To be fair, there's an option #3 there: wasn't online/wasn't interested in either scene, too.

Option #4: Doesn't even play on the game.

Or play just long enough to be involved in aforementioned plot before discontinuing playing on the game. Which amuses me to no end, so don't take it wrong. 😉 Either way it's the wisest route to just not get/remain involved with the game.

      You're presuming a lot. It's a bad habit.

If I had a game it would probably offend people's liberal sensibilities.

You are on a forum where people roleplay fucking the dead. The degeneracy here is like a circus for me.

Congratulations, you have sucessfully compared apples to oranges.

Contributing to this forum is kind of like contributing to the well being of Jonestown. It's a fucking forum about pretendy time games. Stop taking this shit personally.

I'll never understand this sort of thing. Why are you hanging around on a forum you actively think is worthless? I don't take it personally--I haven't taken any of this personally. I'm just kind of sick of you only popping up to complain about "no one does anything original anymore". Maybe you shouldn't take it personally.

Or do. It was directed at you...

      Here's a novel idea....

      Make a vampire game.

      Keep it open.

Simple as that. As horrid as Firan was at least it was creative and original.

Yes. Originality and creativity totally overshadow anything horrible that might be associated. I'll keep that in mind. Rofl.

Oh, I absolutely get it. I'm just saying it's likely not on purpose. You still have the right to be annoyed about it, obviously.

It's one of those situations where... I know I put effort into keeping up with such promises. Or if something comes up, I drop a note: 'Hey, I know I said I'd get together with you tonight, but I totally spaced on something else I had already committed to. We will get together soon!'

I guess some days, I want that same level of dedication/consideration, damnit!

      Yeah, I know the feeling.

I also know sometimes I am the source of that feeling in others.

It's a strange dichotomy that I am not always very proud of.

Not being a hermit is hard sometimes. It's part of why (along with trust issues >.>) that I keep a fairly narrow circle of friends.

      ikr.

the worst part is I don't have a narrow circle of friends, I have several very narrow circles of friends. XD

I more mean in the cases where it's the same person. Over and over. When you've spoken to them about it: 'Hey, if you don't think you can keep up with this, don't promise it.'

It gets frustrating after a while. And it's never a 'I'll try to...' it's always this guarantee they want you to trust.

I get that people forget. That things come up. Totally understand. But I don't appreciate the person who gets bent out of shape when they say 2 hours, then after that window has passed, I'm asleep, busy with other things, etc.

It's the expectation that my life is on hold for theirs that gets me.

Oh, I absolutely get it. I'm just saying it's likely not on purpose. You still have the right to be annoyed about it, obviously.

Lame thing but listening to a lot of classic rock. Cream, Stones, Hendrix. So good.

One of my joys lately has been picking good music to bike to and from work with.

Today was Mustard Plug, Pray for Mojo. Yesterday was Paramore, The Final Riot.

I probably fall deeper into the second category these days unless I've absorbed enough mechanical knowledge via osmosis from freaks like Coin or Misadventure, in which case I'm more ambivalent. But I hate learning new systems from scratch.

      Me neither.

      Come on, guys.

God damn, another complaint from someone whose biggest contribution to this forum has been a thread dedicated to bitching nostalgically about Firan... Come on, guys.

Seriously, people like to play what they like to play. If you don't, don't play it. Make what you like and if it is good, people will go play. Or at least make a fucking thread stating exactly what you would like to play and asking for interested parties in running it...

... anything but another post complaining people don't share your views on being tired of the same games.

@Coin Well, I know. I admitted I made a mistake in the title, but I thought the questions I put down would get answered as well. 🙂

      Sometimes I can be slow.

MSB 102: Some people, like @Coin, are assholes who will point something out even after you've already admitted to having fallen into that particular pit.

You're just lucky @HelloRaptor isn't around anymore, or he'd write four paragraphs about it.

And I'm not talking like, my Hemingway-esque two-sentence snappy shit. No, my friend. I'm talking long diatribes. Shit that would make you think he's, like, fucking Russian and you are the target demographic of his next great work of literature.

      Relentless fucker.
