I'm wiping away a tear of pride that this time at least 1 or 2 ethnic and homophobic slurs were left out. There is hope for the future after all!

Lisse if you like serial I bet you will like Undisclosed, Criminal, and Reveal.

RE: Podcasts
Council on Human Function - a panel of varied medical practitioners (warning: may include some woo) do a collaborative case study. It's pretty fun even if you aren't in a health services field I think.
Criminal - more investigative journalism/crime mix. Varied topics
There's a couple of parenting podcasts I enjoy too but I can add those later if people really want.

RE: Podcasts
No Such Thing As A Fish - cute trivia/comedy
Sword and Scale - True crime
Savage Lovecast - Sex advice columnist Dan Savage's podcast
Undisclosed - in depth look at one court case each season, lots of first hand interviews/court and media tapes, etc. Very much like Serial (another podcast) but much more in depth.
Reveal - investigative journalism, different and highly varied topic each week
Outside podcast - pretty interesting topics of survival and adventure outdoors

RE: Politics etc.
Honestly the original rfk made me realize the importance of ethical and sacrificial staff to running a truly active political but oocly safe game.
I had been playing large multi sphere wod for so long my assumption of staff was largely that they were benign impediments and scaffolding help.
It was eye opening to see how much staff can have an impact--but also to see how high the bar truly is for sustaining things long term.

RE: Politics etc.
Rfk2.0 stripped away all CoI staff protections present in the old game without disclosing that (and in some case actively deceiving) to the playerbase.
It was not incompetence though one of the headwizzen took advantage of that perception; it was malice.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
Unbelievable.
While I'm sure that lordbelh could have phrased things differently, being human, banning him like that? That's enough for me to never darken the door of that game.
You guys have lost a mature, even-handed, inclusive player; who does not stir drama, play favorites, pass on gossip, etc--as proven across multiple years and games.
I'm sorry you were treated that way, lordbelh. Thank you for being open (and charitable) about your part in it.

RE: Forum Game Thread
In the great green room there was a telephone, and a red balloon, and a picture of the cow jumping over the moon. And there were three little bears sitting on chairs, and two little kittens and a pair of mittens and a little toy house and a young mouse. And a come and a brush and a bowl full of mush and a quiet old lady who was whispering "hush." And then the murders began.

RE: Forum Game Thread
All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. And then the murders began.
When in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, the earth being untamed and shapeless, God said, "Let there be Light!" And then the murders began.

General Hospital of Darkness. I like it.

RE: Logging your activity
I don't log unless someone needs me to (if I'm assisting or running a scene), or if there's something of major concern.
I just don't like it. It feels like clutter to me because I never go back and read them. I guess I am not very emotionally invested that way. My favorite moments in mushing are more from community and camraderie, not just the writing. So logs just don't move me.

RE: Posting Ads on Games
Don't care either way. It always struck me as kind of weird that those posts tend to come from guests or throwaway PCs. If you really wanted to make people want to come to your game, wouldn't it be better to have a person familiar with both games there to answer questions/help get people connected? Drive by postings are like ads you see barfed on webpages back in the days before all the scary info collection that make the ads at least make sense most of the time.
Even when I had no life, I still preferred to try games that had SOMEONE willing to vouch for them publicly!

RE: RL Anger
On the subject of unexpected people in the house, I did put a gun on my roomie's mother when she invited herself in while he was away on vacation and I woke up to hear her rummaging. This was in the hood in Minneapolis. Cheap rent, nice neighbors to either side, but a rough neighborhood. She didn't do it again even after I apologized.

RE: RL Anger
Probably the mormons would too but to be honest I think the kids they send around are just cute as a button and I don't want to scar some sheltered boy for life. All the JW folks I have encountered have been grumpy old ladies and weird dudes, with the exception of one young woman who was pretty personable.

RE: RL Anger
I wouldn't assume that new /boyfriend/ is totally new/a stranger to her.
But even if he was her bestie or someone she was cheating with for 5 years (hence the dumping by ex boyfriend) or a coworker she's known for a long time that now is a FWB...I would say regardless of fucking status, no one of any gender should be entering the apartment without the roommate being present unless you agree to it and are given a heads up. Not siblings, not parents, not best friends, not lovers, not anyone.

By the time engineers get out of engineer school they all have the same handwriting.
