@admiral well she won't be an issue. She went on vacation, ditched her kid with a family friend and after telling me he would be coming, he didn't show up. When queried when I should expect him, am told not till the 19th as they are on vacation. Oh, well. Then I will accept payment as regular as per policies since I had no notification.

This chain of conversation with her has resulted in termination of care for her son because she said this wasn't her problem but mine. she doesn't like that i charge the flat rate price for 12 hours of care for a mentally disabled 16 year old who need as much supervision as a toddler, a really heavy duty medicine regemin and that that I am being unconscienably mean to a cash strapped single mother who is in the child care industry herself and can't I make an exception this once or otherwise she will not be paying because I am ruining her vacation. That no daycare charges when a kud doesn't go or is on vacation and not present (newsflash, industry standard actually which is why it's a policy.)

Told her she wasn't the only cash strapped single parent in my daycare, just the only one who didn't make arrangements beforehandand we had been making exceptions and not charging her late fee's when late paying or not terminating care when her son stole our cell phones then charging cords. Gave her termination papers, told her she still owed two weeks worth, have a nice vacation.

I met someone a few years ago MU'ing. Thrown together oddly by @Gingerlily Fromt hat blossomed a pretty damn good friendship through thick and thin, someone my husband calls my work wife/second spouse. Just a super great friend.

Moving to another country hasn't stopped the phonecalls even. She still calls when her work day is done and I have finished putting kids down for naps. She travels for work and makes sure I know where her flights are landing, and when, so that if god forbid something happens, someone knows where she was and when. And food porn. She always sends me picture of all the food she eats on business trips. She's got my back, I got hers. Thanks for that hook up way back when Gingerlily.

My laptop met death by leaky sippy cup of almond milk yesterday in a cascade failure of perceived kindness. All afternoon and evening, we ressurected a really old one that barely functions. I hadn't talked to work wife in days as she was business tripping it. All she had to go on was a post to a game, with my scarcity due to laptop death. I'm elbow deep in dogs and toddlers and 911 emergency dog dropping in for some folks who's booked sitter either just dropped the ball, had something happen,who knows but we're running around town taking care of a bunch of dogs we didn't expect to take care of, including one out in the countryside, ass end of nowhere.

I get back into service radius and there's a message waiting. She's ordered me a laptop, it'll be there next friday. That while it may not be an emergency to me, it is to her.

I love my work wife. I love my Katey. My best friend who has my back, thick and thin. So yeah. RL thing I love? The kindness of other strangers (Seriously there were some very generous strangers) and my work wife. So now, I just gotta hang in there on a laptop with missing keyaps, missing mouse button caps, hangs up on itself every five minutes for about 8 seconds, and whines about windows 10 and reminds me that she's a 4 ram girl, and why am I even....

I'm a blessed person, with good friends.

I saw wrinkle in time. Never read the bookn summarily enjoyed it. Thats it. Same as Black Panther. I saw it, i enjoyed it. I really couldn't care less about any social or intellectual conversations possibly gotten from it and plights of whatever.

It's a movie. I found nothing wrong with WiT. I enjoyed all of it. Meg, charles wallace and his supernatural precociousness. It was indeed a kids movie, thoroughly aimed at kids and to be entertained by them with no real slipping in of adult stuff. Aubt beast had me smile, I enjoyed Galifinakis thorough, even oprah and I'm not terribly fond of her. Costumes were gooooooorgeous. Seriously. I really do hope the one dress was a bedsheet.

@admiral yup, pretty much. Because i am not comfortable installing windows myself, but my dad flips houses. Win win. I get a pair of new basement windows that are not 60 years old and to see my parents and take some of my two weeks holiday. It sucks for them, but tgats life. I take 2 daysholiday outside of statutory, thats pretty good considering most daycares in the area take the bank holidays too and between christmas and new years. But i will word it that way. Thanks

Fuck you husband and "doing me a favor" by doing laundry and not thinking to say 'hey honey, where's the new fabric softener" nope. he went digging in the back of a cupboard and found a bottle of shitty store brand that he bought one time a couple years ago that I reacted to and washed all of our bedding, our furniture covers, and a load of my clothes.

Now I have itchy bitchy blisters all over my hands, between my fingers, around my ears, nose and in a week, I'm going to start looking like a zombie. Fuuuuuuuck him and his favor.

Upside... he now has to do the dishes since no way in hell can I do them right now. Guess he pays a price.

@surreality mine was me being asked by a customer if I really was pregnant after asking my assistant manager if i was in actuality, pregnant. Couldn't miss it. I was picture perfect beachball horribly pregnant.

"I am smuggling a chinchilla" was my answer. I was annoyed. She bought her new purse and left unhappy. Stupid question, stupid answer.

