I once played a Star Wars game where a Mandalorian Bounty Hunter walked around in designer blue jeans, a tee shirt that read something like Mandos Do It Best, and had a vast assortment of lip gloss colors.

Canonically, Sabine Wren from Disney's Star Wars Rebels is like this.

However, this may only underline to you just how much Disney has wrecked the canon.

Mrm. I don't like that names seem to have disappeared from the unread page... I don't have everyone's avatars memorized and I don't want to. 😕

Hover your mouse cursor over the avatar and, et voila - the name appears.

Yo, any of y'all ninjas watched Donten Ni Warau?

It has sexy boys in it. It's also depressing, yay. As if my depression weren't bad enough.

A modern non-WoD supernatural game set in modern Japan, where Japanese monsters and mythology are real. Essentially Yu Yu Hakusho + Tokyo Ravens + Ushio and Tora + Rental Magica + xXxHoLiC and all those other 'humans, Japanese spirit world and youkai interact' series. Would focus less on horror (though that's there) and more on the supernatural adventure and big heroics deal. Mostly because I've been bingeing the new Ushio and Tora, which is really good.

I would play this fucking game so hard, blood would pour out of my ears.

I would play this. I would play this fifteen fucking times.

I currently play on a game where there's a dude who is in deep abiding love with his sword. I mean, not really, its not a character affectation that's meant to be twee or cooky. He just drags this damn sword all over the place, often into mundane and public IC spaces where walking into a bar with sword should rightfully make people freak the fuck out.

You should tell me where this game is so I can roll Zastaraya there. She would get along splendidly with him.

And by 'get along splendidly', I mean she would probably try to kill him.

She is the last character at the bottom of this post. The one in the sling-style swimsuit.

      Harassment is a problem.

Harassment to someone's boss, family, or not game related friends can just fuck off my game. Probably with warning first but maybe not, depending how malicious the harassment. Reaching out to make a person's wider life difficult is a dick move and using a game as the vehicle for it is betraying my trust as a provider of a game.

As I think I've largely staffed on games with an explicit No Harassment rule, I think I'm on pretty solid ground. As this philosophy has come from watching people threaten suicide over game relations and try to ruin marriages through the context of the game I feel on pretty solid footing.

Mind you, if a marriage can be ruined by something someone is or isn't doing on a game, that's not my responsibility as a game owner, but man would I want that situation off my front lawn as quickly as possible.

For once, I am lucky to be employed in a dead-end job and unmarried.

I understand that the government has access to everything I do/say, and that there's no such thing as privacy on the internet.

I also prefer to not have the people I interact with on a daily basis reading over my shoulder because it's just awkward. The chances of the government giving a shit about what I write (and therefore, paying it mind) are a lot less significant than the chances of a game runner being pissed off that I told Susie in pages about how much the site sucks.

Do I have any guarantee of privacy on the internet? Nope. Do I prefer a game where the staff says 'we don't spy' and then behave in a fashion that allows for me to trust them? Yep. I won't play on a game where I'm told someone is planning on reading over my shoulder just randomly. Don't like it.

If a game runner banned you over something like that, it is my opinion that they're garbage people with huge insecurities.

I would only ban people or harass them if they actually break rules, not because they told someone "Cirno is a fuckface!".

      Outside of that, I agree.

Privacy in games is important to some, I agree. It's just that the Internet is inherently not very private, unless you are behind the aforementioned wall of proxies, and, anyway, I feel all humans deserve the right to privacy, so I don't disagree with that principle.

@Arkandel, considering how small and obscure my boss's company is, I wouldn't even be mad. I'd be faintly impressed that they managed to locate the guy in the first place. Totally understand what you mean, though.

By the same token, things are so bad around here, I would wager you a dollar to a donut that even if MUSHFace McCrazy rang my boss and said "Cirno eats tender infant flesh!", he would respond with, "Yeah, and who's gonna drive the work truck from site to site, kid? You?"

Cirno, it's a topic in the admin-only area in which the admin discuss the trolling that you and I have already discussed in chat; I was telling the others about that conversation, as you asked. It has nothing to do with banning you; that possibility was never mentioned, so you can set it aside as a concern.

[...] it doesn't matter to me if people spy on me, especially since I do nothing that would invite suspicion.

This isn't the point of requesting privacy on a Mu*. It's to request that you not be put into a position where you are compromised, to assure that you have a reasonable expectation that people won't come barging into your life just to fuck with you...

      • What will be compromised if someone spies on me whilst I engage in Pretendy Funtime Gameplay? It's not like they're going to make off with my insurance information, my Social Security Number, and all my credit card numbers. What's at stake here?

      • How will they fuck with my life? Go somewhere and post, "Ha ha! Cirno plays on a trash game for garbage people!"? People already do that here. 😛 Slit my throat in a dark alleyway? What could they possibly do that would impact my real-world life so drastically that I should consider it a grave concern?

So what is the thread "Cirno's Trolling" about? Cause, like, if it's about a plan to ban me in the near future, I can just leave the forum and save everyone the fuss. Just saying. I have left under my own volition before, it's totes not a big deal.

I reasonably doubt it's a thread where people gather round to laugh at my foibles, and I've been through this before on the old place.

      IDK, but I wouldn't worry. FUCK'EM

      /)

Can't argue with that. At any rate, if people seem visibly distressed, I'll just take another month-long vacation like my last one, anyway, and let people relax.

I'm really only just asking because Glitch and I were talking about how (since I'm employed as a Sysadmin and can gin up a website with my eyes closed) I should make a site about MUSHing like this one, except for black people.

He was very supportive and enthusiastic about the idea, but I don't want to do it unless something truly drastic occurs.

White people and Asians, Hispanics, et al., will be allowed, it'll just be a Black Owned Business, if you will. So if they ban me, you guys can come over and talk to me there.

I just assume people are going to read whatever I write eventually. I have had a lot of really terrible TS logs passed into my hands over the years. A lot of the smarmy things people say about each other. Just a lot of things I didn't want to see but had to read because...how could I not?!

On Shadowed Isles we all knew the owners were spying. They put the blame on their coder but man, those bitches were crazy and lied all the time anyhow.

Staff can say they don't spy. Maybe they don't. Maybe they do. You'll likely never know. Beyond that, maybe your rp partner is sharing your love of toe sucking with the world. So before you let someone textually tie you up and call them Daddy, maybe check yourself to see if that would be a big deal to you.

On Shang, one of my favorite things to do was TSing in public and ayy lmao'ing at the funny comments people would make.

I don't like shang anymore partially because nobody goes on the grid these days. They all hide in their rooms and page.
