Pretty much the only thing I dislike about biking to work every day, etc., are days like this: a storm just rolled the fuck in and decided to piss all over the city. I had to cancel two after work appointments because I can't reliably ride around the city in this deluge; I need to be able to go straight home.

RE: RL Anger
Dear Same Coworker Who Keeps Fucking Touching Me,
Please follow the instructions for memos; I told you a hundred and thirty seven billion times not to print pages of shit with no information on them. If the person hasn't taken any leave, and the page in our site says "has not taken any leave", you do not need to print the page that says "has not taken any leave" as that is fucking wasteful.
Also, I am going to cut your fucking hands off if they touch me again and you will have to learn to type with your fucking nose.
Sincerely,
A Piece of Pissed Off Currency.

RE: Storytelling Advice
This is also why I like it when all my significant XP expenditures come with some plot on the side. I like for at some point to finish the plot and have it not reallyt make sense for me to buy that stat because I totally fucked it up and now I need a different way of getting what I want...

Coworkers who are touchy-feely. don't fucking stroke my back or shoulders when you come over to ask something. It's fucking creepy as shit.
This.
and the knowledge that if you say anything it will be taken as aggressive and ill-tempered.
I can see this. Some people go overboard with it. But also -- don't you live in a country where being touchy-feely is kind of part of the culture?
No. I live in a country where we greet each other sometimes with a faux kiss on the cheek. That doesn't entitle people to come ov er and put their hands on my shoulders and rub them while talking to me.
And since it's this one fucking person that does it, it's very much not a "this is just how it is here", which would still not be an excuse to fucking touch me.

Someone recommended the Night Manager mini-series to me. I plan on checking it out when I have some spare time. Since I haven't really been RPing for the last six+ months, the late nights before bed have been spent catching up on so much TV.
It's really good. Fair warning: the end is a bit abrupt for my tastes. But it's very good otherwise.

Otherwise, if a gamerunner has real concerns, they can just not allow the game, you know?
Yeah, but there's a range between Promethean ("I'm'a gonna have to change things a lot to make this viable and/or it alters the whole setting in a drastic fashion") and Geist ("I added a sphere but people who don't care probably won't have to").
Some spheres are just more modular than others.
I haven't really read it but from what I've heard it's pretty much made to interact with other spheres in its own way depending on the sphere. So... there's likely going to be some stuff that will mesh well and other stuff that will be a nightmare in a MU setting.

Speaking for myself, I love losing. There's some saying somewhere about how it's not your successes that build character but what you fail at. Even more fun than losing is a Pyrrhic victory. Sure, you won. Congrats. But look at the cost.
But win, lose or somewhere in between it needs to not have been predetermined to be fun. Are there are scenes in a larger, longer plot where the bad guy needs to get away? Maybe? But if the players are kicking ass (and I don't mean because they're only just posing that way in a diceless system but being clever and doing things 'right' beyond punching minions) let him be captured. Maybe his 2nd in command continues the Plan instead. Maybe he planned for his capture and needed it to happen. Maybe it was a double and the real one was off doing something while you wasted time on the diversion. Even of the GM hadn't planned any of the above, incorporate things like that.
Caveat: easier said than done and it's one reason I absolutely SUCK at running things.
is this why you enjoyed playing Kyle in my plots? cuz you always lost?

RE: The State of the Chronicles of Darkness
The only concern that is actually legitimate, in a way, if you don't like something about a gameline, is "why are they spending resources making this tripe when they could be furthering better games", but that is, in itself, highly subjective.
Otherwise, if a gamerunner has real concerns, they can just not allow the game, you know?

@lordbelh I've heard of that show but I've never watched or even seen a trailer for it. What's the TL;DR version of why it's awesome?
It's essentially a combination of the early 1700s piracy in the Caribbean, centered around the pirate kingdom of Nassau in the Bahamas, and a prequel to Treasure Island (i.e. how Long John Silver and Captain Flint meet and develop their relationship).
All of that, a la Starz, which is to say: sex, gore, action, betrayal, and tons of cursing.

I hate those too, to be honest. I think at least the person should be offered a backscene or SOMETHING, or require that it be a scene as an option for the player, even if they can't realistically do anything about it.
But there is something terrible about spending 6 hours in a scene only to oh oops you failed that roll, sorry, while almost no one reacts and the ST is even doing lame posing. I've seen that happen to several people, it makes me sad every single time.
The few times I've mercilessly killed people I have tried to make it as dramatic as possible in my poses.

That's a reasonable point.
I can easily imagine one player ignoring the theme / mood / logic of a scene while other players are trying to have a different type of scene entirely. Sometimes keeping morale high for everyone means telling one person that they are being disruptive and to knock that shit off.
That said, making stupid decisions awesome doesn't always mean making them right. You can still fail in amazing ways. I'm pretty sure WoD even has that baked in to their systems, right? (I know nothing about WoD except what I've gleaned from this board.)
Absolutely. I'm just applying some caution to an attitude that is overall positive and conducive to a good time, but that has to be handled with care in some instances because it can inadvertantly generate resentment. You want to keep everyone's morale up, not just one person at a time. But in general, I agree with your advice, of course.

if players do something and you think it's stupid, think about how to make it awesome),
This can backfire if the same person always does really stupid shit and you always swing it around to being awesome, because other players will resent actually making good decisions when the ST is willing to make stupid shit awesome.
As an ST, I'd much rather have someone who's willing to do SOMETHING, even if it's non-optimal, than the players who are so busy trying to find the best action that they paralyze themselves, and then complain when other players go ahead and move forward with the plot. Incentivize action!
Sure, but there are people in between the two extremes of STUPID ACTION and SMART INACTION.

RE: Storytelling Advice
If you're going to try your hand at storytelling for the first time, my best suggestion is:
Find a friend who runs stuff that you like, and run stuff for them (or a group that involves them), and let them know you might need help or advice. It's good to have someone there who can help you if you get stuck.
