      @Faceless There are angels.

I've heard the deep space pilots talk about them. They're the most beautiful creatures in the universe. They live on the moon of Iego, I think.

      Well played, @Ghost. Well played.

the first plot-scene on Fires of Heaven had absolutely zero attack rolls in it, and a great many skill and attribute checks

Fires of Heaven, huh? What's that game like? Is it a lot of fun? Fantasy game, right? Angels and all that cool stuff? I bet it's a blast.

      Yes, I am being cheeky.

Yeah, I'll still take a soldier with a nice blaster rifle over a Jedi.

Yes. Especially at those levels. Autofire and grenades. No SF:UtF? Dead Jedi.

And they had the nerve to ask me if they could try it! Motherfuckers, once you brought it up I wouldn't have it any other way.

I salute you. It's always great to reward players who...use their head.

When you find yourself inspired by an idea. It is not an idea of the player by all rights. It's an idea of the character. When you are so entrenched in the mentality of a character that their actions, reactions, and thought process becomes nearly second nature.

When that character comes to some sort of decision. A dangerous decision and you feel a little wiggle of sadness or loss for them. You know there's a good chance that if they follow through with their plans, no matter how noble or nefarious, that there's a good chance they're going to die because they're taking on the role of David in a more realistic version of David & Goliath.

      YOLO.

That awkward moment in life when you realize you don't really know someone. In this case, your spouse.

You are almost 35 years old...HOW HAVE YOU NEVER HEARD OF CYPRESS HILL!?!?!?!?

For the second review in a row my spouse has received a 10% raise and has been advised that due to the growth in business her company's been experiencing over the past couple of years, she can likely expect a promotion within the year. She's among the hardest working people I've ever known, she deserves it without a shred of doubt.

I may also find it kind of hot to call her 'Director' from time to time.

Just a little moment of swelling pride I feel on her behalf.

@Coin you don't play with me anymore either. I need a lover. Preferably a svelte pool-boy archetype.

What, you and @Royal have a spat?

      No.

      Fair enough.

My usual method of dealing with the press one finds in a public place is to find refuge in Places. Tuck away in there, contain your roleplay to it, and use general poses to express anything noteworthy that may be noticed by those not in your Place.

It's generally worked pretty well so far.

@Auspice don't. If you pass away unexpectedly he or she will feel no such guilt while using you to survive.

      Just some food for thought.

    • RE: Culture Building

As we discussed on the subject, there's nothing wrong with creating a niche for any particular group within an imaginary culture. It just adds story to tell and there's nothing wrong with that. My question was largely intended to ask if men possessed their own specialty or niche, but not in a tone that suggested they must have their own.

It was a question of curiosity, rather than any sort of feeling that one group or another should be totally equal in uniqueness to the other. You already know this of course, given our discussion. I figure it's worth noting for the MSB crowd. We know how they love their torches and pitchforks.

@Ganymede that's still a solid choice. 6 definitely had some great mood music! I'm sure that Tactics holds such a special place in my heart simply due to nostalgia.
