Having had enough of that and the protests making me rethink my career choice, I have cast a wide net for jobs. I have been offered a position with the post office delivering mail in a rather nice part of town and it will offer a pay cut of only $2/hr. I also started dating someone and we really like each other. However, a job I put in for in California in February has finally come calling and wants to offer my double my current pay.
California is an expensive place to live, if you're going to be located in a city. Knowing what I know of you, it will drive you nuts. It drove me nuts, and I was coming from Canada.
Post office jobs are steady and have good benefits, but often have long hours.
Enjoyable relationships are not easy to come by as you get older.

RE: NOLA 2: Back in the Vieux
Tony's @mail is a classic case of gaslighting.
Bourbon's decision to remove him or ask him to leave because they didn't want to deal with him is perfectly reasonable.

I know it's important and thus do it and do it well, but I honestly hate doing mandatory training reporting. It just breaks my heart.
It does suck.
I remember when I was younger, I had to teach high school kids how to identify sexual abuse in school-aged children.
I did it once a week for thirty-seven weeks.
Now I'm a lawyer.

I am really glad to see people not accepting the nonsense but I guess we will always have folks who want to see how teeheeUnPC they're allowed to be.
First, Coulter.
Then, Shapiro.

Regardless of that particular racial faux pas, damn that was a good 90s film.
As a Canadian, I went to sleep dreaming of Sarah Polley.

The Racial Slur Database specifically calls "Nubian Princess" out as a racial slur, for example, because in the wake of the movie Friday, white folks just...uh. Took that shit and ran with it in the wrong direction.
I first became acquainted with it from Go.

"Do you have a five-year plan?"
The only reasonable answer would be "no."
I don't want to hire an attorney with any certainty as to where they will be in five years career-wise.
You don't know what's going to happen.
If you think you do, you're too arrogant to work with me.

@RDC
I'm not going to argue that, no, but I will say that racism, queerphobia, transphobia, and pro-genocidal garbage has no place in an earnest conservative or centrist agenda.
Maybe that means I'm not as conservative or centrist as I think.
Doesn't matter. Did the right thing, 1000%.

If you are a conservative or a "centrist" you are more than free to come to NOLA and play.
I consider myself fairly conservative, to the point of centrism.
If you spout racist, queerphobic, transphobic, pro-genocidal garbage?
Yeah, this is not part of conservatism or centrism. Common human decency is not political.

Or, you know, I could lie here, wondering if I'm imagining that I've upset someone, or if I have and don't know how, and ... argh.

Unspoken expectations are premeditated resentments.

Who should be getting it, who shouldn't. Do we get it, does the billing staff? Do we get it at all? Then there's the fighting. Well you don't DESERVE IT! I don't even want to enter the building. I don't even care if it get it. I've been happy with the fact my insurance is being taken care of. And my mortgage. And all the smaller things. Once that check comes from the back pay, it'll be taxed anyway. I'm just over all of it.

As much as I love the setting for Mass Effect or really any space game, I always worry that the distances involved breaks up the playerbase too much.
Much like Arx, you can base the game in a single location, and have outward missions to other realms as PRPs or staff-run plots. The Citadel would be an ideal place to base the game, but so would Noveria. I think Arx's code-base lends itself just as well to exploring the Heleus Cluster from the Nexus.
The code's got everything I was conceiving of a few years ago, from a clue system to action points, to resource gathering. Adapting it would be a true labor.

Mass Effect with Arx’s code.
I said it.

I don't know, none of my professors at UMass-Amherst or SNHU ever had a problem with me, besides a single history professor at a 300 level saying I wrote a biased paper by not explaining the German side of propaganda, in justification, in WW2, on a class in European childhood studies, as a history major.
I'll be more blunt than my colleague.
Stop it. I'm not buying it. Back off the line.

I broke my 4+ month post abstinence merely to point out that I wasn't sure if people missed that he called it: "fighting charlie".
Some people still call it "the China Virus," so I guess I just tuned that shit out.
