There are plans for LOTS more of that. Eventually (big eventually) we want the game to be welcoming even to people who have never used Telnet. That means CG, journals, support and tasks all available via web forms, and some work on the webclient to make it good.

@Glitch I saw it was down and just assumed you'd work on it when you realized.
If you see something, say nothing - and drink to forget.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
We do need those guides, and actually one of those wasn't even on the list so I am adding it. Thank you!
As for temp rooms: you're right, we don't have them. There will be an exploration system that will generate rooms of challenges/puzzles/fights etc for groups of people striking out into the wilds (or semi-wilds). I think ship combat (further out) will utilize the same system with a different skin. I don't know about temp rooms for PRPs, the idea is that you can run things on the grid or in those exploration rooms. I mean if you are going to PRP a gan fight or whatever you could just spawn those in the lower boroughs.
We definitely want people to do storytelling for others, and are going to have a feedback system, by which you can 'level up' as a storyteller and get access to more tools (such as NPCs/creatures, metaplot elements etc).

RE: Necessary tools for running plots as a non-staff player?
A lot of this is already doable in Evennia. On Arx you can see anyone's background, only secret stuff and stats are hidden.
I'm thinking of:
A different permission set or alternate ST bit people can log into which will give them access to commands and NPC spawning and such they don't have as players, but NOT give them access to things staffers can see, like secrets and granular system commands.
Group creation, so you can create groups of NPCs and commands to equip them/make them attack/whatever.

RE: The 100: The Mush
I dunno, I don't think people opening games to play what they want with their friends is going to kill this hobby.
But my real question is, where's @ghost's game of pure altruism, where staff is not allowed to have PCs and spend all their time making fun rp for regular players (who can then never become staff or they'll have to give up their PCs).

RE: Comfort Food...
I miss Whataburger. Mostly for the ketchup?! Which I realize is weird.

@Arkandel The disadvantage of an entirely player managed system is that there is no quality control and you lose your ability to ensure you are maintaining consistent theme.

RE: Feedback request, round #1
I agree that those are all problem behaviors, but spelling them out in such grisly detail would probably inspire some people, or worse: scare off people on the fence about giving this type of game a try.
That may not matter, I get that with WoD or any tt based game you might not be catering to new players, in which case, that's fine. It feels a little bit like venting, though.

It's flower talk, not butt play.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
Oh look, a Women's day email from my employer. Oh, look at that second line.
I would also like to thank all of MEN in our WWS&S organization that support the hiring and retention of women at XXXX. Your dedication to diversity has not gone unnoticed.
Wow.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Songtress We have a rule that we won't create a whole new house for just one CG, so to make one requires at least two people trying to CG into it. With the Velenosa faction, we had one fairly big house CG in. At least one!
But they are the sexy, tricky Mediterranean-flavored people. That has a lot of appeal.

RE: Lords and Ladies Game
Ignoring further attempts at derailment: I think a lot of it is the motivation and wherewithal to do ingratiating rp. Find some kind of hook, some sort of ego-stroking aspect of your character that you can use to get close to the people things hinge on, and get them hooked on rp with you.
I've had characters do in depth personal interviews for books/travel guides. I've had characters devise elaborate fortunes to tell for powerful people. Scherezade those mfers. Every rper is, at the core, a vain and undisciplined aspirant novelist.

RE: Good TV
The Defenders is, unfortunately, garbage. There are some good lines, and some good moments, and a nice wink at the audience saying "yes, we know Danny Rand is a raging moron". But ugh. UGH. CAN WE JUST STOP WITH THIS ENTIRE ANTAGONIST FACTION, IT IS THE WORST.

RE: Social Conflict via Stats
yeah, I'm not feeling that. Physical skills can and are used to 'arbitrate' pc/pc conflict, thus social skills need to be at least that effective.

RE: Star Wars: Dawn of Defiance
@Warma-Sheen Man if this was my game, reading this complaint would make me glad you 'checked out'.
Classic MU*er case of "you did a thing I didn't like and it felt unfair but instead of chalking it up to distraction or human differences I decided you are worse than Hitler and made it my life's mission to h8 u 5ever"
