RE: Sexual themes in roleplay
The first mush I ever played on: LAmush had a "no rape" policy. And I don't think it ever caused anyone extreme agitation. I'm not entirely sure why it becomes "ZOMG HYPOCRITES! FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION!" when someone says "please don't RP rape". Why? Because most places don't say "please don't RP murder"? The truth is most places do ask that. They ask that by not allowing antagonist spheres. They ask that by typically not approving PCs who only goal is to go after other PCs and force them to play being killed by another PC.

Online Cards Against Humanity w/ Skype
(Yes, I know @chime, you hate skype! But work with me!)
Ahem.
Anyone interested in doing some online Card's Against Humanity w/ voicechat via Skype sometime? There's a website (as @Thenomain mentioned recently) that mimics the game, and is kind of like a chat room. So folks can all join up in the game and play together. With skype it allows for the reading of the cards out loud to everyone.
Or we could use whatever voice-chat-program-of-your-choice, whatevs.
Anyone?

RE: Sexual themes in roleplay
Only tangentially related to that:
I had a character that I decided I wanted to have the derangement Avoidance (Sex). I thought about the best way to cause this and while the first option were either of the things @Corruption meant, I decided I didn't want to write that into a background. I didn't want someone to have to read it and be bothered by it.
Instead I gave the character a series of Bad Things happening after sex. The first time her then boyfriend sent a video of it all over the place. The second time she got pregnant and the dad skipped town, etc.

I was going to add it to my other post but I'm going to throw it out as its own post, instead. Fuck you for bringing this up where I was not expecting to see it and getting so fucking down and dirty into the topic.

What I don't get is why divisions exist at all - the conversation is fine, it's the Us or Them that bothers me.
Yes.

RE: Sexual themes in roleplay
I don't really find the idea of "do you TS? Y/N?" conversation very interesting. Whether any of us do or don't doesn't really matter much on this forum. No one is going to open a TS thread were we all just post sex at each other all day long.
I think a more interesting question is somewhat similar to @Ganymede's statement. Where's the line between something that's "provocative" or "sensual" but not "sexual" or worst (to some people) out right TS?
What do people consider "sexy, but okay" vs "sexy, but not okay?".
I've had some scenes that would be considered TS because the sex was roleplayed out that were so vague that frankly I wouldn't OOCly consider them sexy or as @BetterJudgment mentioned arousing. Sweet? Sure. Warm? Probably. Steamy and making need a cold shower? No.
On the flip side I've had scenes that consisted of a zero sex what so ever that managed to get my pulse up. Sexual? Not by a straight definition. Definitely steamy and provocative however.
(Note: Also if you ever want to experience a non-sex TS scene just ICly kiss one of @HelloRaptor's characters! runs away from Raptor)

RE: Kushiel's Debut
More people should come play Nantes! I need family! And like the entire Nantes holdings are open. Or you could come play Paquets and attempt to murder me. :3

Is Talisman worth getting? I might pick it up if folks give it good reviews. Also looking at Small World.
I really enjoyed it. The games can be very very long though, but I still really enjoyed it. It's a little bit RPGy for a boardgame but really fun. XD It'd be nightmare to play on an actual board, mind, but computerized it's pretty clean and organized well.
I will warn, however, that if you take too long to take your actions the game will play for you and will do things you don't want it to do.

RE: Steam Buddies?
@Huzuruth and I have copies of Talisman: Digital Edition. If anyone else has it, and is interested in playing let me know. We played tonight and it was fun (if very long, and the game stole his win).

RE: RL peeves! >< @$!#
I've always found 'heh' to be disconcerting to me. I've never been sure if the person using it was actually amused, or irritated with me. I find it off putting and will typically withdraw from the person when they use it on me.
This, likely, comes from the fact that I outright asked someone once if they were amused when they used 'heh', and got a noncommittal, beating around the bush answer that just confused me more.
'hehe' or 'haha' or even just 'ha' typically makes me less confused.

RE: Kushiel's Debut
I've recreated an old character. I'm looking for a few folks to play members of the Nantes family. Which is preeettty much clear right now. I'm playing Mylene Nantes, a priestess of Eisheth and healer.

RE: Book suggestions
I will probably tryy the steam and seduction series, and the fscifi and fantasy one from Emma, but I don't really like Sherilyn Kennyon or Kelly Armstrong.

RE: Book suggestions
@2mspris Add Maya Banks Sweet series, there are six of them and they are a bdsm/domsub series that you can stick the "like 50 shades?" label on. There are also the books by Cara McKenna.
