I wasn't offended; it just looked like you were seriously not understanding something very simple. I also don't need an apology. It kind of seems like you're the one that's offended here, not anyone else.

I probably misunderstood what was being discussed above.
I am still interested in how you transition protection via XP cost to something else when your environment has about X10 the xp the designers envisioned (or that the designers left in the hands of the ST to be loose or strict with as suited their needs).
I think you're talking about something entirely different than the rest of us. No one mentioned protection via XP costs; we mentioned protection via not being able to take those powers in the first place. If you are not an Irraka, you can't take Irraka Auspice Gifts.

Does limiting anything like other Auspice Gifts work? For instance (aka eg), would it work to say that you can have say 5 other Auspice Gifts, plus one per special event, where the special event is something that's not a personal PrP to get the gift?
Or will be cry that they can't have the build they want? Or that its dinosaurs all the way down? Or that it's staff favoritism?
Is there any way to protect the niches built into the games, or should we assume a laisez-faire design intent, and of course if you have 200 beats you should be able to buy whatever you want?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Auspice Gifts are limited to the Auspice they belong to. Period. If people start complaining because one person has the same Moon Gift as them, they're going to be laughed at, at least.

Yeah the section about additional moon gifts is forward planning for future supplements. In 1E, there were three total gift lists per Auspice.
Here's hoping they don't make the same mistake they did in 1e and have a bunch of Facets that do the same fucking thing across different Gifts. Seriously, we didn't need like three or four Gifts that let werewolves seen in the dark, guys.

RE: Eldritch - A World of Darkness MUX
I am really interested in seeing what other Moon Gifts will come out later. I suspect there will at least be one set of Moon Gifts in The Pack; I doubt we'll get any in Secrets of the Tribes, for obvious reasons, but we might get more Shadow Gifts in that book. I really hope they both have at least one or two additional Wolf Gifts, too. That would be awesome. I really like the way Gifts are structured in 2e: they provide a stable cross-theme application wherein you have a single theme for the Gift and then "how does that Gift apply in a [Renown] way?" With the exception of Moon Gifts, of course, but I like those being so tightly bound to Auspices.

RE: Good TV
Not so much TV as it is movies, but Turbo Kid was fucking awesome.

RE: Good TV
Dominion continues being horrifyingly bad.
The Strain's last episode, boldly titled "The Battle of Red Hook" had literally nothing change (as per The Strain's usual) to the point where the battle felt more like a scuffle, really.
Why am I posting this on Good TV?
That said, both of these shows have made me realize that sometimes the worst TV plotlines are comparable to the best MU scenes. Like, "The Battle of Red Hook" would be all right in a MU--as a big fight everyone gets a turn or two in. Dominion's weird and boring story arc would work wonders on a MU.
I guess medium really does change a lot (unsurprisingly).

RE: RL Anger
It's pissing me off. How come there are no lazy bums with bikes who'll part with them for a few weeks?
-
RE: RL Anger
Hit a car on my bike. My fault, for the most part. Now my bike needs fixing and the parts it needs have to be ordered so it'll take like two weeks.
I can't find anyone with a bike to lend me. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuckity fuck fuck.

I hope that GIF isn't real, it made me angry.
Me too. However, camels are pretty fucking sturdy; even the small ones. I doubt a person could actually even do that.

Wow, that's a crazy amount of work!
Without wanting to derail the thread, maybe this kind of thing could work better crowd-sourced. Spread out the task of looking at Beast - anonymously - through the populace maybe. Better to have a few more Beast given out when they shouldn't than need so much manpower just to keep up with a never-exhausted pool of requests.
You need a spellchecker badly.
this would probably be much more palatable for staff if you had more than just one person doing it. 2-3 would make this a lot faster, I suspect. I do like it. I can even see it working fine alongside passive XP (taking out some of the categories listed above).

RE: Shadow War - WoD Mage-Only (Revised)
i hope @EmmahSue is cool with custom stuyff. I am, I just need to catch up on a shitload of other stuff before I open floodgates on Eldritch that I can't easily close. >.<

RE: Requiem for Kingsmouth closing
Games close. Those people who liked the way it was run but had a dissenting opinion should get together and make a new one. Not a gold of your own, not something to show those people how it's really done, just a game to play.
I would like to see the breakdown of how the beat-sheet system worked, mostly because the way we're doing it on Eldritch is a little hard to control. This isn't to say I want to switch, because I have no idea how it works, but I am asking to see what other people have done because it interests me.

I'm kind of confused here. You loved oMage but don't know what the Ascension War is? There's no sarcasm to my question, nor criticism, I'm just not entirely sure how to reconcile those statements, or answer without telling you a bunch of shit you already know (??).
My fault; I wasn't clear. I've never read Revised so I don't know what they did with it it, what changes/additions they made. In oMage - 1st ed, volume 1, whatever you want to call it, the Ascension War was in the process of happening between all the factions.
In the setting as described, it seems to have been resolved in some magical Armaggedon. What happened in Revised to lead to this?
Well, the setting as described in this post is something @EmmahSue came up with. There are several scenarios in Mage: Ascension, their apocalyptic end-book, that you can choose from (if you don't want to make up your own). I think ES is making up her own, though.

That poor Android.
I love how they absolutely downplay the fact that she's effectively displaying fucking sentience.

Continuum.
I present this here because I think just a cursory glance would be enough to show why this game would never work as a MU. But still, this is really neat. Maybe some day an online tabletop can be worked out.
