I will willingly offer myself in exchange for steak and booze.
Is that acceptable?
To be frank, I'm a simple sort of person, and will exchange steak and booze for someone to watch Stranger Things 2 with.

I'm very disappointed, for the most part.
I'd like to think I'm a pretty successful person, and yet I haven't raped anyone so far.
Maybe I'm just behind the curve.
(Actually, I'm not disappointed -- at least, not at myself. I'm disappointed to hear that even beloved celebs like Tyson may have engaged in this behavior. If the allegations are true -- and I think there is more truth to this than falsity -- then it just goes to show you that you really can't trust anyone at all, anywhere, and it's absolutely tiring to think about life this way.)
(Also, this sickness sucks, but at least it's going away.)
I have dealt with such people who were formerly colleagues. This is exactly what they say, at least.
Thankfully, I didn't have any such colleagues as a teacher.
I know plenty of lawyers that think couch fees are perfectly reasonable too.
Weinstein was one of the most powerful men in Hollywood and it was his job to develop movies, find talent, etc. He choose to utilize that job as a way to get his rocks off at the behest of the women he knew he could take advantage of. I basically want to shove this into the face of all the people spouting that whole "they used him too" party line.
I'll bet they'd say the same thing about teachers who coerce their students to have sex with them to improve their grades. Both sides benefit, right?
I'm playing one of those new Sanctified. Come play with Shelbeast and I!
Except I'm the one with pie.
I got a flu shot a few weekends ago.
Now I have the flu.
WTF, flu shot?
People bringing up the "hot coffee" lawsuit as an example of people being sue happy.

Hey, Gany, I'm coming over to borrow your PS4. I promise to be quiet and also not spoiler too loud with how awesome it is.
You stay away, or my attack kitty will lick you affectionately with his sandpaper tongue.

Just a reminder that the first big DLC for Horizon is coming out in five days.
I haven't even made it to Daytower yet. Shhh.
(I am, however, Level 23.)
I liked Mass Effect: Andromeda. I'm disappointed that they are leaving it.
TIE Fighter is one of those game game-changers, so to speak. It really was one of the first games I played which had Primary and Secondary Objectives for missions, and it was a fantastic flight-sim. It was better than X-Wing as far as playability, and it led to the very cool X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter game, which was very enjoyable.
So, if Battlefront 2 isn't close to it, well, that's sad because TIE Fighter came out 23 years ago.
Anyhow, I do like The Witcher III a lot, but Horizon Zero Dawn is just so enjoyable it's hard to put into words. It's nice to hunt monsters down and investigate myths, but it's also really fun to use primitive weapons to herd robo-animals and robo-dinosaurs to their doom.

BF1 was, by far, the biggest regret I have ever had in terms of a video game purchase.
You and me both.

It's good to know your history.
Sure. By that rationale, we should all start playing TIE Fighter again before we go after SW: Battlefront II. And we should also play Final Fantasy before we hit Final Fantasy XV. And you know I have goosebumps after learning that Star Control II is going to have a sequel in the future.
I was not impressed by Dragon Age's "tactical" combat, likely because I played it on console and I played Mass Effect prior. I've getting more into storyline-heavy games, like the Uncharted series, The Last of Us, and Horizon Zero Dawn. So, the thought of going back and playing through Dragon Age, as much as I liked it, has little appeal. I couldn't make it through Inquisition.
Horizon Zero Dawn is so pretty and smooth, it's unbelievable. And sort of difficult. Herds of cattle can really fuck you up, along with giant chickens.
But it is satisfying to take down massive robo-crocodiles. Oh yeah.

I tried to play again several years later and had a lot of fun, but accidentally went to some DLC content too early and didn't have an older save, so I got stuck, frustrated, and gave up.
I wouldn't bother. The Witcher III is eleventy billion times better, as is Horizon Zero Dawn.
In my line of work, I like to think of some honor among thieves.
I am enraged when a party, five days before final hearing in a divorce case, decide that they want to have an in-chambers interview of a couple's 9-year-old kid regarding who he wants to spend more time with.
That's fucking low. That's really fucking low. And as much as I should blame the party and not their attorney, attorneys have some obligation to guide their clients into making rational decisions.
I wasn't planning to spend my spare time this weekend reviewing everything for the umpteenth time, but I want to be ready to destroy this motherfucker in the worst way on the stand.
I did like fighting the Revenant. It was the right challenge at the right time.
Pretty sure Morrigan is the best thing that DA:O had going for it.
The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks.
I am not not re-reading it because of my new, shiny vampire.
@surreality said in Original Sci-Fi?:
The behavior exists everywhere. The difference is that I've not seen people call it out as elitist or 'theme dictator'ing in sci-fi. I do see that in other genres, though, and it's a difference that makes a potent... uh, difference.
To you, perhaps, but I've seen a lot of "theme dictatoring" in sci-fi games, and less in fantasy-history games.
I mean, far be it for me to want some consistent theme in Changeling: the Lost, wtf, right?
To that end, though, so what? If staff or players are telling me things that my PC should or should not be doing on BSG:U, that's fine. I would be the first to tell you that my grasp on the setting isn't the best. And I'll have a healthy debate when it comes to WoD Vampire spheres.
To me, folks that toss around "oh you're wrong-funning me" liberally do so because they can't be bothered to actually think about what they are doing. It's often a dismissal of a reasonable attempt to keep a uniform or consistent theme, and, frankly, I don't expect staff to tolerate it.
How about, instead, actually listening?
