@solstice I've been considering one of the wide headbands that have the bluetooth speakers in them.

RE: The Work Thread
@ravengirl Interesting. They actually make the chair I linked, that I had settled on being the one I want to buy!
Also, I'm using my kitchen stepstool for a foot rest, and dear gods. Nope nope nope. I need something else.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@mietze I had a guy who had German sheps trained to act like they were going to kill you, when I delivered pizza. He kept promising he wouldn't do it again. I started carrying milk bones, and he screamed at me, then screamed at my boss when I threw his dogs treats to get them to back the hell off.
My boss: They weren't supposed to be out to begin with. If you have them out and order, she has my approval to do what it takes, or we can just not deliver there anymore.
I'd had guys try to grab me, I've had guys whip it out, etc etc. It got the point I would snort and laugh, and tell them I needed money, not cocktail weiners, no matter what it looked like. But yeah, not blacklisting the guy after repeated BS? Not cool.

RE: The Work Thread
@too-old-for-this They have one that has a footrest, too!

RE: The Work Thread
@reimesu No sweat!
@Sunny They've got the one I really really want, but only in pre-order. It doesn't even come out until May. (LoL Jinx chair). And my current chair isn't going to hold up for that long.
Also, they want me in the small chair for my height, but that's for under 200 lbs, and the dog jumps up to try and get my attention at LEAST once a day. He + my ass is over that.

@aria Yeah, my roommate had NO IDEA he was a rauchy MFer when he wasn't Danny Tanner.

RE: The Work Thread
@reimesu It is in my reply to Derp. The link is under the words New Chair

RE: The Work Thread
And of course, after complaining I can not budget 140 for a new chair right away.. I got a new approval on a credit card. Hah.

It can be sweet, but they have no sugars. (important things for people like me to know)

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@kk Try Bang or Monster?
-
RE: The Work Thread
@misadventure I have not. Simply because the chair needs to be replaced, and 140 + tax is hard to beat, even without the footrest

RE: The Work Thread
@silverfox That's awesome. There's a chair I super want someday, but that's a long way away before I can justify the expense. (Stupid Secretlabs and making a chair I want so bad)
My big 'want' for the chair is one of those ones with the foot rest part. I have short legs, so sitting in the chair properly at a height to the desk... and my legs get to feeling all weird. I don't have room under the desk for like an ottoman or anything. So it's been an interesting thing to try and find something to work in the interim.
The one I found isn't stupid expensive, and has over a 4 star rating, with over 9k reviews. But it's still 140 bucks or so that is just not in my budget, atm.
But now that I'll be WFH permanently, I need to make sure I have things that will make it tolerable. I can live without a better desk set up for a while. The chair is first and foremost. Then a new chair mat. Then a new desk.

RE: The Work Thread
I have decided on new office chair. It has everything I need, including the weight (I have to always keep in mind there may be a 75 lb dog trying to get into my lap.)
Now to figure out how to allocate the monies, when I am now between paychecks. Oi.

@solstice Also, if there are a lot of windows, the thermal curtains often come with some sound proofing. I thought it was bunk, until I got them.

RE: The Work Thread
Of course, this shortens the timeline I hoped to have. I need to replace my office chair /stat/. The one I have is 6 years old, and been through 4 moves, and it's just.. beat.
Damnit. But hey. New job! (I refuse to let go of that)
