Define sci-fi.
Otherwise you're just saying "nu-uh".
My personal, non-academic definition of sci-fi is anything that explores in a reasoned and at least moderately rational way, how humanity might be changed as a a culture, and/or in personal experience by the advances of technology and the effects of that advancement.
For instance, the Alliance Union Space setting by CJ Cherrhy qualifies to me as it postulates the effects of distance=time lag for culture in a limited FTL setting , producing an exaggerated lag time in communication, which speeds human culture change. The author likewise tries to convey a reasonable and rational change in human experience by very small culture sets in ships and the limits and necessities of living in space where you may not return to a given place for years on end.
As a counter example, I feel that the Humanity loss of Cyberpunk 2020 and similar thinking is usually so simplified as to be clearly a game balance mechanism rather than an exploration of what is human, and how can a changed body and capacities alter or expand it. Eclipse Phase deals with that topic better. EP is science fiction gaming in my opinion. CP2020 and ShadowRun are Science Fantasy, even before you include literal magic.
So define sci-fi in a way that makes it clear that cyberpunk isn't sci-fi.
It is critical to me that every player have the same opportunity for the same abilities and powers, especially when discretion is involved.
I usually get out because it is a fiscal hardship. I've never had a summons happen when I was at a company that would pay for the time.

Well, I think so, Brain, but if Jimmy cracks corn, and no one cares, why does he keep doing it?
As a species, we are bad enough about neglect. Purposeful actions are another scale of nasty.
Seems easier to just log onto one of the many private MU*s, and not worry about it.
But then you have no +pose recall.
DOTA2, League of Legends, Heroes of the Storm. LoL is your biggest, and they have implemented some stuff to reduce the nastiness of some of the community. BTW that community is MOBA players/video game players, nothing particular to LoL.
To be clear, not just for TS. While I advocate for an open shared story RP style, I don't think anyone needs a sense that they are not only being recorded, but that said recording is available to unknown persons should they be negligent.
Would Shadowrun be able to run a different genre? I know it would waste all the work on cybernetics and computers if it went out of a cyber-cable setting, but would the core rules be good to run fantasy? Star Wars? Mission Impossible?
Make it account to you when you enter a room where it is enabled, or when it is enabled, and make sure it can be turned off.
It would probably need a clear command, so you could clear your scene before logging out, and it wouldn't be a terrible idea to have it routinely locked to players who are in the log. Only a big public scene would start with /public going.
