RE: Good or New Movies Review
Everyone is welcome to have their opinion. I’m good with that.
That opinion can also be a negative one. That’s cool too. We can’t all like everything. That would defeat the purpose of entrepreneurship.
But in my old age, I have come to embrace the old Southern lady in me that has come to believe with much introspection that little comes from voicing a negative opinion. What’s the point? Do you seek to discourage someone from spending their money on what they might enjoy? Do you feel a surge of joy crapping on someone else’s work?
I will concede there is something amusing in squelching what others enjoy. There is a delight in ridiculing or shaming another for enjoying what you find puerile, tasteless, or, Heaven forbid, Republican. And if that’s what it is about, go for it.
Let’s not pretend it is somehow noble or sacrosanct, this desire to crush what others have probably taken a great deal of time and pain to construct. As someone else wiser than me taught me: let people enjoy what they want.
Sometimes that requires us to withhold our opinion, no matter how correct we may think it to be.

RE: Forgiveness in Mushing
I forgive easily, if forgiveness is moving on and not letting an incident affect me or get into my mind. I seldom forget, as I try to follow the maxim of learning from my mistakes.
I have screwed up many times. If you seek to alleviate the stress that may cause others, call attention to your error and take steps to fix it. And do not do it again.
Don’t ask me to forget what happened, though, because that won’t happen. And just because I pre-emptively bar you from a game I may be running does not mean I haven’t forgiven you. It means that I haven’t forgotten what happened, and I do not intend to let it happen again.

If you don't really know many people very well, or haven't interacted with piles of people on games when they know, 'oh, hey, that was so-and-so', people don't necessarily know you well enough to discern the reality from the bullshit. This can be a real issue.
If you say so. I guess my experience differs.
Granted, I don't think I know a lot of people very well. This is probably due to the fact that I don't care to know people very well. As such, I often get surprised when I find out who the players of some of my very favorite PCs are. That happened very recently, which led to much of this:
But I have to concede that what you are saying is probably truer for more people than my experience.
One dedicated whisper-gamer with half a dozen buddies can effectively cut off all avenues of RP for the player who has no one or only one or two players who actually know(s) them and would know the whispers are bullshit vs. the folks who don't know them and only know their buddy is claiming such-and-such is true.
This is probably true as well. My coping mechanism, if it can be said to be a mechanism, is moving on. I don't consider moving on as a coping mechanism because "coping" implies "me giving two shits." Which often isn't the case.
That said, I don't engage in whisper-campaigns. Never have, never will. I may say that I don't trust or care for someone as far as I can throw them, but that's about it. I don't judge folks that I know or like by who they play with, even if I think who they are playing with will eventually show themselves.
Everyone's allowed to make up their own minds on things.

I am stupid, but not so stupid I can't tell the difference between words and deeds, and it bothers me Disney thinks they can trick me into giving them money for saying they're doing things they aren't doing.
The only reasonable conclusion to suit your position is that you believe a production company should either have complete, unabashed representation or none at all. And I don't think that's a reasonable position to take.

Cats was fantastic.
Granted, I love the musical. I always have. I like the ballet, I like interpretive dance — I love it all. As such, I’m biased,
But it has flaws. The CGI work in the first 20 minutes is terrible. The staging for the early bits is also poor. But the movie gets better, and the performances of the knight and the lady are amazing.
Hudson will probably get a nod, if not the outright win. If Hathaway picked up a statue, Hudson should as well, especially given that she’s a mezzo. And I adore her take on it: tentative emotion to grief to outrage. It was beautiful and I was moved to tears.
The little additions should help a novice figure out what is going on. I hated what they did with Growltiger. And I think I’m in love with Francesca Hayward.

RE: Learning how to apply appropriate boundaries
Ganymede's Guide to Hip Lexicon:
A Weinstein: Classic quid pro quo. "Sleep with me or I'll ruin your career." / "Sleep with me and I'll make you a star."
A Kavanaugh: Classic entitlement tactic. "I got you drunk! I went to the best schools! I like beer! I worked my butt off! You have to fuck me now!"*
A Duckie: Classic friend-guilt tactic. "You want a lover that's your best friend? I'm your best friend. You should date me."
Duckie is Jon Cryer's character in Sixteen Candles.
All are assholes, but Duckie is probably the worst.

Random thoughts from this discussion.

It's amusing that Derp, Ominous, and I probably practice very close to one another. We could probably have a tri-state area meet up or something. Hofbrauhaus I hear is pretty in autumn.

The criminal attorneys have a different perspective on judges and juries than I.

We all could come together and make a pretty nasty law firm.

I feel kind of weirdly ... punished or something that I can't be online all day.
It's taken you this long? I've been feeling this way for years.
I'm sure the game will open again. If not, so be it. The people I wanted to play with are there, and while I will miss them there will be other stories for other days.

Glad you got started. Started is something to be proud of. Be proud of yourself. This is HARD, and you are DOING IT.
This right here.
Let’s all do this with you. Everything is a victory. We don’t agree on much, but we all agree to help anyone who is looking for a positive change.
My update: I shed 30 pounds since May 2018. Loved it and am loving it. Getting back into keto+exercise mode is tough in the new house, but at least the weight is staying off.

I'm one of those players that will respond with silence. Not because I don't want to RP with you or anything, but because I absolutely am one of those people who doesn't wish to participate in all the things all the time, even if some of the people that I like to RP with absolutely are those kinds of people.
You're probably not one of those people that complains about having nothing to do, however. And, so, you are not my target audience nor the target of my ire.
