Eh, no one seemed interested in talking about much of anything. The OOC BS was stacked pretty high too.

Perhaps my feelings Troy was a problem and an ultimate dead end for everything were out of proportion. The view I had from the inside as ad admin was pretty bleak as well. (I should note that I think that the view from inside seems worse than it really is, and it leads to a kind of burnout that no one but staff would experience, just by seeing so much of what is and isn't happening. Sorta like compassion fatigue.)

As long as that is your sole concern, you've answered. Thread conversations often need summation, especially when they are held over days, with many other threads including the rest of anyone's life. You can complain if someone isn't right there with your thoughts, or you can try to help things out. Only one actually helps get anything done.

Or you could answer the question, focusing on your own specific reply, and not what others have posted.

Think of it as a small niche matchmaking service.

TR spheres suffered greatly from everyone being allowed to have a character in almost every sphere. You had tons of tagalongs available, but they mainly cluttered up the landscape, made people feel claustrophobic, but weren't active until someone else was there to spoon feed them fun.

This was very true of Geist. That's why I took my PC and visited and was terrified by the vampire sphere.

It's not a democracy. Or a meritocracy. It's tyranny, in both it's positive and negative connotations. It's a brand you chose to purchase or not.

Side note: why not have a week cooling off period between freeze request and actual freezering. Link that with any caps only preventing a new PC if at that new PCs approval you still haven't started the freeze on whatever characters conflict with the caps.

Stop saying D&D. D20 Modern would be way better, has gobs of examples, and is still a terrible way to deal with supernatural powers. Yay I am a vampire class.

Death isn't the only option for writing a temporary or long term absence. It never has been.

Another approach, which lets the player understand just how much difficulty their absence created, is allow them to explain why no one could reach them, not with magic or contacts or anything. Makes them fit it into the RP continuity.

I'd rather go with a period before it is accepted that a character is actually not doing their daily routine, and another length before they are written out in some fashion.

Wounds + Vitality felt a lot better to my group when we played, even with the additional questions of how much of each thing spells heal and so on.

Oi, I forgot to mention that usually really changing things takes time and effort and isn't easy, and I would want such a system to reflect that. And make sure you don't have players able to bring in trillionaires and have that fix the problem.
