You play Geralt's ways with women how you like, basically.

And this is why I went with Triss. Because Yennifer is a bit cunty.

I went with Yennefer, because I like to make Geralt suffer a little. Also, I am not far enough into the game to have explored any of the relationships very well. I liked the interactions with Triss, but when I played their moment in the maze, I still hadn't really met Yennefer (which you only really do when you go to Skellige, really, and I hadn't yet).

So I wanted to explore that.

I honestly don't actually know if my decisions in Geralt's romantic life are set in stone yet--I have a lot more to play still.

In fact, I think of all the non-gameplay things the game has (i.e. story, graphics, etc.) the hilarious stuff that happens to Geralt during his sexual exploits may be my favorite.

The number of brothels on the game is both realistic and disturbing at the same time.

I just really also like that the game gives you the chance to be suave, or kind of awkward, or just shoot yourself in the foot HARDCORE romantically. You play Geralt's ways with women how you like, basically.

They helped you move? They're friends.

To be fair, she might not have a body to move yet, so we're not sure.

Quick, @Auspice, murder someone brutally and see who helps you...

Actually did that already. It was hilarious. In fact, I think of all the non-gameplay things the game has (i.e. story, graphics, etc.) the hilarious stuff that happens to Geralt during his sexual exploits may be my favorite.

I'm still at level 21. I haven't actually gotten any Witcher gear from any specific school, and I ahven't played with the different combinations of abilities yet. I do like the telekinetic blast, though. I like all five of the powers, though Yrd (the wraithtrap) is sometimes tricky to use well.

@Ganymede I've never even touched Witcher 1 or 2. Nor do I intend to, especially since I suspect I could play Witcher 3 for the next two years nightly and just not finish it...

I do think I'll need to spend a few hours configuring and calibrating my Steam controller for it, though...

@Thenomain, Witcher 3, from all I've heard, has a vastly different control schema than Witcher 1-2. I haven't played 1 or 2, myself, and I think 3 is fine.

Yeah, one of the Atari systems, probably also the 2600, was my first real console. We even had a Pong thing. Then it was the NES (which I still have, which still works) and the rest is history.

Atari, with the joystick and the orange buttons to the side and the number pad.

The the NES and original GameBoy.

      Then the SNES.

      Then the Sega Genesis NOMAD!

      And then the Playstation 2.

... and then PC Master Race. XD

      Any NHL game ever.

Sports games in general. Also any fighting game in general is TONS TONS TONS TONS TONS better with a joystick than a keyboard.

Niantec isn't really at fault and I don't see how anyone could possibly think they are.

If you are driving, don't fucking play PokemonGO. Also, don't text. I mean, it's the same thing. Has anyone sued phone companies for enabling texting while driving?

Not sure on the texting thing, but I know companies have been sued when products have been misused and it resulted in harm. Not sure what the success rate is on those types of cases.

I hope it's zero. I legitimately do. I am anti-corporate as they come,. but that's just fucking ridiculous, especially when there are clear warning labels.

@Thenomain I can't quite fathom how a mouse+keyboard would be worse than using a controller but that might be because I suck at the latter.

Korra is impossible with a mouse/keyboard. Just SUPER frustrating and the amount of things you have to be able to do in synch don't mesh well with mouse/keyboard.

@Coin Are you more used to a controller, is that why you got one for the PC instead of using a mouse+keyboard?

I prefer controllers whenever possible for most games I enjoy playing. I like third-person action games the most--Prince of Persia, Witcher, God of War, that sort of thing. And for me, the controller is better. It's not a matter of being used to it, but of preferring it.

Does the Steam controller have any advantages over getting an X-Box controller for PC use? I've been meaning to get a controller for my PC forever and have occasionally eyed the one Steam is selling, but idk.

For the moment, I couldn't tell you definitively. The Steam one feels more hefty and solid, but I may have just not had an original, sturdy version of the xBox one. Also, the Steam one is highly configurable--as in, you can customize what everything does. It can also control your PC as long as Steam is running in the background, which means you can use it as a remote control.

I'll give you more details as I progress, but I only really got it yesterday.

So I don't post random shit about games not the ones in the actual thread title--

Yesterday I got my Steam controller. It will take some serious getting used to, for starters, but I enjoyed it--it is comfortable in my hands.

However, I found that, for example, Witcher 3 has, since I finished my first 80 hours and my controller got a little fucked up and I had to wait for a new one, not only aded (finally) the "Blood and Wine" expansion, but also changed the inventory interface to the point where I am utterly lost. It's like learning the entire game again--except I'm level 21 and I really need to not suck at shit if I'm going to survive. Lol.

Good thing I have a ton of crappy low-level quests I can go do and practice on...

I also need to figure out how to set up some of the Steam controller's extra buttons into cool commands that would otherwise take me too long... And get used to the positioning of the pads vs. buttons. I am too used to the right joystick being under the four button spread, whereas on this joystick, the right pad is above the four button spread.

Ugh, someone get these first world problems out of my second world country!

@Coin, I'm not sure. The horizontal line work gets lost when I Fit To Screen the larger version, so it's possible a t-shirt would have a similar problem. Perhaps someone on MSB has a better idea.

The dispersal of red this time around is more, for some reason. Trotsky's left eye also actually looks like an eye. It was done in GIMP because I don't have Photoshop, but there is an option to export the layered file as a .psd. I have no idea if it'll work, though.

Anyway, here is the higher res version.

      Thanks.

Doesn't make me like it better, for stated reasons. It's disempowering to others, instead of empowering to the werewolf. That also tends to be a bad move in game design.

Likewise, it doesn't address why terror doesn't affect my attributes. Why not just say everything is always frozen in terror? I get what they are going for, but I'd rather see a set penalty that can be partially offset by some roll, a virtue, something other than ignore one aspect of other characters. Likewise, someone with no skill factor just isn't affected. It's a badly considered mechanic.

I could probably answer all those points to my satisfaction, but not yours, so... enh. Lazy.
