      @gryphter

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a phenomenal work, but it is serious, intense, and gritty too.

Divinity 2 is a strategic slog-fest of an RPG that made me hate it within the first hour.

Civilization 6 is a forgettable 4X entry in the series.

The Outer Worlds is a breath of fresh air.

I don't think the current situation is nearly on the same level of the United Heroes fiasco. Everyone is entitled to suspicion, but let's not unnecessarily conflate matters.

There's plenty to discuss. First, should moderators be posting at all other than from a MOD VOICE perspective? Second, if moderators spot what they consider to be unacceptable behavior, should they be the one to call it in? Third, supposing action is taken but other moderators disagree; how do we address the majority disagreement to the minority act? And so on.

Again, I don't mean to try and deflect things, but there is a meaningful discussion being had right now about this that I do not think should or ought to be public. It's not about an NDA; it's not about secrecy to protect the accused. What's said has been said, as plain as day, and, as I said, I am dealing with it.

I'm sorry if I'm giving the impression that I'm not hearing you. It is not my intent to silence concerns or this topic. At this time, I do not know how to make you feel otherwise; I responded as I felt I could and should.

I said that I did not think continuing to address the comment Auspice made was going to be helpful. I still don't think it is helpful, because I can see the post and make my own conclusions based on it. And, as I said to KQ, I was addressing the matter with Auspice.

      EDIT TO ADD:

Just because Auspice has responded here does not mean the discussion has ended. Neither I nor Arkandel asked her to respond here.

I don't think 'constructive criticism' is quite right, but a 'reviews' section would be good.

I'm sorry, but what I meant was a "reviews" section that followed the same rules as the Mildly Constructive section. You would not have to be constructively critical in the review section, no; you just have to refrain from certain kinds of unhelpful comments.

But who devolves it into Hog Pit territory? And what is the law when it does?

I don't know. I would like to say that "offending" posts could be split off into a separate Hog Pit topic, leaving the unoffending posts alone, but that might require too many bureaucratic resources.

Hey, it's disappointing. I wanted a JLA movie to be awesome, if for no other reason than that to ensure there are more made.

I did too, but then they allowed Zack Snyder to direct it, and that's when you should have known that it wouldn't be that great. I'd let Michael Bay direct over Zack Snyder.

So long as Zack Snyder is allowed to direct, the DCU will never, ever take off. Ever. Ever, ever.

It's a mixed bag. I was disappointed in it for a Final Fantasy title. A general fantasy title? Sure.

It is entirely possible that my expectations for Final Fantasy entries is lower than yours.

'Live with it' isn't the answer. Better, less dangerous medication should be on the agenda, though, for real.

      How about affordable care?

"Pain acceptance" isn't a new movement. It's been around since -- well, forever. Doctors regularly inform patients as to the chances of full recovery, the chances of return to normal, and so on. These opinions form the basis of future damages, and other fun things I get to haggle over in my line of work.

Where I'm originally from, it is common to get a second or third opinion. Why? Because health care is more readily-available and cheaper. Exploratory surgery and searches are also more affordable, and more available. Hell, health care in general is better and more exploratory when providers and patients don't have to worry about some asshole insurance adjuster making some nigh arbitrary decision as to whether a procedure is covered or not.

There are limits to what medical science can do. And there are limits to what insurance will pay for. You can remove one of these problems with enough common sense and political will.

The current methodology, per as much as I can gather from @Ganymede's treatment of my suggestions, is 'If no person here find reason to object... then forever hold their peace.' IE, if your post gets 3 or 4 upvotes and no massive pusback, they just assume universal consent.

I'm not sure how you got this impression from my treatment of your suggestion. I explained why I thought it was interesting to me.

We could always go back to the 'lol trash fire' standard for things. But, here, I think it's good to promote discussion. And this means, in my opinion, that people ought to speak up if they have something to say.

      I love Greedfall.

It's not the most polished game. It's not the most original. Yet the story and quest-writing will remind you of Dragon Age: Origins or The Witcher series in their depth. There's really no "fetch" questing, which is great.

Combat isn't perfect, but it has its challenges.

But it is really pretty to look at.

I was about to avoid it after reading a review in PC Gamer by Lauren Morton, but then I realized that she was caught up with the sort of minutiae that I don't give a shit about.

My only real question is whether he can pull off the age gap. In the movie DCU Bruce is older (not that they dared go the DKR route and make him actually old).

This is why Viggo Mortensen is the only logical choice for the next Bat.

Played my first go at Rimworld last night.

I think it's fun? But after 30+ minutes of getting the right trio of characters, I spent another hour before one of my settlers wandered off and got picked off by snipers.

Like, damn, I suck at this, yo.

    • RE: Reasons why you quit a game...

I check out of a game, generally, for one of three reasons, or a combination thereof:

      1. I take serious umbrage to a decision made by staff.
      2. I stop getting RP, or finding RP, during my active times.
      3. The apparent direction of a game makes me PC unplayable.

Based on the above, I don't think there's anything that staff can do, really. I don't expect to step in and save my RP. My RP is my RP, and I get it where I choose to get it. I suppose, like Wolfs, staff could not do things that are problematic or stupid, but that's a matter of perspective.

I concur. Gumball is pretty amazing. Adventure Time is good, and I get a kick out of Regular Show.

What they need to do is kick Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, B:TAS, and other WB cartoons into prime time slots. Also, grab the rights to Exo-Squad from Universal.
