Working on Valentine's Day... then going into work to find out the idiot that can't manage the schedule correctly has decided we shall hold a sale! 50% off ALL clearance in the store. Including live flowers. On Valentine's Day. FUCK THIS BITCH. We went from pleasantly quiet and calm to HOLY FUCK WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED in the space of my lunch break.

Related Peeve: People who insist on blaring their music at the top possible volume for their sound system and/or idiot bikers that feel the need to rev their bikes incessantly while at a red light. IF I WANTED TO HEAR YOUR SHIT, I WOULD PLAY IT ON A CD YOU SELFISH FUCKWAD.
*Empirical 'you'.
@Monogram I know your pain. A large white van with no back windows almost flipped itself AND practically started a three-lane, multicar accident because of assholishness. Namely, being a huge fucking van that attempted to cut across three lanes of traffic, including attempting to force its way into a gap FAR too small to accommodate its size on a busy highway.

RE: Generic sci fi game.
@SG I have but one burning question. WILL THERE BE FACEHUGGERS???

Now I've ended up deleting people from Skype and Facebook on pure accident. If you've got a weird name that you change from time to time and you change your picture, I start to forget who the fuck you are.
And this is why I've had the same Skype name/picture for YEARS. People like to be cute and/or witty with their Skype stuff but completely forget that maybe not everyone they talk to will recognize its them through their witticisms. I may change the picture every great once in awhile... but the name never changes.

RE: Generic sci fi game.
@SG Please please please have staffnames be the various stages of sci-fi monsters. Facehugger, Chestburster, Xenomorph, etc.

RE: RL peeves! >< @$!#
@HelloRaptor I do that now. I did not do that years ago when I started MU*ing... so I still have contacts on my list that I know I know them from somewhere, just not sure where or who. Though I don't always label people by MUSH names, generally just what I know them as. You, for instance, are not HelloRaptor on my Skype.

RE: nWoD 2.0 inter-sphere balance and mechanics
I didn't bring it up is why. People just decided to latch onto my dislike for the new Conditions. And I can still decide that I don't like something because I think its complicated and vague. If I look at it and decide that it seems more complicated than I'm willing to put the effort into delving into, it doesn't make my opinion any less valid than your own.

RE: Where's your RP at?
@Gilette See, I have gone through so many characters on so many games... and often end up dropping them from... boredom. Nothing happens. Nobody is willing to risk anything. Its boring. So I'll drop a character and find something else to hold my interest for a short while. Probably one of my favorite characters was Ramona on TR. She would do or say anything... didn't matter. She paid for it a few times, too. But she also ended up Keeper of the only Elysium in town for awhile. It was fun. Running around all one-armed like Paul Reubens in Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Just as much fun as beating someone down. And if she had died (and she would have, eventually), it would have been a HILARIOUS and AWESOME moment that I would remember fondly for ages. Not even because I chose what happened to her, but because I threw her out there and let fate decide.

RE: Where's your RP at?
@surreality Eh. Consequence of using a dice-based system. I'm not going to complain if a roll fucks up my character. Its just part of the game. I've had characters that lasted months or years, I've had characters that didn't last past the first encounter. When you play the game, you make a tacit agreement to accept the consequences of the dice. Yes, it sucks... but you are now free to craft up a whole new character with a whole new story and find all new fun things to do. That is where I don't understand. Why get SO wrapped up in ONE character, that you can't stand to see them go?
Edit to add: @faraday I refer you to the above. You are putting no more time and effort into the character that got blown out of the airlock than the one that got to ride off into the sunset. Sometimes your favorite character dies. This is a fact. When your favorite character in a book series dies, do you stop reading the series? Or do you keep reading and find a new favorite character?

@somasatori I get more people that don't brush their teeth than that, but yeah. Just gross all around.

RE: Storytelling
Doesn't the book itself suggest offering a Beat just for participation in an evening's activities, though? Granted, a 24/7 MU* doesn't have to grant a Beat for every day... but not every TT session is going to be some big danger or cunning riddle or whatever, either. Sometimes its just gathering information or schmoozing up an NPC or something else fairly rote/mundane.

