@JinShei OMG!! I kept staring at your name thinking...that's so familiar. SO FAMILIAR. OMG YAY! And of course I say hi back! But not hi...more like OMGHIIIIIII
I'm still trying to persuade himself to play. The man insists that he will only play if he can play a weretapeworm... sigh

I would be interested in a Discworld game, but...
I don't trust myself or other players to play to the super high standard of the books. I might be a massive fanboy.
I doubt many people could play to that standard but we can play with the spirit of it.

bad anxiety with making a character in fs3
I had someone else take over stating my characters in the first two ares games I played. The third I took a roster, then once I knew people were nice (@JinShei and @L-B-Heuschkel to be specific) I took the dive to do it it myself. That was positive enough that I've done it myself multiple times now.
Thanks for the name check, babe. Xx
Always happy to handhold if you need help, Cobalt. I've dmed you on discord. I'm drifting a bit but need to log into TC or GH more. (work is insane)

RE: Interest in a Discworld game?
@saturna Definitely an alt limit, if only for my own protection. I'm thinking 2-3

RE: Current Games
Comux - A good friendly superhero mush in beta. Non-canon, accepts OCs. Nice player base, staff are friendly. (6th-age.net: 6006)

RE: RL things I love
@auspice my family have been boxer people for generations, and I hinted I might get a puppy from my secretary's bitch, but got stared at. Glad of it though because Harley! There are some cute puppy pounce videos too...

RE: Interest in a Discworld game?
@faraday I've asked himself to make a musoapbox login, and he is on your discord as well. Expect to see Kryptykfysh. He is currently doing what coders do and looking at the code
Currently, I'm thinking that since I tend to run very consent-based games, we can use a stat for the magic ability and let the players roll that if they contest, in a similar way to Gray Harbor and their glimmer. Then the method of the magic is down to the character type - i.e. witches can add headology or herbology, and wizards add some form of arcane rituals...
Otherwise I might go with fate again.
Thieves, assassins, beggers, fools, witches, wizards, priests, warriors. Missing anything?

If you like Dresdenverse Dark Spires is quite good. Nice and helpful players, cool staff. Little tolerance for drahmaz.
Why thank you

But it does run FATE which some folks don't like
True, people who have played other systems for a long time struggle a bit sometimes

RE: Interest in a Discworld game?
That sounds reasonable. We've moved to looking at GURPS discworld, to see if that can be made as a Ares plugin, since it is designed to be discworldly! I can tell himself is looking at Ares since I can hear the code mumblings just to my side.
Edit: GURPS copyright seems to make it not easily transferable. Leaning more fate-wards

RE: Discworld: The MUSH
Good plan! I've done some fixings today to give us a difference between the two games. I doubt many playing the mud have noticed us - I know for sure we haven't surfaced on the staff boards.
But I'm content enough to declare us out of alpha testing and into beta... We have three plots on the go, and both an assassin and watchman in trouble!

RE: The Work Thread
Submission day for my module. 60 students. Submission point IT is down.
All of them are phoning/emailing/visiting me in a panic.

RE: Discworld: The MUSH
If you are waiting for a nice easy plot to jump into - I am running scenes this weekend for a on-the-street plot that takes nothing to be in, apart from being on the street!
If you are waiting... what are you waiting for?

RE: Good TV

Watched first Picard. Also worth it.

RE: Interest in a Discworld game?
Some of my friends have stopped reading more than one book a year, to make them last. I just obsessively listen to them...

@Thenomain ...maybe, but @JinShei and I spent a while talking about it too. Poor girl's gettin it from all sides.
And the lovely Exeter from DS explained it to her so she is giving it a go Fair play, it is hard to risk a new system so...
