In truth, doing this in a courtroom would lose the jury real fast.

Who the fuck says "photo copy machine".
Who the fuck doesn't know what one is?

That sounds way too straightforward and angst-free for Cyclops. Maybe throw in about 36 issues' worth of Hamlet-ing ("to Jean, or not to Jean") before he finally has the decision made for him by circumstances.
I vastly prefer Singer's Cyclops, who gets disintegrated but, before then, is pretty damn consistent.

I'd argue coworkers should know what their coworkers make, especially in fields where pay is negotiated.
I'd argue that this as well, and in general.
Conventional MBA wisdom says that you should not discuss pay. This is because you don't want co-workers to be jealous of one another. However, this is also how corporations get away with disparate pay rates.
Conventional M.Sc. in Economics wisdom says that you should always discuss pay. This is because all labor should be making the same wages in order to properly apportion costs. However, if you do this, you cannot cut costs by providing minorities or women lower pay rates, thus giving greater profits to higher-ups.
See how this shit goes?
People need to talk about their pay rates because it is absolutely unfair that Sally does the same work as, but receives less pay than, Sam.
You also have my interest. I'll probably snip my Glitch from Marvel 1963 and bring her here. She fits in better here.
Chiming in to remind everyone that this is in the Advertisements area, so if you want to have a debate about the staff's choices, please do so in another thread.
TNP's question to staff is reasonable and appropriate, as it is an inquiry to obtain information.
Carry on.

I don't see why the Suns would want J.R. Smith though, or what the hell Cleveland would do with three PGs when they already have LeBron running point forward half the time and almost always in crunch minutes.
Where do I start?
The Suns will get nothing for Bledsoe, so they might as well take J.R. Smith. He costs less, so he'll free up some cap space. If the Cavs throw in Perrantes, it might be a workable deal for the Suns, who'll get a 23-year-old PG in Perrantes, plus a terribly-streaky 3-pt shooter in Smith.
The Cavs are already a team that will win or bust. With Rose and Thomas out, they need a usable PG now; Calderon isn't going to cut it. They can afford to spare Smith out because he blows, and because they have Shumpert, Korver, and Wade in the SG position.
So, the Cavs need a PG right now, and they don't need Smith.
@arkandel said in The Basketball Thread:
The Suns won't get their money's worth in return for him. Not that Bledsoe is great - he's a good defender and cutter but not a great shooter, and he's 28. That combination means no elite team wants him, and very few building teams will trade real assets for him.
I'll bet the Cavs would trade J.R. Smith for him.
Then again, if I were the Cavs, I'd trade J.R. Smith for a ham sandwich; the sandwich would be more reliable.

Well...fine then. See if I invite you to the "misinterpretation dance" this year. I think they said this year? Or did they say it should be put into gear? Nnngh, maybe I heard them wrong, dammit.
It was the Miss Interpretation dance, which was in May.

Most people agree that both sources is best. This includes myself. Actually, I think Ganymede in the other thread is the only person I can think of in recent memory who thinks we should dump in-game "finger" style information altogether. Or sheet. Whatever.
I didn't say that at all, man. Don't put words in my mouth. Be fair. I first said:
It would be neat if the application to make a PC were just to make up the wiki with a sheet on it.
And then I said:
What I meant was: it would be neat if all you had to do was make a wiki page. You know, just do that, and bamph, character.
And then I said, to you:
M1963 uses descriptions for powers, skills, etc. You could easily put that into a wiki. Injecting that information onto the game is not necessary as long as you have access to the wiki. Sort of redundant, really.
I said nothing about not having a finger-style information. What I was saying or suggesting was that, if a game has a wiki, that players could be approved based on what was on their wiki. And that you didn't need to have some sort of code to inject the wiki information into the game information. I agree that this may seem onerous to folks.
That's it.
Again, just keeping the record straight here. I said nothing about removing +finger or +sheets or any of that.
That’s all right. This isn’t meant to be an attack. Really.
But those are the players you have.
Any reviews from anyone here regarding Scabard? I mean, aside from their misspelling, which I hope was deliberate.
I suppose you're right, except for the dick-punch part.
@arkandel said in The Basketball Thread:
Prime Shaq was just absurd.
Russell-Tron would dick-punch Shaquillous Prime with a ring on each of his punching fingers.
What sort of system are you using for conflict resolution, if you are using one? How do people generate or describe their characters?
@arkandel said in The Basketball Thread:
I mean I get it. He won rings and did relatively little work for it. But he could have been the best ever if he had the crazy work ethic of someone like Kobe.
Shaq doesn't even come close to KAJ or Russell. Not even close.
@arkandel said in The Basketball Thread:
That's why sometimes I'm annoyed at Shaq. He was the unicorn in that regard - an enormous juggernaut of a guy, who did win a lot, but who could have won more if he wanted to work for it. But he didn't. Which ... I can't really begrudge him for, yet I do anyway.
Um. Tim Duncan?
@ixokai said in X-Men Utopia MUX:
What I'm saying is that just getting someone to log into a wiki is a challenge.
To be mildly constructive, I have no doubt that this is true in some cases -- maybe even many -- but if we do not at least try new things, this hobby will be mired in outdated, unsupported technology.
Frankly, I hated wiki-work as well. With a passion. And then, people made templates and forms and fill-in things (thanks, Surreality), and it became easier. And then, people made web portals that worked.
Unironically, the times, they are a-changing.
@thenomain said in X-Men Utopia MUX:
It is insanely difficult to make something like that work. @surreality worked on it for a while and I think she came close?
Maybe. M1963 uses descriptions for powers, skills, etc. You could easily put that into a wiki. Injecting that information onto the game is not necessary as long as you have access to the wiki. Sort of redundant, really.
But, as I said, just a thought.
