      I had been doing this for just the rooms that I as like "eh can't do story desc" but I think I'm gonna go back and through and make sure every room has the listing above the main desc too for those who wanna tl;dr.

      Descing rooms isn't nearly as fun as playing with the weather code, or making rosters.

      Guys...

      Can the descs for each room just be: "This is the bridge, use your imagination". Or "This is the medbay, figure it out."

      With Ares, however, I'm almost done with my silly sci-fi game enough to start alpha. I highly recommend taking a look at FS3 and seeing if you think you can make it work for your game, and going with Ares if you're able.

      Having poked at Evennia I'm in awe of @tehom and the work he's done, and everyone else who coded for Arx.

      Hey, look. I made some rosters one each for the different "departments". I need to make a couple of civilian rosters. And then I'll maybe try to make another for each of the departments.

      @faraday Oh! I feel dumb, re: incapable level skills. Thank you that takes care of that one really easy. The attribute one, I put in a line that was:

      Race:
        attributes:
          Brawn: 3
      

      (this is just an example) But it didn't take. So I also tried adding a new key that was starting_attributes, and that didn't take either.

      The ranks thing everytime I save a config file it tells me that my file is saved but one of my config options is invalid with this message:

      - ranks:ranks does not list all group vals for the rank group.

      I am >this close< to having my chargen finished. I have three problems I cannot currently solve:

      1. I cannot figure out how to set up starting attributes for people.
      2. I cannot figure out why ranks is screaming at me.
      3. I want to set it so that the psionic skills don't default to 1 pt.

      I am taking a break from it now to play a game and do some laundry, so I can spend some time thinking on how to either fix it or work around it.

      After chargen is done, I will likely dig out a small grid with a few key locations on the ship, and then open for alpha testing. For alpha testing I'm thinking of limiting it to like 20 players. I don't think I'll get that many people interested, but if I'm wrong and there's a lot of interest I wanna be able to handle the load until I get active staffers to help and get more of the system worked out.

      I'm interested. I have a few thoughts I don't mind sharing here:

      1. I don't have much in the way of strong feelings for most of the questions asked, so alot of my responses were just 'neutral'. I don't care either way. However...

      2. I think my biggest issue with Shangrila and it's multiverse setting is that it allows literally anything. Such as @bear_necessities dick cows or the horrors like Baskin Robbins. And that just ... I just ain't into it? I also have a general preference -against- playing with copyrighted characters (super heroes, characters from popular TV shows or movies), or real people. If it's someone's copyright or it's just too weird it makes me wanna run away.

      3. I don't much care about whatever anyone's kinks are, right? Except... another big problem I have with Shangrila is the ageplay. I would absolutely love it if there was an Erotic MU* that drew a line in the sand and said: No, you can't have underage characters.

      4. Similarly I'm kinda eeeeeh about non-consent and rape RP. On the one hand if both players are OOCly consenting to exploring that... ok, I guess? On the other hand, eeeeeeh, icky.

      5. ....but I do absolutely love the idea of a robust crafting system and an IC economy on a sexmux. I'll be right there hunting dickcows for making armor with @bear_necessities !
