@fortydeuce Slightly off tangent since most people agree that chewing with your mouth open or eating loudly is gross but-- an ex of mine used to eat so loudly and so slovenly that I would get embarrassed around our friends, and would get enraged when we were in private. Basically, I could hear him eating and it would make me angry.

I really, really hate hearing people eat.

Yes, of course you do. I meant in folks wanting to bring it back up other than you. As I've learned over the years, one person-- no matter how excited and dedicated --does not make a MU*.

So many theme pages have been updated over the last two weeks. I've fleshed out all of the Star Navy positions, added a bunch of civilian jobs, fleshed out some racial stuff, and started working on planets and flushing out the diplomatic jobs.

I'm currently trying to run 1-2 scenes a week. Each week in the middle of the week I try to run a "Monster of the Week" type of scene to give folks something to do and RP about having happened. Meanwhile on the weekends I run Metaplot/Large Plot scenes.

@EmmahSue is running a bunch of stuff civilian side. She's currently go a biweekly "civilians improve the quality of life of the ship" thing going on for anyone who likes that sort of thing.

We've got some Zero-Gee ball stuff about to happen. And some other fun stuff. But....

I'm looking at going back to work within a week or two, and I would like to make sure that this doesn't slow down the momentum of the game. So I'm thinking I would like to hire 1-2 extra storytellers to help NGC-6302 and I out with running things. This can be someone who likes to run Monster of the Week stuff (Midweek Madness, yo!), or someone interested in helping us with the metaplot.

Who do you watch, and why? I'm psyched this evening to see that Pop Culture Detective has put out a new video, and one that is very emotionally reaffirming (rather than one of his videos investigating toxic masculinity, which all of those videos are GREAT but man depressing sometimes).

Hallo folks!

Are you looking for something non-WoD but still urban fantasy? Or are you looking to try a slightly less crunchy system? Looking for an Anitaverse game? @Chime has given me her blessings to revamp the 'Wildcard' game. There is much revamping happening. I'm still putting some nuts into place but folks are welcome to come around and start making characters (and even start RPing). Things are incredibly bare bones.

But joining now does have the benefit of being able to work with me on some of the backstory of the game, and establishing your PCs early.

Wildcard will be using FAE (Fate Accelerated Edition) -- if you don't know it, please don't be intimidated -- I don't know it very well myself but @JinShei has helped me grately and we'll learn together.

Now! About the game!

Late in December of 2014 there was An Incident between two young preternaturals. A werewolf and a vampire. Things quickly spiraled out of control and now the city of Taminkal is a warfront for the preternaturals. The vampires and the werewolves are out for blood and have dragged everyone else into it. Raids are being planned on both sides and the fights are getting worse and worse--

Are your leaders dragging you into a fight you don't want to be in? Do you hate vampires and want to kill them all? Are you a wererat who thinks you can use the chaos to further the rodere? Are you a witch that is uncomfortable with having been pulled in by the vargamor of the local pack?

Do you just not want to be involved? There is one neutral zone within the city. Wildcard Casino & Resort, run by an old witch with wards against magic. Any are welcome to stay, violence is not tolerated.

Mortals are food, but will they be willing to stay that way? What will happen with tourists come to town and get caught up in the warfare? Rumors are that RPIT is requisitioning a lot of silver weaponry. What will happen in the city when things boil over?

Taminkal is a (fictional) Western Washington city on the coast. The Casino is the main attraction for the city. The city is roughly a little under the size of Seattle with give or take some population density and square miles. It features a harbor with commercial shipping and fishing, it isn't far from the Olympic National Park and the Hoh Rainforest, and sits right up against 101.

I've started working on fleshing out a "Civil Services" group for the game. This will be civilians who are social workers, emergency medics, detectives (crime!), peacekeepers, and crisis responders. A lot like what people are trying to replace the RL police force with.

Peacekeepers are a lot like orderlies. They are trained to use non-lethal and as non-violent as possible force with people who need it.

Social workers are either those who check in on people or those who calm down tense situations.

Detective look into committed crimes.

Emergency medics are what it sounds like -- someone who responds to medical emergencies.

I've created three rosters for the team so far and plan to make two or three more tomorrow, and create them a wikipage with more information. The current rosters are:
