I'm crushed by this. Big Empty is still one of my favorite songs.

RE: Fallout 4
I'm still trying to figure ways to make every settlement look...for lack of a better word, awesome. But the problem I come into is I either A, run out of steel(because once you open up Spectacle island, you will never run out of wood again, EVER), or B, and this is more common, fill out the size bar.
I hate that thing.

Fallout 4
Been playing it for awhile, figured I'd ask around for anyone who had been playing and what their thoughts had been.
There has been one thing that I feel has stuck out to me, and that's that I get the sensation that FO4 or NV had more sidequests. And by that, I mean more than just something that'll take a couple minutes to complete, more along the lines of The Replicated Man quest from FO3 or There Stands the Grass and Come Fly With Me from NV in terms of overall quest length.
Hold on, I just counted 81 side quests(which does include companion quests I should point out)in NV(not including DLC). There was 17 in FO3(not including DLCs and I don't believe FO3 companion quests, though I could be mistaken on that). FO4 has 39(including companion quests)
This isn't to say that the sidequests in FO4 are bad, just haven't come across any that immediately memerable, but that's more likely as I'm still playing it and it's still pretty new.
But it does tell me that NV had a crapton more stuff to do in it than I remember. Also that Lonesome Road is to me the best DLC that was put out for a Fallout game.
I suppose I'm not taking account faction sidequests from FO4, because of the main three factions had them, but I suspect most of them are the repeatable kind that can be done over and over. Still, I suppose after counting there's more than what I feel there is.
Also, I wish there was a third person view for when you go into building mode. And more unarmed weapons.

RE: Where the hell is everyone?
Work and Fallout 4. That's about what my life revolves around at this point.

RE: Reports of my demise have been blah blah blah.
If I were to take anything away from the intial post.

RE: Kinds of Mu*s Wanted
CoC, preferably CoC in space because that shit would be so tite.
I played on a Fallout MU years ago, and it was pretty great, wish it hadn't closed.
It's been discussed elsewhere, but a Witcher MU I'd like to see.
However, in the end, more original theme, sci fi that's not Firefly/SW/ST would also be a breath of fresh air.

RE: Uploading images via Chrome
Hrm, still not uploading, just the Forbidden thing.
Could it be more of a skin dependent problem? Or would skins have nothing to do with it. Or maybe I should just try with Firefox. Odd.
-
RE: Uploading images via Chrome
@Glitch I just tried it in Chrome, still getting that Forbidden message.
Maybe I'll just have to start using Firefox exclusively for MUSB.
-
Uploading images via Chrome
I was told to toss this out to @Glitch, but I have noticed an issue while trying to upload images into a thread. I get a red message box in the top right corner that reads: Error: Forbidden.
I've been told this isn't an issue with people who use Firefox, so it might be a Chrome-specific issue, not really sure.
Just thought to point that out.

RE: This One Time At Sports-Camp
I doubt the Spurs will completely collapse. Pop does draft stupidly well, and even when he doesn't, he seems to have this knack from turning a nobody into somebody relevant. People say it's boring to watch the Spurs because they're not flashy, because they're all about fundamentals, but shit, when you have so many rings in so many years, they're doing something right.
Duncan, Ginobli, and....the other guy who's name I forget are getting older. Ancient in NBA terms and think they'll have a couple seasons of irrelevency, but their turnaround will a lot faster than others. Most, probably.
I'm more doubtful of the Clippers. There's a lot of lockerroom drama going on, and Steve Palmer isn't much better of an owner than Sterling was, only instead of apathetic racism it's just ignorance.
The Rockets are never going to be enough unless they have more than Harden and Howard, but on a personal note, I want to see Howard lose everywhere he goes because he's such a queen and crybaby.
The Lakers will never be anything until the day comes thatt they can pry Kobe's cold dead hands off the franchise.
I think, in the foreseeable future will be made up of the Warriors, Grizzlies, and Pelicans. Possibly the Blazers and Nuggets as well.
@Arkandel But they're best friends! They play together all the time in the off-season! It totally makes sense! Sarcasm aside, I could see Durant getting so desperate to win, he would join up with Lebron. Well, okay, I see it more happening with Westbrook than Durant. Or 'Mello. Definately 'Mello.
-
RE: This One Time At Sports-Camp
The Thunder? Maybe if they had kept James Harden and Durant's foot didn't explode every season. But as it stands, their big pieces are likely to gtfo out of OKC in the next season or so.

