Thank you. We sent the rescue dog we sponsor a soft blanket and a toy... and got a letter back that pathetically made me all sniffly. I'm reduced to cuddling patient's dogs

Part of this is because, as mentioned, Ares is still in beta. There are many configuration items, and sometimes it's not as tolerant as it should be to improper settings. It's continually being improved, though.

But as you know (but FYI for others), most cases are easily resolved on the Discord. "I changed the foo settings and now I'm getting this weird error on app review." "Oh, it's because xyz is blank." Having detailed error logs makes it easy most of the time

Yup! My routine is "Undo what you just did and work out why it did that", and then "screenshot and send to discord with wail for help"

I used to work with social workers who would send me a long, rambling email and then two minutes later come to tell me what it said, with added details, when I was obviously flat out. All I wanted for them to tell me was the problem, and what they wanted from me. Just the facts. I don't need to know that the patient gave you biscuits and tea. They also persisted in stopping for morning and afternoon tea (a very Aussie workplace thing it seemed to me), and social events and ... oh god, the forced social interactions.

(I use spoon theory at work to illustrate to my patients why they should all delegate where they can)

@Tinuviel off-topic. A friend of mine used to use his to test things. He was coding a room with x number of npc autoattack guards in it. Those needed to be recreated when room loaded but he forgot a line to remove the old ones... Logged in, was attacked by many guards, mud crashed.

OK then.

• My favourite food is cauliflower cheese. It is my comfort food but the shop bought ones don't have enough cheese or pepper in them so I either make it or add more.

• I am dog-mad, and was raised by dog-mad people. When I showed my newborn baby to my grandfather, he said she had too much white (bad thing for show boxers) and asked if I had had her docked yet.

• I also have a collection of romance novels, because they are popcorn for my brain which works too hard all day. I do love real books though, for more long term reads.

• I do have tattoos.

• I was raised by social workers and now have a pathological reaction to people telling me too much fluffy detail. Just the facts please.

• I'm allergic to wine.
