What's important is for me to have fun, not my character. In fact most of the time those two goals are mutually exclusive.

Then don't have the ST roll. Let him or her concoct stuff for you to tilt at. There are few players like you or I.

Having a lawyer do your talking for you just really terrifies people because of the implied threat of suit, I think. Even when your lawyer has a spine roughly the consistency of marshmallow fluff.

That said, Heavy Gear was always a great setting for the smaller suits and the world was actually really compelling - basically something between Dune and Mortal Engines.

I'm sort of in the middle. I love Robotech and old mecha anime. I also love Battletech.

But I adore Exo-Squad, one of the best American-produced cartoons in my books. It's story line was compelling, as were most of its characters. Also, it's one of the first series where characters die, and their deaths become a focal point of the other episodes.

(I realize that animation is hardly ever considered "high performance," but this needs to change.)

It's a shame Exo-Squad was released for a short period only, before Universal Animation Studios shut down. Hopefully, with the success of Illumination, Universal can get about to re-releasing Exo-Squad's episodes so I can buy them.

Anyhow, I like space opera. A lot.

      Okay. I don't recall clearly, and didn't.

I was Inferno. I helped Navigator and Zyr run the ship for a few months, long, long ago.

      I always liked St. Petersburg.

We are currently working on options 1 and 3. The current issues have forced me to consider option 4. My problem is that I lack the skills at the moment to set up a new board, and I haven’t the time right now to teach myself.

But we are working on it. Let’s keep talking. The cost to maintain the place currently is minimal, so there’s no need to worry about it.

I've been dreaming of making a Macross themed place for YEARS, I just never thought there'd be the player base for it.

Back in 1996, there was one: RobotechMUSH. I played there for a couple of years.

Be advised that I wasn't intending to make a Macross-themed place. I was going to borrow some elements and make up my own. It was a splendid idea, but one that, like others, I just didn't follow through on.

Friend, you've told me about your back issues before and I've told you over and over not to do deadlifts or squats. So, this is where I throttle you. That said, planks, wall-sits, inverse planks, and Supermans for you.

Yeaaaah, I don't think money is the thing here, it's time/energy, both of which unfortunately cannot be purchased outright. Or we would.

      Right. My priorities are:

      1. Ease of management by staff
      2. Ease of use by visitors
      3. Cost.

      In that order.

    • RE: Space Games and Travel Time? Why? Why Not?

I am not going to question as to a player's motivations as to why they may enjoy space travel. That's just fine. People have different tastes. People also TS me from time to time, so I try not to inquire as to what another person's taste du jour might be.

That said, based on what's been said, the motivations for Space Travel seem to be:

      • Realism
      • Intra-ship RP
      • Potential Encounters in Transit

Putting aside the first motivation, which is a matter of taste, it seems to me that space travel could be easily handled via Temp Rooms. Have a code-bit that creates a "transit room" for players to enter that represents their ship in travel when a trip is initiated, and essentially locks it down for a period of time equal to the "real time" travel time. Have a set of "destinations" in the code that then ejects the occupant PC Objections at each such "destinations" after the travel time has ended.

If you could find one, I can find and pay for a host and would be happy to assist in getting it back up.

Title says it all, just got done trying and really liked it but things there are a bit strict for me (i like to have a community, something which they actively discourage there from what i could gather, also no ooc chan to let the other person lnow if i'm having trouble with a newbie thing, ect.)

I did like the whole 'pick yourself up by the bootstraps and make something of yourself' aspect though, so if anyone has reccomendations for something like that just with more of an ooc presence, please let me know ❤

      Hi, Sarah.

I think we may need more information. What sort of game did you depart from? What are you looking for in a game, besides a sense of progression?

      The MU-niverse is diverse.

I read the conversation. I saw the message specifically requesting that the conversation end. It did not.

It seems common sense to me that two parties can enter an engagement consensually or tolerably, but when one party elects to end it, that's the end of it.

And yet here is a log that I looked at twice now, and it is clear to me what happened.

I said this was not up for discussion. I meant it.
