How do you present it when many people, for many reasons disagree with how someone treats others, and not have it look like a hate mob?

RE: What RPG SYSTEM do you want to play on a Mu*?
I want something with more than yes/no results.
I personally enjoy games that carry the flavor of the setting or play style in how things are named, and what is detailed.

RE: MSB: The meta-discussion
I've lost a friendship merely trying to explain to a MU* player that places like MSB can be good because they can discuss something they did that made big waves, and come out with something less than a nuclear option on evaluating the players involved.
I was told that everyone here is a toxic snake that couldn't possibly ever do any good. And yes they are still friends with other regular posters here.

RE: MSB: The meta-discussion
Entertaining maybe, but the realization that what you are reading is purposeful fiction reduced utility extremely.

RE: RL Anger
That is typical of the behavior video game players heap on CS.

RE: Fear and Loathing
@Botulism said in Fear and Loathing:
... one person says it's overpowered, why play a regular character, then the restrictions get pointed out, and someone else says with all the restrictions why bother?
I love this. Its something everyone should keep in mind while agitating, campaigning nay crusading for their one true way.

RE: MSB: The meta-discussion
Dealing with opposing viewpoints, even poorly or aggressively expressed ones is part of being an adult, and part of contributing to things.
You don't have to engage, but people should be aware of whats going on around them. Apathy and ignorance (as in unaware of) look pretty much the same. Sadly legitimate complaints and not often look the same as well.
I will note that trying to be polite or acknowledging of alternate values or goals gets exactly fuck all in terms of reciprocation here. It's a great way to realize who isn't worth listening to.

RE: Fear and Loathing
I believe you have caught my meaning then.
Played as a character, no matter the limits, is still a played character. I changed it from player, as that may be construed as meaning player-created, player-owned, or player consent. None of those are always true.

RE: MSB: The meta-discussion
Places like this offer a consistent identity, with coversations open to public viewing.
Sure it could so with some way for folks to say a post sounds biased, angry, over stated, overly sweeping etc.
It could use a wiki where discussed examples of a a given behavior, a given play or player group, types of game play, tips for game setup creation and running, etc are all summarized.
However, no matter what, this place does it in the open, and no game staffer or player can come here and silence you. That is CRITICAL.
Sure maybe someone lies, or presents only what they know, or presents only what makes them look best, but it's out there. Now people who may know better can call them on it, or just re-evaluate their impression of the person.

Constrained Played Character.
Constrained by: Roster created/template, directives, thematic elements they are meant to support and enact.

@arkandel Not you! I don't want to hear from you until GR70+

RE: Fear and Loathing
This way maintains the illusion that your effort and time spent in RP matters to your power level.
Players don't like being behind, and they don't like having their work turned valueless. So we construct illusions.

RE: PC antagonism done right
Maybe do a setup where there has to be no less than 8 and no more than 12 characters to drive a mini-faction (I dunno, are they the support for a Slayer, are they the officers of a brigade, are they the lackies of musketeers, the aids of politicians) where all the end result in in terms of the mini-faction scale, but each person has their mini-faction to RP with, and of course dealing with other mini-factions, and whatever story elements etc.

RE: Do people like skill challenges?
Well that's just it, how do you make it so it doesn't boil down to the same thing? Otherwise just roll your die and move along.

RE: PC antagonism done right
Social systems, if they are to be normative, need a norm. Staff needs to provide a market for the typical behaviors.

RE: Poll: RPG System for OC Hero Game
In case anyone missed it, someone took the FASERIP system and modernized it a little. The new product is called G-Core and can be found on places like RPGNOW.com.
