    • RE: RL Anger

I actually support people having a space to smoke in. However, smokers seem oblivious to the fact they take up both space and time that far exceeds their smoking presence. The reach is far enough that it gets sorta stupid . "Hey could you go smoke 50 yards away in that field?"

Its part of why I support vaping, it doesn't have nearly the same range.

Anyway I just wanted to get in on the fun. Thanks!

And if you fucking sit down 10 yards upwind from me, and don't realize that you still stink from that distance, you're the nuisance. Nice of you to address the added topic of RANGE, instead of sticking to who got where first.

@Tinuviel As long as your smoke doesn't travel outside where you sit, its all good.

      You ever look downwind?

    • RE: What does advancement in a MU* mean to you?

Atop much of what is mentioned here, I like it when your relationships with other PCs, and NPCs, change and grow.
I also like it when my character changes and grows, though many object to that being something that has any sort of system attached to it.

The Character exists in that universe, not this one. Anything that allows you extraordinary capacity is a merit, or other game system.

I personally love the idea of research, investigation, experimentation to advance science or technology for certain eras. Sure, throw it into mash-up gizmo making for Steampunk or eccentric Rube Goldberg inventors everywhen, make it critical for keeping an edge in drug enhancements and computer security in cyberpunk, make is absolutely necessary and arduous for advancing the industrial era from Age of Exploration to Westerns aka Victoriana to pre-information technology. Make it slightly less a pain to deal with new/alien biology and exotic materials.

It will still take luck and years.

      I let the player succeed.

I let the rest of the game continue in the space where the character didn't succeed.

The player is welcome to create their own MU* where they did succeed.

At a certain very large level, staff created and supports a certain framework. They did not say they would support any framework that came along.

Alternately, we end the game suddenly, and ask the player how amazing the RP is now.

RPing in English probably means you're doing it wrong. We need a form of Katakana.

I really want to post from work that maybe safe for work isn't a major concern when you shouldn't be playing from work.

However, I have ocean related stuff to wrangle and show to the OP, so I won't.

So you're saying the reply was framed to suit their end goals. Even if the end goals weren't necessarily the same as yours.

The Court of the Air, from the Jackelian series, had a crustacean people called the Craynarbian. I suspect it is the term used by humans, in the one or more of the human languages.

      JFC.

Are the exotic races going to be known by how they call themselves, or by how another culture/language refers to them? (See red skin for First Nations as an initially accepted misname that worked anyway).

Do they all belong (in their own minds and or in land dwellers minds) to some category, other than Sea Folk? Like all blessed or ruled by a certain goddess, a common origin event, or just common abilities like the ability to walk land and sea?

    • Lazarus addon stores message text

I'm trying out the Chrome extension Lazarus that stores netforms. I am hoping it will save the messages I write to people that are so long the system won't send them.

How about a different thread with the wider focus of why all games are doomed to fail or whatever?

There is no excuse for this level of failure. Anyone person can make a new thread AND mention @coin or @surreality in it and chatter on.

      JFC people.

    • RE: MSB: The meta-discussion

For wiki, you can also separate what someone says about themselves, and a complaint article written by another. That allows freedom of discussion, without requiring that one sort through the kitchen sink. If you want just what the person says, read their entry. If you want to know any warnings someone has to offer, read another entry.

I'd almost like a comments thing like the WoD books where each person offers their own notes on a given topic.

Actually, I was thinking something neat for the underwater world would be a non-human type, by which I mean one with an alien way of thinking, or fairly alien, and perhaps not open to being played.
