@Kanye-Qwest I will look into this. Thanks! Because they all have birthdays within a week of each other and last year it was birthday fruit tarts but it's just the same without cupcakes and those were a huuuuge failure. Her mom is like "they always turn out for me" but I just stared at the sunken brick mess and I can bake/cook like no ones business and my souffles turn out amazing so... Aquafaba I shall see! Got any recipe?

RE: What do you eat?
man @Dreampipe was talking about it the other week, he tried it. I've been wanting to but funds do not allow!
I take care of a kid who is vegan. She brings her lunch with her, and I keep stuff on hand in the freezer for her just in case. Stocked up with vegan friendly snacks and on fridays everyone eats vegan. I try to match what the other kids eat with what she eats. So if her mother sends her with a vegan hot dog, the other kids get hot dogs, so she doesn't feel strange eating something different. Their sides are all the same because they get the fruits and veggies.
A parent brought doughnuts one day though, the doughnut holes and I felt bad because I didn't have something to sub in for that. But her parents told me to go ahead and give her one, it was okay, they understood raising their family in this way that this would happen and one doughnut hole wasn't going to kill her (It's a lifestyle choice for them as opposed to dietary requirement)
But now i'm trying to find a good recipe for cake/cupcakes because I tried the applesauce subbing and those cupcakes were bricks and horrible and they have birthday's soon enough and I'm determined to have cupcakes for her that are vegan.
But like someone else here says. Meat. Sorry. I love meat. God I love meat.

RE: Game of Thrones
@Rinel Yeah, I agree. I've said to dreampipe and to my rl husband more than once, that they really needed about 3-4 more episodes to make everything fit and not feel very much like there are transitionary pieces and moments that got left on the scrap heap of script writing.

RE: RL Anger
@Taika didn't even see what you wrote so all good. In my imagination it was cupcakes and rainbows and million dollar lotto tickets.

RE: RL Anger
@Alamias i will be getting some. Kickstarts my return to ivxs every 12 hours and iv shipments and home care nirses unable to get fucking blood and just ugh". Just man, we have been religious as fuck about his foot. So it's just, really, after two weeks off antibiotics he was for two months, now this happens?
I get it with the migraines. Same here. Will crossmy fingers for you guys, they just suck. Hoping I don't get one this week at all.

RE: RL Anger
@Alamias like at least we have medicaid but I thought we were past this shit with the MrSA. But newp. Because why the fuck would I be allowed for two seconds to seriously think about driving to stay in a cabin with family for three days with no kids or dogs, changing diapers, scopping poop and worrying about bills because he was finally able to go teach some classes. But nope. Lost a daycare kid (their parent got let go) and now he is back in and this infection looks to have tunnel up his leg now. So more iv crap and back to lives run in 12 hour blocks and just fuck everything.
Did i mention I don't drive? So my bike is about to get heavy use because I sure can't blow 20 bucks a day on uber.

RE: RL Anger
My spouse is back in the hospital for the third time since december and I am keeping my shit together, my household and our finances together by a shiny fucking thread but I dearly want a break instead of having to be waltzing from one appointment to the next and having our lives ruled by his fucking foot. And I can't just give in because clients depend on me and mortgage don't get paid if I hide in my room and cry for a week.

RE: The Dog Thread
Tali is so smart, and so stupid. I can't afford 5k worth of fencing to contain a dog, but we put in invisible dog fencing years ago. Every 2 years or so though, I need to replace the line. No biggie. Over winter however, it died. A break somewhere and I couldn't go and re-lay it. We made do with sunken dog leads but occasionally she'd get out of the house and toodle around on the sidewalk in front of the house. Neighbour to the right would bitch for the sake of bitching. Finally I can pull up line, re-lay it so she can see the line, get the flags up so everyone can see the line is back. But we reduced where she can go. No more front yard. So we put flags around the area she can go but I didn't think I needed to put flags right up to the house. She's a smart enough dog to not need flags going through the raspberry bushes.
Remember this.
With the kids in the front, she's in the back throwing a hissy fit because she can't come be with the kids. I'm watering the grass seed for the patches and playing with the kids and I hear 'rustle rustle rustle' as 80lbs of rott/lab comes skimming the house right through the raspberry bushes like she's so smart. Big grin on her face. But I hear the collar. I hear it beeping.
See the lines have to go AROUND the house and meet back up with the unit in the garage to keep the line intact. If you want to cancel out a spot, you double back the line, twist it and it won't activate. Because the line sits too close to the interior of the house, from raspberry bushes to the mudroom, the line is braided. But it's not perfect.
Stupid smart dog saw there were no flags in the raspberry bushes between the garden beds and the house. So she went bumrushing through the raspberry bushes with the imperfect assumption that if she gets past it, she'll be fine and can join us on the front lawn.
Wrong. Doggy grin on her face turned to horror as the beeping on her collar stopped and she got nailed. And she about faced without even stopping and ran right back where she came from. We have it set to give her more than enough beep warnings before it nails her. Maybe once a year she forgets herself and ignores a beep or she thinks that squirrel was just worth it and bumrushes the line.
So now she's been pouting for two days now, upset that we dared to fix the line, dared to take away a quarter of the yard, and limit her freedom to 75% of the quarter acre that we own. Nose nudges to take it off. Sits on the patio and glares. It'll be a week before she sucks it up and goes on the grass and she'll give the flags wide berth. I put flags in my raspberry bushes to remind her.
so smart, and yet so stupid.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
@Rinel You know, that was my complaint too about an otherwise good movie. I was like REALLY, we need to go there? To pointedly have all the females gather in one section and be like "It's cool, we got this, GIRL POWER"
:sighs:

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
Our clients moved to a brand new subdivision that is halfway still being built. There's no tree's, no fences, half the places have lawns. I can hear -everything- and -everyone- from god knows how many streets over and the wind just smacks the house and it's so annoying. Utterly annoying. And they have no curtains up so their neighbours can see everything. They've been here a week so they haven't gotten some stuff up yet. Like curtains.
My kingdom for some fucking tree's to provide a wind and noise break.

RE: MU Things I Love
When something gets slipped into an utterly mundane action (Plz use my +secret to bump the quality of this item plx kkthnx., that sort of mundane) that makes you go Ooooh. @Darinelle I'm looking at you. You made my morning delightful and I'm running with it all the way to the RP bank!

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
This conversation reminds me of this.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@Macha Contemplate trying on a longline bra. Also, if it's a matter of the inner materials, find a bra you like that fits, and then take it to a seamstress with some soft baby flannel etc etc, and have them sew it to the inside of the fabric if it's a matter of texture.
-
RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@Aria that site combined with i think the site is "a bra that fits" that has you do a bunch of measurements laying down, standing up, bent over, etc etc. They produce a pretty accurate sizing and can also via those number tell you if you have shallow boobs etc etc and what to look for.
Those two sites keep the ladies in style and comfort and not frumpy and matronly and all on budget! Especially for us larger bust gals.

RE: Buttercup's Playlist
@buttercup Send alarissa back that darn compass so I can adorn it properly :sobs: It's killing me knowing it's out there with no proper adornments on it.

RE: RL things I love
@Pandora Oh thank god I'm not the only one who does that. My husband thought it was weird and "bound to burn the house down" and I just look at him and roast the marshmallow anyways.

RE: RL things I love
@Auspice Yeah, you need like an 8 inch throat to handle even quilting. It's why when I had money years ago, I got the Singer Quantum, because it had a really generous throat and I could do a queen with just some tight rolling and adjusting how I basted and pinned and dear god I just realized how dirty quilting sounds....
