      @auspice
Is this even necessary? And what is it with all the new tv shows coming out having to be edgelord emo dark? I mean isn't this what the very premise of that SYFY show The Magicians was? Except it had more people?

@insomnia Well. I mean in all fairness it IS the Colonial Marines of X-Com games.

A Cave Story for $11 is much better than X-Com Declassified for free.

Yeah I felt the level of excitement for the Avenger's trailer I wish I had for the Starwars trailer.

    • RE: Characters You Enjoyed Playing

      I had two.

My first was my first MU character actually. An 8th gen Ventrue. He started as the ghoul to the Prince's Childe and was Embraced by her on-grid. And from there became strong enough to control important portions of the city on his own after she was murdered, broker deals with other vampires, and became powerful enough to give the werewolves and any eastern vampires second thoughts about attacking him.

My second was my Barakumin Nosferatu. He was a monstrous graveyard dweller that drew in as many people to interact with him as he drove off. I think my only regret with the character was getting more into the politics of the game than I liked. He had a lot of great interactions.

@arkandel That might be more interesting than it sounds.

Speaking of James Franco has anyone else seen The Disaster Artist? I was surprised by how good this was.

That game has come a long long way since I first reviewed it in early 2014. I am glad to see the devs are still supporting it.

I've been keeping an eye on this game. It is going to be a good purchase when it goes live.

@arkandel I will second this. It's a good movie that did not get a lot of attention.

Going to toss this out here, Valerian: City of a Thousand Worlds is a grossly underrated and yet enjoyable sci-fi flick. I like what they accomplished with it.

You have a problem but I can relate.

I stopped watching after the mid-season finale when the showrunners changed at the start of season 4 and they brought in new writers. One of the things that I praised about the show in the first 3 seasons was they were doing a very good job in their writing of avoiding a lot of the common horror show/movie tropes, especially the "stupid human y u do dis" one. And 4 was just gunned down with them. I came back in season 6 and noped out 3 episodes in hoping they might have learned.

Sounds like time for you to pull the ripcord on this one.

@arkandel I read that same rumor but I could not find anything to corroborate it so I did not just want to toss it out there. But he did leave the directing spot for the movie, and I think Kevin Smith gave a pretty good reason as to why. Because whomever directs and makes the next Batman movie will have their movie held up against The Dark Knight, and Affleck did not want to take the hit for the next Batman movie that would have to suffer that comparison, especially in the direction the DCEU movies have been going.

@tez said in Reasons why you quit a game...:

Every game I have quit was due to staff acting in a way I found unethical.

This is mostly it for me. Staff seems great at the outset but the longer you play and the more the curtain gets pulled aside the more things you see and experience. Most of it being emotional instability masking some kind of mental deficiency, outright lying, or directly cheating. Its worse when it is one bad staff person among a troupe of great staff people who somehow goes unnoticed.

@arkandel I think Batman is having the same issues as The Flash as far as standalones go. No directors interested.

He did yeah. In fact there was a news blurb in the movie that called it Ocean's 7-11 and I think it was right. It was great.

      So in non-comic movie news:

I just saw Logan Lucky a day ago. And I found it to be a fun movie to watch. Not something to take seriously but it was quite enjoyable for what it was. I recommend it.
