I've been a bit worried about work lately; as you guys know, the job is still fairly new. One thing though might not know though that in Canada they can fire you your first 90 days for no reason at all (you can also quit without notice). Anyway, all this getting sick nonsense happened within my 90 days. I wrote in asking if there were any jobs that were web-based only, there isn't. BUT they have all my paperwork, and will get in contact with me again a week before I am scheduled to come back (Sept 1st!) which is passed the 90 days. Yay for not being fired! But still semi-not officially begging for money too. >.>

Like you said, it's kind of hard to avoid 'dogpiling' if your definition of dogpiling is 'multiple people disagree with me'. I don't feel that to be a useful definition.
That would appear to be your definition of it, as you have brought it up multiple times now, however it is not what I am saying, or I would have said as much.

That being said, dogpiling does happen on this forum, a lot.
It does. And I want to come up with a way to address it that's not worse than the original problem.
Having been dog-piled on, on former iterations of the board, for game stuff, not social stuff, I'm not entirely sure not dog-piling is possible. I mean the very first versions of the board were ostensibly made to post about the shitty / stupid things staff were doing on WoD games so people could mock and laugh at them. Dog-piling has been in every form of the forums, even IGU, though not nearly as bad. It's part of the DNA of the board. Sure, the discussions have been added to since that time, but they in no means have moved on. Especially since we, as a community hold on to grudges in a way that is in no way healthy.
Not saying it's a good thing, but it's still a thing. And let's face it joking about it being 1995 again or not, it doesn't change the fact that people being fired / removed from games because of whatever version of the board there is has been a thing. An extreme, stupid thing, but a thing because dog-piling has been a thing since the start in one form or another.
Plus I mean, Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory and all...
Because really, what are the consequences if you are an asshole to someone on the forum? Even getting booted isn't a deterrent for some people or you guys wouldn't need a thread that someone has been banned, again, getting updated every so often.

RE: MSB, SJW, and other acronyms
@insomniac7809 I guess my experiences with people who claim to be SWJ's come from things like gamergate, and while I know there are people out there who genuinely want to do good, I do, but I don't know why they would want to willingly be associated with the people who genuinely want to do bad.
Like, for example, if suddenly there was a flag that was associated with a thing let's call it WoD players, and then the people that represented WoD players were people like Spider, Rex, Elsa, Jeurg, Custodius, etc who all loudly did their thing under the umbrella of being a WoD player... Would you want to call yourself a WoD Player, or say you were an RPer and look how I'm helping all these newbies, or whatever.
I mean, I'm not saying I think people should stop trying to do good, I guess I'm just not a fan of labels?
Or like personally I don't like to call myself a feminist because of that extreme, and instead if I have to label myself anything, it's a humanist because I don't care what parts, colours, beliefs you have or where you come from, or any combination of the above, as long as you are a decent human being. I think everyone should be treated equally, and like a human. So yeah I'm female, and there's a hella lot of things not equal for us, but there's a hella lot of things not equal for everyone too, so feminist doesn't cut it for me. And that's aside from all the gross (for me) connotations about it.
TL;DR I'm weird, I guess? They do them, and I'll do me, and we won't do each other, probably.

RE: Inspiration material for your current game
Supernatural, specifically the apocalypse setting, but the series, anime, books, all the lore written around it.

@ganymede Why can't it be both, and a finishing move?

RE: MSB, SJW, and other acronyms
@insomniac7809 I get that, I guess I just don't get the people who want the label and are trying to take it back. I mean, does doing good need a label? If you stand for something, stand up for it. I'm not saying being an SJW is a bad thing, but if I ever used it, it would be using it on people who are already acting like asshats in the first place.
Again it goes back to the whole intent thing and not really being able to read tone in writing.

RE: MSB, SJW, and other acronyms
I mean in all honestly, I see SJW as a slur. Well slur is probably strong. I honestly get wanting to make change, and make things better for people, but the people who have adopted the title, the vocal minority of assholes have ruined it. Kinda like how the Swastika was a luck symbol, I don't understand why people would willingly say they are a SJW after most people view it so badly. So yeah for me, if I ever were to call someone an SJW it would be meant as an insult.

Dear NodeDB, don't give me the option to purge a post when I double post and then say I can;t do it because I don't have the permissions, you tease.

RE: MSB, SJW, and other acronyms
@deadculture I mean there are people on Twitch who do Origami, no clue if they swear or not though, but if they are an affiliate you can send them bits among other things.
@auspice As I said earlier to @surreality that people will literally watch anything, you just need to market yourself to get people who would not normally be interested to watch.
There are streams where people just eat. Nothing else, but eat.
People will watch you knit and or do origami and swear.
Also you can set your stream 18+ and then they have to agree. Just don't go off on a racist rant or anything.

RE: Shameless Self-Promotion part IV
@packrat Do you have Windows 10? Because Windows has become more and more of an asshole since 7 when it comes to sound. Windows 10 likes to update and reset things back to default it has no business touching. Check your playback / recording devices as well as whatever you are using to stream / record, but also if you can record something and play it back to see if you are being picked up, but it's not telling you. If it's still not working, feel free to poke me wherever is easiest.
-
RE: MSB, SJW, and other acronyms
@surreality Practice makes perfect? But also, take it from me, people will watch anything You just need to market yourself well.

@surreality Clearly it was because your hair was green, and not blue or purple. Green washes out so fricken fast!

@saosmash I've been called a cheeky cunt by angry Brits during a Planetside 2 army operation. Does that count?
This right here is why policing language on a forum on the internet is pointless. Words are tied to culture, and this is not a US centric forum, and going along with the intent of a word; a Brit calling a person a cunt will be much less scathing than an American using it.
FWIW people can call me an Americanized Cunt any time they like... in the Hog Pit though, please.

The Very Stable Genius very political, but I don't honestly feel like getting that tag just to post it somewhere. This man is a genius when it comes to putting political satire to musical theatre.
My dream colab is Randy Rainbow and Weird Al.
