RE: The Crafting Thread
@JinShei Patterns always need better instructions. That's one of the immutable laws of the universe. Along with there being a wrong instruction in every single pattern.
Looking good, though!

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@kk That sounds like a combination of hell, sheer hell, and pure hell. I don't envy you in the slightest. I do understand, though, as a key worker and carer for someone at-risk. Stress is no-one's friend right now, and for those of us who have to carry on as 'normal' despite being in a completely abnormal situation, it's hard work.
Feel free to contact either one of me on Arx if you want RP when I'm about; Raymesin is the obvious one, but he's not to everyone's taste.

@nyctophiliac Intelligence doesn't mean critical thinking, common sense or anything else like that. I've seen any number of ludicrously intelligent people who hadn't the wit to come in out of the rain.

RE: Focus in Competitive RvR
To be honest, I'm not sure it really matters what the scale of the conflict is as long as there are enough levels of conflict to go around. If all the conflict is where only a few people can get at it, there's going to be a lot of boredom going on.
In my opinion, it's more important to have a reason for your warring groups to have something to make them all come together, and give them a reason to RP something other than fighting each other. It doesn't matter whether it's a neutral city containing the school of magic for the known world, that one bar where the bouncer's a dragon and the barmaid a god but the beer is so amazing people will come back from the dead for another pint, a big external threat that wants to eat the the world, an invading army in the hundreds of thousands, or the empty vastness of space that neither knows nor cares that they exist. There needs to be a reason to come together as well as a reason to fracture apart along the faultlines, or your playerbase becomes scattered and divided.

RE: MU Things I Love
When the scene was incredible while you were playing it.
When you edit the log and it was still incredible.
When you open up the log you already edited, just to read it again.

I've always been told that I'm a 'visual person' because I have to draw things out to 'see' them. I have to have them on paper.
I can imagine a 3D shape in my mind and rotate it to view all sides. If you can't, then there's probably something different in the way we think.
I can do the whole 3D shape and rotate thing, including how light from any given point will cast shadows and reflections if it's shiny, but I specifically trained myself to be able to do that. These things can be deliberately honed.

RE: The WoD Itch
Sheltering Sky exists, as old-school oWoD. It's a direct descendant of Metro, set in Colorado.

I am a clumsy fuckwit. I have been known to fall up stairs, to walk into doors, and hook my own belt loops on the door handle. I always have bruises, and remembering what caused them is a rarity. I'm so bad I could clumsy for England.
Today I have injured myself... while on a first aid course.
Only me.

@Alamias British Fest-style LARPs can be just as entertaining. I too have held a scorecard.

RE: PB 'realism'
I made and @desced a character. Then PBs became a thing on games that weren't Aether, and people came unto me and said 'I have the perfect PB for your character!' And lo, I told them to bugger off, no way.
Then lo, wikipages became a thing, and people came unto me and said 'I have the perfect PB for your character!' And lo, I agreed that Rutger Hauer was awesome, that the replicant was close enough, and this was permitted.
Then lo, I fell in with a new crowd, and they came unto me and said 'I have the perfect PB for your character!' And lo, it was Loki, and it was so perfect that I could doubt no more.

@Macha Blackwork. And it's easy enough - it's mostly counting. Give it a go!

RE: Le Deuxieme Etat
@Caggles Oh, I promise you, I would have been quite happy to stab the arses at F&H who couldn't see what the problem was. Unfortunately to get to them I'd have had to go to one of their main events, and that was a very long way on a very short budget for something that wasn't /that/ far out of the ordinary back in the 90's.
Hopefully female front-line fighters are more common now than we used to be.

RE: Le Deuxieme Etat
@Pandora Apparently attitudes are changing over time. Says someone Labyrinthe rules said was too short to be an elf and too tall to be a dwarf - and who Fools and Heroes said couldn't belong to any of the Knightly Orders except the Templars, who were the ones the rest looked down on. Can't think why I disliked either system.
@Caggles Looks amazing. Unfortunately I haven't a thing to wear (and a couple of other reasons too, but it does look amazing).
