There was an update. You can now click on your Pokemon, and under the same place where you could transfer the Pokemon for candies, there's an Appraise option. I got to have Spark tell me that my 'Breakfast' was amazing, and that it was the 'tiniest Breakfast' he'd ever seen. ^_^ I am now renaming my Pokemon for lulzy Appraisals.

No worries, just figured I'd point it out now before it becomes a bone of contention!

RE: RL Anger
@Arkandel Since the 13 year old doesn't have a phone right now, he has no account with which to play Pokemon. Hence the threat to give it to him.
@Auspice Look at my post, hun. Second sentence. Both boys are teenagers, and thus do not require parental controlled accounts.

RE: RL Anger
I have two boys. Both teenagers now. My oldest plays Pokemon GO, and as soon as we pick out a phone for my youngest, he will too. I have ZERO qualms about grabbing either by the shoulder and/or back of the neck and/or arm and yanking them backwards because they're about to do something stupid in the name of pixelated creatures. Yes, we go on Pokewalks. Yes, sometimes that takes us to places where families/younger children can be found. No, that does not given them license to be idiots/douches to the little kids so they can catch a Krabby. The oldest in particular will get so focused on his phone that he'll forget to look at where he's going. So we now have a deal. He either watches where he's going or I will give his phone to his younger brother until he can show that he can be responsible with the app. That means his younger brother would immediately inherit all the Pokemon and items that he's worked hard to collect. So... he watches where the Hell he's going.

RE: What Do You Collect?
@Thenomain Yeah, but look at those stockings. Those are 50's stockings. They might as well be sock stockings, as thick as they are. 1950-1970... if you wore stockings, it didn't matter what your skintone was, your legs are TAN.

I dunno, that looks like velour. That shit was pretty warm.

RE: RL things I love
@mietze I would bet the female squick of figuring out their own bodies is lingering societal expectations that women should be ashamed of their bodies and seek to hide from their own functions and processes, and that the girls who want to learn and will experiment are just 'dirty sluts' that no 'good girl' would want to be associated with. The simple fact that women still can't make decisions about their own bodies without state or federal government having a say is rather telling. Men can get Viagra with insurance. Most companies won't cover birth control for women. Sanitary products are still not tax-free. I mean the list really goes on.

RE: RL things I love
How 'cool' guys are or aren't revolving around a woman's bodily functions doesn't necessarily apply to how they approach sex. I can safely say that there are a large number of men out there that still think that the stuff you find on porn is what sex is really supposed to be like. Including the stupid way girls presumably touch their clits to stimulate themselves. Others that are straight up just clueless because they were afraid to ask. So, I mean, it could be a highly useful tool for guys as well as girls.

RE: RL Anger
@SG Yes, that exactly. Like, my car is clearly out front, you can see me through the window. YOU KNOW I AM HERE. I get that you (lawn dude) get paid by the hour and thus want to stretch out your contracted jobs as long as possible to collect a bigger paycheck. I respect that. But goddammit, do it in front of the empty house, or maybe in that big middle grassy area that's constantly covered in pine needles and grass clippings and leaves! Stop leafblowing my front door for ten minutes at a stretch!
-
RE: RL Anger
@Insomnia Addendum: Lawn guys that think that just because its 2pm on a Wednesday, its okay to run FIVE LEAFBLOWERS simultaneously around my townhouse. Motherfuckers, I am ON THE PHONE. These assholes will like bang the door with the friggin' leafblower!

RE: What Do You Collect?
Funko Pop! is the new Beanie Babies. Only its using popular franchises so more likely to stick around longer.
I collect pins & buttons. I love my pins and buttons, got some that are nearly as old as I am!

RE: Pokemon Go
Seriously, just tell them 'no'. As a former cashier, I can tell you... we don't care. We're not going to try to sell you on the concept of giving us your email. Chances are good they're being forced to ask you for it in the first place and would rather not ask at all. So just say 'no', and live guilt-free and worry-free that the cashier is in any way upset or perturbed by it.

RE: Fallen World MUX!
@Coin @skew See, that's where they lose me. If the cost is just 1xp per rote post-cgen, I don't get why they felt the need to stunt that in cgen itself. I mean, the biggest issue I see there is that, yeah, once you join an Order and get access to those Rotes, there's no reason it should be restricted by anything other than what Arcana you have at which levels. It just seems arbitrary and a callback to the prior edition.
