Man if I couldn't safely feel anger I don't think I would feel anything most of the day.
I get through my day with caffeine, spite and stress.

The constant need to come up with IC reasons for the unexpected disappearance of characters, because their players stopped showing up. And reasons for why your character isn't checking up on that person.
Brigid: "I think that's everyone safe and accounted for. Thank heavens nobody was killed in that meteor storm."
Abelard: "I haven't seen your husband. Is he alright?"
Brigid: "Oh, I completely forgot about him. I'm sure he's fine."
"I reiterate no one died during the meteor swarm and we will not be discussing this further.

RE: Critters!
@packrat How did the cat get more adorable when it got bigger?

RE: How do *you* make social scenes fun and enjoyable?
I am a bit in the mindset of being the sacrificial lamb as well.
Maybe a bit telling about the characters I have played but I have very much done things like have my character walk into an art gallery armed with water balloons and such with every intention of doing it so the owner can beat my ass to protect their stuff. Sometimes the scene needs someone to just make a bone headed move so we all have something to laugh about.
I have also taken on the habit of making characters with high empathy for reading what people like, even if I am making a character to be an antagonist character because it gives me an excuse to try and pick up on what players are interested in that scene by rolling to see what the character is paying the most attention to. The players themselves are also probably the most interested in that topic at the moment as well and I can then make it the topic of interaction at the time. It feels a little manipulating at times, but that's not always bad right?

RE: RL things I love
@ominous
I know it was a while back when I mentioned it, but I can say now that Old Gods of Appalachia has mentions now of Skinned Tom if you have ever heard of that one. -
RE: Audio-books
@bluebird Less like a book and more like camp fire stories. Those were always my favorite kind of stories though.

RE: Audio-books
If you don't mind podcasts, I have lately been listening to Old Gods of Appalachia. It definitely scratches that dark fantasy itch for me.
Just a warning, the good folks rarely win, but they still manage a victory sometimes

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
I was reluctant to try and start that show because people got kind of creepy with it online, but man did that show come out swinging when I started the first episode.
"Oh no! My one weakness! Dying!"
Alright show you have my interest...

Have they talked about Mothman or Bell Witch yet? Or the Peebles Test Operation Facility or Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant?
The storyline is still in the 1930 or so as far as I have gotten, so most of those aren't around yet. There is a mention of the Bell Witch, though not by name yet. Just one of the many spirits in the mountains.

RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)
@sunny well I know what I need to get.
I have a neighbor who blasts his engine when he goes down the street setting off car alarms when he does it.
I have another neighbor that keeps parking in the same spot with their car alarm on despite this happening multiple times a day.
And yet another neighbor that sits in his driveway with the bass vibrating our windows for hours on end.
I am a tad bit irritable lately.

RE: RL Anger
@silverfox
For what it is worth my job for the last year has been transporting COVID patients from home to hospital, or from hospital to hospital. Having symptoms severe enough to start dropping oxygen isn't that dangerous anymore comparatively.High Flow nasal canula have been very effective at making sure we don't have to intubate nearly as often anymore as well, making treatment a lot less invasive.
If he's going to go in for this at least he has a solid year of all the things we learned in treatment to make everything less invasive. The big problem now is just that we don't have anything to really speed up recovery, so we still have patients in the room for sometimes weeks. Able to walk and talk and take care of themselves for short bursts, just not safe to go home yet.
Still not a fun experience but not as dangerous as it once was.

I have been listening to Old Gods of Appalachia a lot lately. Horror podcast that takes place in an alternate Appalachian mountain range.
Obviously being here I have an interest in folklore and folk magic, and there is still stuff that pops up now and then in this that I wasn't familiar with.

One of my neighbors has a dog like that. One time it blocked me from leaving the parking lot until I helped it get back into its yard. It was actually adorable.

@Admiral
Because of your avatar, I read that as "Dragon Breast Builders" and I am not sure if I am disappointed this is not a thing. -
RE: Good TV
Man, that show blew me away. I was not expecting The Good Place to actually be good. I thought it was more of the fluffy sitcoms that channel shows at best.
That GIF though sums up the show perfectly.

RE: Social 'Combat': the hill I will die on (because I took 0 things for physical combat)
One of the things I liked with Numenera is that even in combat you can attack a person's mental pool with confusing chatter, fast talking, lies and all sorts of other things.
If you drain their mental pool you don't actually harm them any you just basically brain fry them so badly they can't keep up anymore and are effectively removed from the fight. They find somewhere to hide, stand around looking stupid, or believe whatever you were telling them. It lets you still be useful even in a fight as a social character by disabling bad guys.
And of course outside of combat you can fast talk and all that without it being an attack, but sometimes it is easier to just go ahead and bury someone in so much bullshit it drains their pools and you can blow right past them.

RE: The trappings of posing
Macros are still a thing... maybe one can add something to the +glance code?
Hit a button, it sends the command to the system, now if people want to see who is posing it appears next to their name under +glance.
The "posing" status is removed every 5 minutes or so so it only shows up for people who have recently remembered to hit the button?
