Lift the idea for Club Dark Side and the superpowered fights (a reason to involve Roulette and invoke one of the BEST JLU episodes?) There's plenty to do without the Adult Superheroes having to show up and do stuff. -
RE: Young Justice / Teen Titans MUX
I think your question should be 'do we want to allow only Teen Titan/Young Justice PCs' and have villains be NPCs? If so, you could benefit from a 'check out villain' policy that anyone can grab to run. Also, probably pull a YJ cartoon angle and have 4-5 adult heroes that are appable as trainers/overseers for YJ to help facilitate plot. Maybe not Batman (because, yeah...) but it could work to help drive things and work non-teen drama stuff with training, mentorship, etc.

RE: Character Information: Wiki or Mu*?
@thenomain
I would assume something that you type +wear Purple Dress and, you get stuck with the pre-described Purple Dress description in addition to your base desc? I've seen a +wear system that let you mix-and-match stuff and it uses a [u()] to pull pieces (so you'd +wear green shirt/blue pants/black boots). -
RE: Mutant Genesis (X-Men)
Oh good, it's not a full on M&M/etc. system. My portal user idea would actually probably work out.

RE: Character Information: Wiki or Mu*?
@pandora @Apos
I don't think I've ever played on a game that had clothing objects. Multidescers, sure. And I also like using look (it's an ingrained trait from many years of pre-wiki games where things like that mattered). I kinda almost got turned off on it by the last WoD game I tried to play and the massive wall of text that didn't tell me anything. I'm for descs and looking, sure, but there comes a point when there's a culture thing. And that is something that doesn't seem like it'll change. And so referencing SOME things on wikis (I'm shit at describing cuts of clothing, for example) makes life a lot simpler. -
RE: Character Information: Wiki or Mu*?
@pandora
I find a wiki to be useful as OOC information and a 'gathering place' of data. But I like using wikis for base information, and then revealing other stuff in play. If someone is posting huge, sweeping swathes of information on their wiki, that's a bit beyond what I feel the scope of a wiki is for. Sucky action.As far as descs? Eh. I'd rather have simple descs that might reference an image for an outfit, rather than WALLS OF GRANDILOQUENT PURPLE PROSE.
Regarding newsfiles, they're good to have on the game, but there has to be a consistency in staff to keep them updated, especially if they're mirrored on the wiki. Personally, I am not good with trying to use other peoples' MU*-to-wiki integration, and so having at LEAST the wiki updated where everything is one-shot is good to me. But I don't mind having multiple windows open and flipping back and forth.

So make it automated? Set it as an @aenter on the room where they leave cgen to @force them to do the command? -
RE: Good TV
@auspice
Supergirl needs to just... be Supergirl. Like, Girl of Steel punching things. I love the sister dynamic with Alex, but the show needs more Kara punching things. But I'm one of the few who loved 'angry Supergirl punches shit' in the comics, so...