@admiral I ended up texting her, referred her to the policies and where to find the relevant one and that she still had a balance due and please pay it as soon as possible. She paid the balance last, unhappily, with the "daycare was closed but I still had to pay" in the comment section. I was unimpressed. You still gotta pay in the big daycare centers, you are a nanny and getting two weeks paid vacation, so why the hell am I not allowed my paid vacation says scheduled in a way to nit overly inconvenience you?

They won't like october. My dad is coming down for canadian thanksgiving which co-incides wuth tge two days off from school for columbus day holiday. Usually i have the kids all on school holidays. Nope, not this time. Closed to fix windows and bathtubs and see my dad for the first time in 12 years. Find someone else.

My client underpaid me. Itxs flat ratechildcare. It's written in the contract and policies. You only get a discount if I am sick. Period. So i wake up to being shorted what she perceived to be one days pay.

While I am on vacation. I just don't want to deal with her shit while I am on vacation. I really don't. I take 2 fucking days a year to get away from kids and dogs. Why could she not have paid the full fucking amount like everyone

Looks like I get to send a message to her and now debate if I tack on the five dollar fee or not for late payments. And i bet she will try this next week too.

I sat two male dogs today. I have never had these two around each other before, but they're both return clients.

Fucking pee patrol. I'm STILL smelling pee. I have washed this floor I dunno how many times and I'm pretty convinced they marked the mesh baby gate and just... The one would mark, and then the other would come up behind and mark, and then a new spot to mark, and around and around and around and OH MY FUCKING GOD I CANNOT WAIT FOR THEM TO BE NEUTERED. Seriously. I love them both but at some point I just followed them around with a mop and bucket and my husband watched the little ones. Pee on the little kids workbench? :sigh and takes it out to the pool to dunk it because it won't fit in the dishwasher: pee on the alphabet puzzle mat? :shoves them all in the dishwasher and puts it on sanitize, puts them in a corner of the livingroom only to turn around and they are peed on again:

They only stopped when we crated them. This was a game. I swear to god. I'm so pissed. And the one owner is so embarrassed, she told me she was showing up with a basket of cleaning products as an apology because normally her dog is super cool - Poodle/pyreenese, behemoth of a dog we've been watching for a year - and doesn't pee inside. But ...

I still smell it. I don't get it.. WHERE ELSE DID THEY FUCKING PEE?!

@surreality Oh, I hands down mentioned it. These flags are requested by property owners, and I think they do pay for them? Something like that. But we had to inform about the broken support, and then I noted that the guy at <insert address here> was being verbally a challenge and rude. They told us thanks and that's it. The guy wasn't out waiting for us to pick up the flag though. Thank god. We like that route. Perfect amount of houses, perfect alignment of roads then straight down the road home. We've been doing this for three years now. I do not like getting my ass up at 5 to cook breakfast for the family, make sure the shirt is pressed, and everything perfect to haul ass out for 6:30 and run around on my knee's, poking around for sunken pole holders (oh my god this sounds pervy) in someone's green grass. But I do it. Because it's service hours, it's a way to give back, it's good for the soul and it's a way for my son to keep going to scouts when we can't afford it, and pay for him to join his friends at camp (Because we can't afford it. There's a theme). 100 bucks to sleep in a mine? 75 bucks to travel and sleep on a submarine/some sort of boat. That shit costs money but everyone goes so, we get up and get er done. So one down, 5 more mornings/evenings to go. Worth it.

And yes! the gd damned SCREAMERS! There's one a block over at 7 am who pulls that shit till I went up one morning and said knock it off before I go knock on his door. His mom came down the next morning to rip us a new one, till I told her what her son does.

A bedroom community of our city does an Avenue of Flags deal. Really cool. There's routes, you set up flags in front of people's homes. Scouts (Our son is one and we heavily volunteer) gets paid to go do these flags, to help offset camping costs.

I hate memorial weekend. Because almost every single fucking flag hole is buried under people's new grass. Or they fucked over the post it goes into and the pipe is bent, or the white cap is shattered, or they just laid down god knows what and my hands are covered in chemicals, or some veteran is parked on his lawn and yelling that we didn't get there before 7 am to put in his flag and that's a disgrace (This one guy!). We're veteran's ourselves. We get out, we locate the cap, we put the flag in, my son salutes and we go to the next address. We are a tiny little sedan with fifty flags (These poles are loooooong and they reccomend vans/trucks but always are short one route and we take it with our sedan).

I swear to god, I'm telling them to remove us from route 3. I won't abide being yelled at by that asshole.

It is not. The rest of staff got busy with life and it's no fun to run a game alone. But if you still want the theme, some folks make Marsilikos. You can find that somewhere on here actually.