Dear Project Manager: FUCK YOU. Fuck your completely illogical and unachievable expectations for my job.

RE: Where's your RP at?
@Ganymede Ah, my apologies then. Taken as serious inquiry... I would say the line depends a lot on the game system. Some offer more leeway than others.
@Sunny I'm saying the two are NOT mutually exclusive. Not wanting pointless character death is fine. Its when you (empirical) refuse to accept the pointless death that occurs that you (again, empirical) become the asshole.

@Alamias Maaaaaan, I was never so happy as I was when one of my vamps managed to piss Kaleb off. I can't recall if it was Sera or Ramona. But like... that was an ACCOMPLISHMENT, dammit. XD
Sera. I remember that....it was fun times. And for the life of me I could not roll for shit when I was trying to Mesmerize her either, so Kaleb was all flustered....
TBF, Sera was built to be a wall of resistance. Her resistance traits were all damn near maxed out, she had all the best merits and Carthian devotions for resisting mind/emotinal control, damage, etc. She was made to be a tank.
Didn't Kaleb end up punching some other dude over it?

RE: RL Anger
@Cobaltasaurus Twice now at the service desk I have had a woman come into the store with a cart FULL of items that she 'bought for her daughter' that her daughter didn't like. She keeps saying this girl is going on a trip, but I would like to know what trip she's going on that requires multiple shopping trips made MONTHS apart. In either case, she knows that service desk closes at 10pm. Yet she routinely shows up at 9:58pm with a cart full of items to return. If you attempt to tell her no, she'll start off pleading ('Oh I didn't know, please help me out, I need this for my daughter's trip'), then move on to indignant ('The customer is supposed to come first, why aren't you helping me!'), to downright pissy ('I want to speak to your manager, this is ridiculous, you have to take my items back!'). The last time she pulled this on me, it was five minutes AFTER 10pm. There were two other girls, both of whom had a single key they were trying to return cause they accidentally brought in the wrong key to be duplicated. Because I felt bad for them, I did her damn return (almost $200 worth of clothes and shoes). By the time I finished with all of them, it was 10:30, I still had to shut down the registers AND take my claims to the back before my shift ended at 11. So I start shutting down registers and pulling garbage and stuff, getting everything ready. This woman comes BACK to the desk and insists that she needs an itemized copy of the receipt for her return because she doesn't think she 'got enough back'. I explain to her that I -cannot- reprint her receipt as a) I have taken other customers after her and b) I don't have the access to do so and c) the register that I took her on has been shut down for the night. I go through this with her for TEN MINUTES before finally losing my patience and telling her that I'm not going to print her receipt, that she got the full amount for every item she returned, and that if she wants to pull something like this then she needs to show up BEFORE the service desk is scheduled to close. So of course, she runs off to tell the closing CSM what a terrible bitch I am. Meanwhile, I continue collecting up my claims. When the CSM shows up and starts trying to harass me about it, I tell them the exact story, and then mention that if I'm held up any longer, I'm going to go over my hours for the week since her return cost me thirty minutes of time, and oh, I STILL haven't had the fifteen minute break I'm entitled to. The CSM just mutters something about not talking to customers that way and wanders off to let me finish my shit.

In addition most systems do have a get out of jail free way to get around PC death, even if it costs something in return.
I think people who fixate on death as the only measure of True Morality on a consent game are kind of weird. Even on games that are anything goes, usually people don't think like that.
If you're playing a monster that's in a war against other monsters, suddenly beating someone up or stealing their car doesn't seem like a big deal.
Mike burned down a building, huh... anyone in it?
'Nah, it was empty.'
Oh... that pussy. He needs to sack up or the (insert bad guys here) are gonna skin him alive and wear him as a coat.It is rarely the fault of the game if the staff and/or players refuse to adhere to or enforce the theme/rules of the game.
