@HelloRaptor Six figures doesn't = rich. It can vary depending on cost of living and how far into those six figures you are. And the cost of malpractice insurance often runs six figures as well.

The plastic surgeons on Botched are rolling in it I'm sure. And why shouldn't they be? Debakey was very well off, and why not? He was a pioneer and thankfully a wonderfully giving man.

Why would person who makes a lot of money but doesn't make it helping people be encouraged to donate money, but a doctor who makes their money helping people be expected to not be rich at all?

@Arkandel I agree. I was speaking about doctors contextually however. And Debakey did WAY more than just operate. My psych doc is worth her price and she gives me lots of support and goes against office policy when it comes to my refills because she knows I'm out of pocket.

The change to BMI is roughly 10 pounds. It's hardly a big deal. I'm not sure it made much of a difference, especially for people who were far more than that amount overweight.

There's been a change in the formula for scalability. It's a mathematical change but it didn't make much of a difference either. A few pounds.

BMI isn't perfect. There are statistical outliers. Body fat is still a good judge. As for heart disease and cancer? Obesity is a risk factor for both. By all means though, you do you and I'll do me. I'm just saying don't misrepresent things like 'I eat so little but can never lose weight' or decide it's cool to be cruel to skinny people or people who have lost weight.

@tragedyjones Good for you. You are too awesome and I don't even know you.

No one deserves to be put through the 'I'm totally breaking up with them...tomorrow' wringer. I'm just staying until I get some money, until the lease is up, for the kids, until xyz holiday...nope. It's selfish and not right to anyone involved, even the 'awful' spouse/so.

I'm sorry. This sucks. I feel for you.

@Ganymede Maybe. I know he's in treatment for PTSD and is looking to get VA disability so that makes sense. I try to be civil and polite but he makes me excruciatingly uncomfortable. There was a lot of gaslighting and other awful things. I have no interest in this whatsoever. I've lost a lot of weight and his compliments and wanting to hug me just skeeve me out. Wanting to go to dinner alone isn't something I want to do and I don't think I could. I think I would have the mother of all anxiety attacks.

@VulgarKitten has seen the crap he texts me. That alone makes me feel a bit less crazy.

In general, just thanks for listening yall. Holy hell he drives me batty. Not being able to understand his motivations bothers me. And like I said, he'll lie when the truth will do so asking is no help.

He does get visitation. She hates it but she's 6 and I raised her on my own. He didn't see her until she was 1, didn't get to take her away until she was 2 and didn't get overnights until she was 3. She has her own iPad with cell service so she can always call me and I always know where she is. And her being 6, she's more self sufficient. It's less worrisome now than it used to be.

And I didn't keep her from him. He was in Iraq until she was 1, then he had unlimited access to her but didn't like seeing me at all because I'm so awful and the judge put him on a step up plan which he consistently failed.

@Arkandel Because that's fucked up and disturbing. Even if you're not an animal lover, that's a sign of sick people.

I LOVE my gym. It's in an uppity area, lots of trophy wife's and whatnot so there's tons of hot girls. Sometimes they do really weird shit that's amusing. One girl runs on her toes. I don't even know. There's another that is doing HIIT and she makes for interesting people watching too. One I encounter every so often runs backward. We've got two fitness models and several seriously hardcore lifting chicks. Alllllll the people watching. The weights area gets busy but I go at cardio bunny times to avoid that.

I did get a couple Dumbbells for home though because I will not lift when it's busy. Nope. No no no. No. And all the New Years resolution people are out in force. But I love going to the gym, running, etc. it's a thing. A process.

@Cobaltasaurus I never will beat that. I love my diet cherry vanilla dr pepper. If you put a splash of heavy cream in it, it tastes like a melted milkshake. SO. GOOD.

@Thenomain If by serious business you mean lots of animated boobs and violence, then yes. But it also had a really good soundtrack. I had it on VHS. I'm so old. šŸ˜ž The magazine has it's moments as well.

I'm super late to the game, but Kat Von D Tattoo liner is LITERALLY THE BEST THING EVER. I'm so serious about it I have 3 of them. One was a premium sample out of something Sephora gave me, then I got another thing with another premium sample (specifically for that sample) and then I bought a full size because just in case. It's often sold out at both my Sephora's so what if they didn't have it. I WOULD DIE. For real, I'm sure I would actually die. This is life or death stuff here y'all. If you watch her tutorial on application, you will be shocked and amazed. It totally changed my liquid eyeliner game.

As an aside, her shadows are pure heaven. I have 3 of her palates. And Urban Decay Vice. And the Naked to go. And Smashbox Full Exposure. And random assorted other shadows. I never wear foundation though, ever. Not even a dusting of powder. I hate the feeling of it and I have alright skin.

      I have problems. Halp.

@mietze Go to a CIDESCO school or don't bother. Cosmetology is a joke. You're there to learn not to maim people, not spread disease, and get a license. Maybe also brand indoctrination. The art and meat of the skills are taught on the job. CIDESCO is for people who like meaty science. I had a small spa until my social anxiety became crippling and I went back to numbers. I also got tired of waxing dick but the money was insane. Guys. There's a home laser now. Use that. Unless you're dark skinned. Lasers are fucking racist.

Did you know accountant is a job title, not just a degree? I didn't years ago. I started off as a bookkeeper. I took a break to be an esthetician, went back to numbers. My last title held at a company was accounting manager. I only managed myself (and all our millions of dollars) though but it counts I guess. They were going to hire someone but then they folded because China stole our stuff.

I transferred what worked from my biology/premed college days (it turns out I hate people, I also buckled under the pressure of working full time and school full time) and I'm on the last leg of finally getting my accounting degree. Sometimes not going to college is ok and works out. I'm much happier with my numbers and I would have never ever ever ever picked being an accountant on my own. It's sold as something it doesn't actually have to be. You're not always stuck for forever in a closet counting beans or talking to the irs. Not are you a slick person scamming retirement money from little old ladies, unless you worked an Enron. Then maybe you did that.
