@Thenomain i could not care less if npcs engage in ts. But it should be in the interest of the plot and the characters, in the way that i think ALL npc rp time should be in the interest/service of the plot/characters of the game.

My dad's not a bad guy, really. He fucked up pretty spectacularly, but who doesn't? He's quit drinking, and it has changed a lot about him.

RE: What do you eat?
FYI the impossible burger was the same price as regular burgers at the place I had it.
Also, the ethical concerns I see most re: eating meat here (IE huge factory farm industries and the wanton cruelty and environmental havoc they cause) are also a first world issue.
Also also India has pretty much the highest concentration of poor people in the world, and only 30% of that population consumes meat 'regularly'.
It is a first world problem created by the first world and systemically entwined with it. That does not dismiss or devalue the conversation in any way.

RE: Personal Agency for Personal Boundaries
Ok, yeah, I can see that - how having something in place that means you don't have to talk about the situation, or justify yourself, would make it easier to use.

RE: Arx's Elevation Situation
@Pandora god knows I'm not up to date but the issue used to be, a house can't reliably keep a holding that's like, in the middle of/surrounded by other peoples' lands. Adding an island would be one thing, but moving to an island while keeping a patch surrounded by House Grimdark lands wouldn't be feasible.

RE: Fandom and entitlement
@Ghost what ARE you asking for? There are dozens upon dozens of easily googled instances of people reporting being told "people won't see movies directed by/led by women", but are you expecting a mustache twirling interview where a modern exec SAYS that directly to like a reporter???

. A few games do explore other races/species, though, like Burning Wheel's racial mechanics with Elves having Grief, Dark Elves having Spite, Dwarves having Greed, Orcs having Hate, and Humans having Faith.
uh i have no idea what mechanic this is but it SOUNDS racist af, just from those terms. Never thought I'd be an elf apologist but EVERYONE SUCKS BUT HUMANS is yikes.

That said, comparing a volunteer duty to an obligation is like comparing apples to baseballs. The hypothetical man in this instance has no actual obligations that would cause him to miss work or suffer dire consequences.
I think that's part of @Ganymede's point, though.
Then I don't understand the point of saying a person with no obligations has a career advantage over a person with outside-work obligations. Obviously they do. It has nothing to do with gender.
The person who can show up more often, when asked, on short notice has the advantage.
Gany was using that comparison to showcase the sexist way men are excused for their extracurricular volunteering and women are blamed for their extracurricular obligations. It's right there:
***There is more definitely an employer bias against people's outside commitments, and I believe they are highly sexist. ***
I have never heard of 'Sorry, I'm not coming in today because I'm volunteering.' being an acceptable excuse to miss work in any vocation, for any gender.
I get 40 hours a year of paid time to do volunteer work! But. That's generally arranged ahead of time like vacation.

@Pacha aww. yeah it doesn't seem combative at all! Honestly, I'd like it, too. But it's definitely not a dumbledore situation. There are canon LGBTQ+ in the setting. Queen Alarice the first's real love was Lady Caithness. It's explicit in some clues, for sure, though I can't say /remember where else.

RE: What do you eat?
@Sunny peanuts and canola oil are both high in vitamin e, and George Washington Carver specifically worked with peanuts because he thought they were a good staple food for people needing affordable nutrition.

I posted mine really quickly and am now going back to read everyone else's entries (I didn't want mine to be influenced by what anyone else posted) and I am lowkey throwing shade your way for Brad not making your list. Contrapoints did though, so I'm half-tempted to go try and sit through one of her videos, but someone I staunchly disagree with on all-the-things swears by her so I feel pre-biased.i didn't do an exhaustive list because I was like the second post and pretty sure no one was going to read them all! Brad is in my subs, though, he is a literal treasure and a rare bright spot in the world!
Same with BDG from Unraveled. And I really like Contrapoints. Videos aesthetic as hell and not afraid to tackle controversial subjects/opinions with thoughtfulness. She has deradicalized nazis and incels, according to testimonies I've seen, and that's pretty great. Men need help.
My favorite BEAUTY CHANNELS though are lord John Mcclean and Raw Beauty Kristi. I miss Makeupstruggles.
ETA: good luck with the job

RE: Decriminalise Pretty
@ganymede Ed is absolutely supposed to be good looking. For a 14 year old I guess, IDK. He is drawn sparkling and dramatically ripping off a coat once or twice.
But in general, I think rp turns into microcosms of human behavior. Pretty in life is a privilege most everyone would like to have. Then it becomes a focus on people who aren't doing it right.
Just like life. Pretty people are desired, scrutinized, and then 'put in their place'.

HAVE YOU TRIED MAKING LISTS?
yes i have made so many lists
so many lists that i instantly lost or forgot, they are scattered around the four corners of the earth like a paper trail that leads only to my USELESSNESS and FRUSTRATION
