RE: Mira from Arx
The last time we did this. We went 118 posts and it was awesome. It's like UNO with words that rhyme or have the same lettering.
TOOOOOOOOR TILLA!

RE: RL Anger
@kanye-qwest What's pissing me off are the number of people that are saying things in my FB feed about how HEY, THIS IS HOLLYWOOD! or CASTING COUCH HAS BEEN A THING FOR YEARS!
Man, FUCK that shit. That's just downright infuriating, and what's even more infuriating is that I've seen women saying that shit.

RE: RL Anger
I overheard a conversation yesterday between two co-workers, a man and a woman, with them both remarking about how the women were "using Weinstein too" for their careers. I very quietly sidled up to the man later and remarked how it didn't matter, and that sexual assault is never okay, and not a bargaining chip
UghhhhhhOMFG You should never HAVE to explain that to people.
Rage.

RE: RL Anger
@mietze Oh, I understand that. I've understood this for a long time. While I think it's great that more justice and awareness is getting out about this, the real issue is that this is all far more pervasive than the general public is willing to admit.
I'm not shocked that it's happening. The stories just make my stomach hurt in the way that they should.
One can hope society will come out of this with a better understanding and more fairness.

RE: RL Anger
@arkandel Olivia Munn was the masturbation story. Henstridge is alleging a forceful act against her.
What I feel about this is...what is the proper response? I'm not talking about how to determine guilt vs innocence, but more...the sheer amount of clout the entertainment industry has in many of our recreational lives is fairly high. When you think of the scope, think of it this way:
When a player in the NFL does something someone doesn't like, a jersey gets burned, right?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Miramax_films
There's the Miramax filmography that encompasses hundreds of films from Kevin Smith, Tarantino, Gangs of New York, Bridget Jones, etc.
We're talking the X-Men films, Rush Hour(Ratner), classics like The Graduate and The Usual Suspects.
When you're talking about an industry these people used to prey on others, up to and including Feldman's allegations of Hollywood pedophilia, this could very well encompass and inject a feeling of negativity into whole decades of generation-defining films.
We're nerds.
What happens if Roddenberry or Lucas come up in these allegations? Whedon. Whoever.
My point is, is that these things and industries people love, or have dreamed about, could very well be tied to a hidden society of obfuscated rape.

RE: RL Anger
@arkandel Oh god, this thing is exploding. Dustin Hoffman, Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Piven. Recently some horrible behavior by Brett Ratner was revealed by Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge. It's horrifying.
It really bothers me on a human level the number of Hollywood insiders who knew about these behaviors and tendencies for years, but nothing has been done until recently because no one wanted to get blacklisted from the industry.
That just makes my belly hurt.
I read that Robert Rodriguez cast Rose McGowan in Planet Terror (Miramax) against Harvey Weinstein's wishes just to spite him.

@Arkandel Siiiiiiiiiiigh.
The worst part about this, is that his job involves using gravity and physics with a round ball.
He holds in his hands, daily, a physical representation of the way spin, rotation, and gravity have the natural inclination to create spheres.

White Wolf Street Fighter
Did anyone else play this? I love this game and system, and have most of the books. I think it's the best WW ever did combat-wise.
An article came out recently on the history behind White Wolf's mostly forgotten Street Fighter RPG.
It incorporated a semi-standard White Wolf character sheet, but your fighter would learn attacks, defenses, and maneuvers that would add or subtract dice to rolls. Then you and your opponent would place your move choices for that combat round on a card, face down (and not be able to change your move). When your point in the initiative came up, you'd flip your card.
A great example is: My Shotokan Karate fighter finally learned to fireball (Ha-Dooooken!) and the other player I was fighting in the tournament placed his card down. I put my card down. With a fireball move on it.
When the cards flipped, my opponent JUMPED and I fireballed. So I missed. !!!%&;**=,

RE: The Hockey Thread
Wow. So that happened.
My Yotes got their first W against the other team I follow.
On some level I both won and lost last night, but I think it counts as a net win.
