Unemployment is being impossible to get through to. And then I get a call from my 'boss', checking in. Or so I thought. NOW they want to set me up to work from home, after three weeks of this BS back and forth. But he still doesn't know WHEN they will be getting me set up.
If he thinks I'm not filing for UE while I wait for them, he's out his mind.

There's certainly no sunshine today.
After two weeks of calling and emails and doing everything I can to stay in touch with my 'boss', and make it EASY to help me work from home (I've done it before, all I needed was the code for the app that would generate my access codes to protect information for the job) - I am officially laid off. Now they're saying last week and this week are 'paid leave' - Which means the time sheet I filled out last week was rejected for the wrong count code.
I was emailing the help desk as I was told to get it changed - Guy was a waste of time. Called the number when I got desperate because it was crunch time just before running payroll - girl took 15 minutes to get it fixed, my 'boss' approved it 2 minutes after that. After I wasted HOURS.
Why is it people think women in help desk and IT positions are less capable, again?
Argh.

@TNP Well here's a funny story.
You know how companies send you those emails about their product? Well I got one this morning, and sent a reply that was snarky as hell - figuring it's going to bounce back, no one's going to read it, etc.
I was wrong. She read it - and got back to me, and started the return before I even got the email (And gave me a month long free trial). Add in that I called my bank, and I will not have any overdraft charges? I'm pretty chill.
I signed up for a 14 day trial of Focus @ Will. It's supposed to help you focus better on what you're working on, by finding the music/sounds that increase your productivity.
I signed up on Friday for a 14 day trial, and then after that if I didn't cancel, they would charge me 150 bucks for a lifetime sub.
They charged my card yesterday - and put me in the hole. I can't get any answer from customer service. I'm pissssssed.
I also don't know what I'll do - because my boss has not yet approved my timesheet from last week. And I need that done before tomorrow morning, but I can't get him on the phone. Or in email.
My sister is now ASSIGNED to the Covid unit at the local hospital. So there is not even a little possibility of seeing her anytime soon. I mean, it gives me an excuse to avoid the stepmonster, but that's the sole benefit of worrying over her like crazy.

I have had a couple good landlords. I have had more seriously shitty ones.
I mean taking 4 months to fix an oven that was broken because of his own ineptitude. Taking over a week to fix a broken shower. He lived next door. His brother felt free to come knock on my door at all hours, looking for stuff. The landlord himself told me I was 'his type', flirted, etc. My utilities were included, until he decided he didn't like the amount he was getting every month, and tried to tell me he needed more than was stated in my lease. (I took him to court then, and won.) He showed people the apartment when I was getting ready to move out, without notice, and complained the dog was there. Where the fuck WOULD the dog be, when I had no idea he was bringing anyone over? Not to mention, I would have liked to know so I wasn't caught in my pjs.
Most of the other 'shitty' landlords were of the complex type. I get pictures of someone else's dog shitting just off my patio, because the office says if I don't clean up after my dog, they'll slap an extra fee on my monthly rent, when I walk him and clean up, etc.
So..fuck some landlords?
So there has been a confirmed case in my office. So I was told not to go, by my immediate supervisor. Since then, I can't get anything out of ANYONE, though I did send my letter from my PCP stating I can not go into the office as I am immune compromised.
Yeah. Still stressed.

Today, my supervisor informed me that as since despite the stated intent to hire me into the company I am still working through the staffing agency, they will not be setting me up to work from home.
No, they expect me/want me to go into the office to work.
They try to say that I won't have to meet any clients face to face, so it's not a big deal. Except I am a diabetic with other underlying medical issues, including being on immune suppressant drugs. The office is in a county building, that is still open to the public. If I am not meeting face to face - everything I do is on the computer and phone - so there is no logical reason I can not do everything from home, like my co-worker will be.
My immediate supervisor was upset when he called to tell me - he knows that if I catch this thing, there is next to no chance I will not be hospitalized due to aforementioned issues. He had me call the staffing agency, hoping I can find something to work it out.
I am being asked to choose between my job, and my health (and possibly my life). I am wildly stressed and upset.

Today, the staffing company I went through (the job wants to hire me on permanently, but clearly that's not happening just at the moment), calls me about my site being closed. I explain yes, but I'm being set up for WFH. They ask me if the company gave me any equipment to WFH with. I say no, I volunteered to use my own, to save hassle and time.
Well, apparently the staffing agency thinks I'm basically laid off until the office reopens. My boss at the company itself? Has NO IDEA wtf they are talking about.
Yay.
Having to listen to people who watched the "Trials of Gabriel Fernandez" wail about how no one did anything. ....People that did nothing and/or were completely oblivious to ME coming to school with bruises, etc.
