I'd be using a simplified version of the new Dr. Who RPG. Statted but diceless.
ETA: Looking for a wiki person to handle that side of things!

Across Time and Space MUX - 138.197.94.50 5050 -- http://timeandspace.wikidot.com/start
Across Time and Space is a statless, story-driven MUX set in the universe of the Doctor Who TV series and related media. Players can pretty much play anything - Time Lord, human, alien, cyborg or robot. Things like the supernatural are simply aliens and magic is just science and technology, so ghosts, vampires and werewolves have all made appearances in the series over the years and may on this game. While there are a few restrictions on Time Lord and alien PCs, you'll find that you can make almost anything you like.
With time travel at the heart of things and a whole universe to explore, this game can be pretty much any genre imaginable. Medieval, cyberpunk, gothic horror, space opera, action/adventure, western, and a whole lot more can easily be used in your stories, and when you tire of one, just hop to another. The game can be anything you want it to be.
With a very quick and easy character creation process you can be out and RPing in a matter of minutes, even if you've never seen a single episode. You'll not a find an easier game to jump into with as many possibilities for stories, so why not take a chance? All of time and space awaits you!

Guaging interest in a Whoniverse game. Probably statless, or if I use Adventures in Time and Space, it won't have XP. Timelords live for thousands of years, so if a human goes from a 3 to a 4 in a thing, even in a RL year, Timelords would be all 10s. So no. No XP.
Also I really just want to do a game where telling stories and having fun is more important than XP, power levels, and things like that.
Basic idea is very early Time War - the universe is mostly stable, The Doctor's gone off to avoid the whole coming mess. Either app in as a troupe - a Timelord or two and some companions - or join/build one from existing PCs looking for same.
No PvP, everybody does their own thing and teams up against big plot baddies. Troupes can pass the Timelord to a new player in the troupe if they die/regenerate, or not, as they like. Playing a Timelord means being a storyteller - no dice needed if you can't run dice scenes - as a requirement, so it's not a game full of Timelords and no plots.
Is there even interest in a Whoniverse game?
@Thenomain It seems to happen when people on Duck connect with SSL. Having them turn off SSL makes it stop.
@magee101 So sorry about that! We usually get people approved quickly, but we've had a Sphere Eiz out, and RL hitting me and another. Hope you'll accept my apology and give us another try!
@Thenomain Far more people have read American Gods than MU*, though. Just saying among the MU* subset, WoD is more widely known.
@Arkandel Right. We decided that an nWoD game had a better chance as more MUers probably play or have played WoD than read American Gods.
@HelloProject We also take Psychics on Fear and Loathing.
@Arkandel Apologies! I meant to, but got abruptly yanked RL-wards.
AMERICAN GODS: The perfect antidote to WoD. Modern-day urban fantsy/horror with a far more fascinating backstory and mythology, if you'll pardon the pun. You can play pretty much anything. Characters are broken into Mortals, Legends, Myths, and Gods. The first is self-explanatory. The second would be Johnny Appleseed, Sir Lancelot, etc. The third would be Vampires, Unicorns, Leprechauns, etc. The last are, well, Gods.
I actually have the Newsfiles written for an America Gods-inspired game, but we decided to go with GMC nWoD and make Fear and Loathing instead because more people know it and play it. We all talk about wanting a non-WoD game, but few ever make it. People think they need to read a book or books to play there. People don't like the rules system you decide to go with - FATE, GURPS, homebrew. Or you go statless, and people who don't like full-consent games complain.
For better or worse, people end up playing what they know, not what they profess to want.
@tragedyjones No worries! Fear and Loathing. We're GMC Vamp, CB, Changeling and Immortal.
As a fellow Las Vegas game-runner to another, best of luck!
@Arkandel GMC as best we can. Some 2.0 is being houseruled in as desired/needed.
@surreality I can understand. You're always welcome to just hang out, too.
@surreality As much as you come in and stick up for us, you should play.
@magee101 That's not power, in my opinion. Are they hard to kill? Sure. Near impossible, even. Call me when a Purified gets 20+ dice to drop a house on someone with Industrial Marionette, crushing them to death instantly. SEs get so many extra dice and rote rolls it's insane.
@Carex Or you can actually listen to the players that play there who are saying it's not being abused at all. And they CAN be leaders, they just can't hog the spotlight or crowd out everyone else. They're support characters. It's not a theory. We're currently making it work. Will it always go perfect and smooth? Probably not, but as was mentioned above we're at least trying something new.
The MU* community does love to freak out over problems that MIGHT happen because something happened elsewhere that one time.
They're restricted PCs, yes. For some it helps to think of them as NPCs, but yeah, obviously they're not. It's a PC that gets to start with higher stats to fill a needed role in the sphere/game, can't gain XP until caught-up to, and is restricted in how they handle certain situations. Anyone can app for one, you don't have to be Staff's buddy to get one, and it's really very on-the-level.
Yes, we're aware that it looks like it could be easily abused, but as players from the game have said, it really hasn't been. There really haven't been any problems of Guest Stars dominating RP or slapping Stars around. If it happens, we'll act.
I am amused that one person says it's overpowered, why play a regular character, then the restrictions get pointed out, and someone else says with all the restrictions why bother?
Until April 15th, ALL incentives EXCEPT the contacts incentive are DOUBLE for new Ferals!
