There is Landis's script. I actually like it a little more. Darker tone. Haven't read it completely tho.

Netflix confirms Bright sequel.
ETA: Original screenwriter Max Landis will not return. (which means my dialogue issues may be resolved, thank god.)
The dialogue was Ayer, who is returning. Max Landis's script in its original form is pretty different then the Bright we got.
Damnit.
I mean if they pump some fucking life into Will Smith I think he can get the bad dialogue through.
He was the weakest part of the film for me except for a few moments where he wasn't phoning it in.

For anyone who likes horror, westerns, or Jack Ketchum novels (it's not based on one of his novels but it plays out like one) I highly recommend the movie Bone Tomahawk. It's available for streaming over Amazon with their Prime service. The movie synopsis reads: When a group of cannibal savages kidnaps settlers from the small town of Bright Hope, an unlikely team of gunslingers, led by Sheriff Hunt, sets out to bring them home. It's got a pretty decent cast too with Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, Richard Jenkins, and Matthew Fox in starring roles.
I think you kinda gotta put a... gore warning?
That movie turns the dial to 11, then decides it isn't content being a spinal tap meme and rips the dial to 20.
Bone Tomahawk is not for the faint of heart.

Just wait; the female Dr. Who arrives tomorrow.
Matt Smith ruined Dr. Who for me.
None will be as good as him.
starts a fight

I don't see that she was talking about you, but not in the way that implies. You disliked the movie. You had reasons.
You are not rabid, frothing hate at the mouth. She specifically said hate. You do not hate. Waaaay diffefent.
ETA: There were literally Reddit groups coordinating and campaigning to drive down the ratings. THAT is what she is characterizing as the MRA stuff.
Except any dissent and dislike of the TLJ is being characterized as trolling MRAs.
Thats what I have been seeing.

David and I watched Bright as well. I thought it was great, and critics are maybe being a little jaded about it.
Jaded with a mix of Netflix hate I think.
I also watched Bright past night. I enjoyed it and would happily watch a sequel.
Whats insane to me is that there was no plan for this trilogy and the plan for the third movie is only now being formulated. (I believe I read that JJ Abrams made his third movie pitch last week?)
I get it. The original Star Wars Trilogy wasn't completely planned. A New Hope was filmed and shot so that if it wasn't well received it could stand on its own.
Star Wars is now a 6-7 Billion dollar franchise and they are just... fucking... winging it?
I guess if you just pump a few million dollars into marketing and buying off reviewers, it doesn't matter what crap you make.

It looks like the Rotten Tomatoes reviews for Last Jedi were trollbombed. Huh.
It would be nice for once for something to not be politicized.
Because really what I needed with my shitty star wars movie was Trump.

The Force Awakens was a dumpster fire. I sincerely did not enjoy it. Start to finish. There were a few 'moments' in it, but I struggled to finish it.
The Last Jedi I managed to sit through without thinking 'huh, I wonder what else I could be doing with my time'
Then again, I didn't like Batman v. Superman or Suicide Squad either, so I'm clearly not a judge of what makes a movie good or not.
The Force Awakens felt like a fan's attempt to make a Star Wars movie based around their own OC where their character just is AMAZING and everyone loves them and they are the best.
The Last Jedi took those characters and turned them into flawed individuals who weren't superheroes. They were kids playing with powers they didn't fully understand and making mistakes. The whole theme of the movie was learning from failures. I thought it got the point across well.

What did you just say?
Lando would never be caught dead wearing a wife beater.

I haven't seen the Last Jedi yet but there is this:
Some are claiming its just trolls, but I usually find the audience score to be the more accurate reflection of what I'll think of a movie. 56% seems to confirm the feeling of "flat".
The user reviews that are just flat out 1s seem to come down to two camps:
- people who are mad that there aren't more white dudes in the central cast
- people who are mad it wasn't a remake of Empire
Actually needed more old black man.

My eye started twitching at the Critics Consensus stating it honors the saga's rich legacy. I couldn't disagree more. One of the central themes of the entire movie is putting the past behind you, letting the past die. It is a theme that is pretty forcibly made obvious.
Of course there are a few points where they just straight up murder the past.

@auspice IKR? 150 minutes is no joke. Like, at least have an intermission or something.
Have not seen Last Jedi, but god dammit yes intermissions need to be brought back to movies that are over two hours let me stretch my legs and grab another soda with out missing anything you bastards.
Hell the theatre I go to have refills of soda but WTF is the point of that if I can't get a refill without missing the movie.
I loved when the Hateful Eight did an old style Intermission.

Flat is a good way of describing it. I just... I really did not like the movie. I started MUSHing with Star Wars, I loved the Expanded Universe of Books that followed the Original Trilogy/Prequels.
This movie just left me sad in a way as if I had lost those things. (Obviously not completely lost. I still have the good memories and those old paper backs take up a good portion of my bookshelf)
The Mouse had to throw out a pretty decent and fleshed out world for... this? Why is everyone being witty and snarky and throwing out 80 quips a second? Why is your plot based on a sitcom foundation?

Even though it was an ooc page the idea of some Prodigal barbarian grumbling out cyber-slit amuses me.
I miss the WORA wiki cause it always made me laugh.
