I woke up this morning, feeling like utter trash. My sugars were double what they usually are (and without any real reason, I had been sleeping, I hadn't eaten anything unaccounted for.. so what gives?) I sat up, and the room spun. The high sugar spins were in full effect.
So I texted the boss, told him I had to try and get my sugars down (test for ketones every time I had to pee, etc) until things normalized. It took 3 hours for my sugars to get them down, and then get them down further so I could eat. At which point, I sat down for a minute...and passed out. Woke up at 1:30, and told the boss that yeah, sorry, don't think today is going to happen.
The man knows I have not been to the doctor. This is NOT something I go to the doctor for - unless they tell me to come in, or the ketones test pops. (because that's bad) But he asks me if I have a Dr's note. I laugh. He asks me if I can go IN to the dr's office and see the doctor to get one. Now, my county is spiking with the new variant, even if it wasn't some whack ass fool's dream to think I could walk in and get to see someone. But what I do have is a note from my dr from earlier this month, explaining in simple ass terms what it means to be a T1 diabetic, and how I can need various things for hyper or hypo sugar levels... including rest.
So I emailed that to him. Suck my nuts, dude. I'm quitting on Friday.
ETA: Running a low grade fever. It all makes much more sense now (I had to find the thermometer)
