So when a Vampire attempts to SOCIAL DICE a non-Vampire, will it be easier or harder than when they SOCIAL DICE a Vampire?

      Ditto, also, non-Vampire vs Vampire?

Social combat's a little different than that.

I would argue against encroaching characters being forced into a scene for 'trespassing' for the MU* environment, unless the grid is large, and has clear demarcations between public spaces where everyone can go, and private territories where trespass will be punished.

Trespassing seems an impossible thing to enforce (try doing it in RL), and an unwieldy thing for any MU*.

Instead, limiting resources to particular areas should do the trick. For example, maybe there are fifteen territories, each of which produces 1 of 5 resources, and there are three territories producing a limited amount of each resource per cycle, all spread out on the map. As a plot, you could have the sovereign over the land demand X number of a particular resource from all lords/ladies.

      Time to trade up, folks.

It's why right wing populists go out of their way to say "actually fuck all of that nonsense, we could totally remove Mexicans if we actually felt like it." And they're not wrong. The biggest hurdle to meaningful border control in America are our own self-imposed legal restrictions on how we do so.

We're still talking about how to implement boundaries on games, right?

So yeah, I am not against adding mage eventually. I would just want to be in a position where I had a very knowledgeable, very committed person to run it and to make sure we had done the groundwork to ensure it sat well within the theme of the rest of the game.

      I nominate @SunnyJ.

Add in that most mage plots ended up taking a very long time, due to the nature of mage (I have 30 different spells I could cast, let me think through each one, I take 15 minutes to do my turn in initiative).

I would say that is due to the nature of Mage players, personally. I ran a few small crime-fighting PRPs that took a fraction of the time.

Then again, my particular PC didn't rely on her magic. Her thought process:

      1. Is there a problem?

      2. If YES, can I destroy it with my fists and feet?

      3. If YES, destroy it; if NO, try to destroy it anyway, and catalogue success as a Mystery solved.

I just figured Mystery Cults would be a neat way to throw a bone to those who want them, without having to break systems or HR the crap out of things. Honestly, the less HR'ing we have to do, the better.

But the work has already been done for you, mostly. As I said, some of us have been trying to translate the Bloodlines to 2E.

Some of the Bloodlines would be great for the Descent, like the Dragolescu. If I recall, the Descent had the spirit world bleeding into the real world, which was a totally awesome idea (and one of the reasons why I made a Werewolf there).

If you want help on this end, hit me up. I'm in.

(I used to play 'Wolf' there.)

I'd argue that teachers are kind of responsible for eloquence. Math, science, social studies, reading, and writing. That's what I expect from my school system.

I can't argue against expectations, and I presume that you aren't leaving everything to the school system, but I stand by Tinuviel's statement:

      @tinuviel said in RL Anger:

Parents and teachers are a team that should, hopefully, print out a functional and stable human being at the end of the process. We're not simply a factory for turning children into gentlepersons with eloquence and good regard for their neighbour.

In American analogy, parents are the defense and teachers are the offense in football. One is known for winning championships, but the other is important. Being adept at math, science, social studies, reading, and writing makes you neither eloquent nor moral. If a child's home life is a warzone, it won't matter what a teacher does in the classroom.

It is post-apocalyptic. One might wonder if you are going to have proper covenants, or if they vanished along with mortal society, with new replacements? Sorta like the conspiracies that you could use in lieu of covenants, from Danse Macabre?

Some of the conspiracies would be neat. Harbingers fit better as their own little bloodline.

Players should be expected to craft MOST of their fun on these games, sans-staff.

I concur with you, but, as Auspice points out, this does not seem to match the expectations of a lot of players. I would opine that the Number One reason why games idle into shutdown is because a lot of players are incapable of crafting their own fun without staff.

You and I? We don't count because our RP is on fire. Like, I can't remember any time I've ever RPed with you that didn't end up in our PCs madly dancing with one another in a vicious circle of hatred and sexual tension.

It also doesn't make sense to have a national vote on a work day like many countries have. Either make election day a holiday or move it to the weekend...

Although Americans have an actual day to vote with open polls, most jurisdictions permit some form of absentee balloting or voting. In my jurisdiction, you can actually go to the Board of Elections office and cast your vote early. So, Erection Day is more like Erection Deadline.

Still plan on using the thor shot barrage. No one ever went digging into the big 'Why' of how it all happened, so there's still a big plot lying around in the corners of my mind.

You know, back when I was creative, I had an idea for a post-apoc WoD game where the atomic bombs ripped open the barriers, causing ghosts and spirits to flood into the world. Because of this, technological advancement ground to a halt, as people focused on survival more than innovation. The time was the year 1999, right before 2000, but the technology level was more like the 1950's.

So, it was kind of like Fallout: World of Darkness, but without the power suits and nuclear stuff.

      Because I doubt it.

The most frustrating thing about these sorts of issues is that the employer asks itself the wrong question.

It's not "do I have to do this to comply with the ADA?"

It should be "would it be the right thing to do to give my worker some extra time to deal with their documented disability?"

And the clients I have that operate and grow successfully always ask about the first before coming to realize the second gets you to the right answer a lot faster.

      @sunny said in RL Anger:

My job is being amazing about my whole thing, AND allows for other employees to donate sick leave. No guilt or anything; as soon as I came back to work, people started approaching me in the halls asking if they could help, because most folks have so much stored up they'd like to use it to help.

I misspoke. What I meant to say was that if the policy were to ask people to donate time rather than accommodate a person with disability, then that's a shitty substitute.
