I acknowledge that Space Engineers is 6 years old, but damned if it hasn't kept me distractedly entertained for the last two weeks.
I'm playing Endless Legend and it is really a breath of fresh air, holy shit.

To be fair, when women say this to me I don’t take offense.

You literally changed the way I felt about MUSHing after 20 years of doing it, from top to bottom.
Keep doing what you're doing.

It's posts like these that really explain a bunch about how you got to be the way you are.

So... parents shouldn't show an interest in what their kids are interested in or support them if they, the parent, aren't having fun?
I will clarify my peeve because I am miscommunicating. And I will do so in typical fashion.
Act III, Scene I
<< Ganymede and partner are sitting in bed on their laptops. >>
Her: Do you know what my sister is taking her kids to?
Me: << impersonating Jack Nicholson >> I'm an educated man, but I'm afraid I can't speak intelligently about --
Her: -- she's taking them to see Don't Let The Pigeon Drive the Bus.
Me: They made a movie about it?
Her: No, it's a live musical.
Me: Aw, fuck no.
Her: They love that book.
Me: They love KISS, but we aren't taking them to the concert.
Her: That's different.
Me: Of course it is. That's at least mildly entertaining.
Her: But my sister is taking her kids.
Me: Do we have to do everything that she's doing for some reason? If she were pushing her kids off a building --
Her: So, you don't want to go.
Me: No, I don't fucking want to go.<< Pause >>
Her: They'd love it.
Me: They don't even know about it! How do you know? Frankly, they will go to anything you are dragging them to because you are dragging them there. That's not the same.
Her: They'd love it.
Me: You don't know that right now. You can't know that. They can't sit through a movie for longer than an hour.
Her: They'd love it.
Me: They love ripping farts! They are six and don't know shit about shit.
Her: They'd love it.<< Pause >>
Her: All right, you don't have to go.
<< Pause >>
Me: Just get me a fucking ticket.
Her: You're a good parent.
Me: I'm a good spouse. I'm a shitty parent. But I never pretended to be a good parent.
Her: So you're pretending to be a good spouse?
Me: Pretty much.I am more than happy to go to t-ball tournaments. I help out with my boy's basketball team. I go to PT conferences. But we're talking about a fucking musical show which I know my kids never, ever, talk about after the fact. This happened when my wife dragged us to the Paw Patrol show and the Monster Jam rally. My kids are into Disney dolls and Transformers, and any pretense to the contrary is just utter bullshit.
Don't get me started on the Cub Scouts, something which the boy didn't even want to do in the first place.
Also, evidence that I'm a good spouse: she's seen The Rise of Skywalker, but I have not. Then again, from what I've heard --

RE: Good Music
Billie Holiday's recording of what later became a Frank Sinatra signature is breathtakingly different and preferable.
Before Bobby Darin's Beyond the Sea there was, of course, The Sea (La Mer).
Timeless music about love spans all languages.
Here's Florence + The Machine singing a cover of Stand By Me for Final Fantasy XV, which may not have been the strongest game but damn if it ain't the prettiest.
And if you've been waiting for this, here's the full, actual version to tide you over, which is just as badass.
This is your Winter Mouse radio re-mix for the day.

Like wtf is it with grown ass adults wanting their parents to save their ass from their own shit.
Wtf is it with adults wanting anyone to save their ass from their own shit?
My current peeve: middle class wypipo.
Specifically, there’s this MCW mentality apparently that parents should go with their kids to see things that have zero interest to adults.
Such bullshit.
Your kids learn from you. If you coddle and cater to them, they will never grow up. I would rather take my kids to a Motley Crue concert than a fucking Paw Patrol show, for fuck’s sake, because: (1) fuck Paw Patrol; (2) they are already familiar with the music; and (3) they would be the coolest kids in a school.
Conformity leads to dull thinkers.

It was more a question as to whether she could potentially do harm by making a spectacle (TV show) of it without a complete education.
I never thought you were making light of innocents.
She could do a lot of harm, yes. But she could also do a lot of good. She has the resources and connections to make a huge difference, if done correctly. She didn’t need a law degree to do this, but if it means that she can represent these folks in court so be it.
Think about what she could do representing an innocent person in court. And having it televised.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
Yeah, I see where you're coming from, but my response would also include: you don't get to stay with me.
And when she asks plaintively for an explanation, promise to give it to her after she holds employment for ten years.
Sister, after work I ain't got time for your shit. If you want to go to SXSW, do what every other adult does and get your own room, food, and transportation. Otherwise, prove to me that you can do all of the above, and I'll reconsider.
Be advised I am in a ripe, hateful mood today.

I do understand that there is no real 'damage' but with their 'reputation' might qualify?
This would only be the case if the content of the page were to insinuate that Ms. Blunt was actually a rabid serial killer. That would be more akin to defamation, which is where the line of cases related to "unauthorized use of likeness" draws most of its inspiration from.
I selected her because she has a rather 'disney friendly' image in some of her movies.
Do you remember when she was washing blood off herself in Sicario?
Anyhow, what I mean is, yes, I understand why an artist might be concerned, but there's something to be said about free publicity.
A public figure, which these subjects may be considered, may sue for the value of the use of their image. Given how the image was found online at a public site, one may easily argue that the value is zero because it was obtained for free. If the image had some value, like a nude photo, then there may be some sort of price tag attached.

RE: Image Attribution & Creative Commons
@Seamus said in Image Attribution & Creative Commons:
In most states, you can be sued for using someone else's name, likeness, or other personal attributes without permission for an exploitative purpose. Usually, people run into trouble in this area when they use someone's name or photograph in a commercial setting, such as in advertising or other promotional activities. But, some states also prohibit use of another person's identity for the user's own personal benefit, whether or not the purpose is strictly commercial. There are two distinct legal claims that potentially apply to these kinds of unauthorized uses: (1) invasion of privacy through misappropriation of name or likeness ("misappropriation"); and (2) violation of the right of publicity. (The "right of publicity" is the right of a person to control and make money from the commercial use of his or her identity.)
Unless I see evidence to the contrary, a claim for the unauthorized use of one's likeness for a character would probably be barred under the doctrine of absque injuria.

I think my initial take on it is I feel weird about her doing so before she's finished school / passed the bar. She's doing this show to free innocent people with an incomplete understanding of the law, so isn't there the risk of her doing more harm than good for these people?
Lots of people in the Innocence Project are volunteers without the ability to practice law. That does not mean they are not valuable. Kim isn't dumb, despite her persona, so I don't think she will do anything that might jeopardize her ability to practice law in the future.

I have none until I see it.
Good for her if her intentions and statements are true. There are too many innocent people in jail.
Shame on her if it's another one of her schemes.