RE: This One Time At Sports-Camp
@Ganymede
I'm completely with you that the Cavs are severely lacking in depth. I do think the Warriors are a bit more overrated than everyone says they are. I feel like if the Clippers hadn't just up and imploded in the post seasons, they posed the greatest challenge to the Warriors.Bogut is worthless. He didn't do shit on the Bucks and I personally think he's propped up by everyone else. I don't know much about Green and Barnes, but I will admit that I like Iguodala and McAdoo. As for Curry, there's just something about his play that seems off. I know that's vague, but, that's all I can say. Not saying he's not good, he's very good.
The problem is, I haven't seen anyone worthwhile challenge the Warriors, so to me, I have no idea how good they really are. Certainly no one in the East is going to prove that because there's no one in the East that's relevant beyond the Cavs. Atlanta? Maybe? San Antonio and LA Clippers are about the only teams I can think of. But goddamn are the Spurs old and the Clippers is just just dysfunctional as hell because their new owner is a gigantic boob.
Miami had the same amount of depth when they won their two championships as the Cavs do now, so I think it's still possible for the Cavs. That's a weak argument, I know, and I have no idea why I'm defending Lebron of all people. Maybe it's just because I want to see a small-market NBA team that isn't San Antonio win a championship.
-
RE: This One Time At Sports-Camp
If Love and Irving had both been healthy for those finals, I do believe that series would've been a lot more interesting. And I think the Cavs would've had a lot better odds at winning. As it was, the only reason the Cavs got the wins they did in the finals was because Lebron drug them to it. But he's not Superman. Impressive display regardless.
And goddamnit, my Bucks will be relevant this years.

RE: Dragon Age: Inquisition
So. Bioware. Take a good long look at Witcher 3. That's the kind of quality you want in DA4. The storytelling, the script, the set-building. This is stuff you need to look long and hard at. Because while I love DA: I, Witcher 3 was a couple steps above in the quality of the game(also, all the free DLC was a nice boon).
That being said, here's some things I'll point out that I think the next game needs. Spoilers from Trespasser, so don't read on if you want shit spoiled for you.
-
Either make a new character or continue with the Inquisitor and make his left arm being his special 'thing', whatever that 'thing' may be, granted I think your main character losing their arm at the very end was an interesting turn of events. Even if it's as something as cheesy as Ashe's mechanical arm from Army of Darkness.
-
If not a new character or the Inquisitor, bring back the Warden. I want to know what has become of the Warden. What he's doing, what his goals are since he obviously has an agenda of his/her own.
-
I loved DA:I's combat. And while I thought that DA:O's combat was too boring for my taste(I'm just not that into tactical combat #sorrynotsorry), the options for tactics in DA:I was lacking. For all of the complaint that DA2 was too button-mashy, it did give a lot of options for tactics, which I liked. I liked being able to program my companions tactics while still being able to beat away at an enemy. Which is why I think if DA:I had the combat it already had, while having the tactical options of DA:O or DA2, it would've been worlds better. But again, not options for those of us that just want to kill things.
-
Make Solas the villain. I know that this seems like a forgone conclusion considering Trespasser, but this needs to be a thing. Former companion turned bad guy(even if it's more anti-hero than anything else)? I've been waiting for that in a Bioware game in years.
-
Get your shit with the Dwarves sorted out. Considering Descent, there's a lot of 'wtf' going on and things were possibly not as well thought out at first. The intention is interesting, but this is slowly turning into a 'too many cooks in the kitchen' sort of situation. It's going to have to tie up sooner or later, or you're going to suffer the Christ Carter Effect(go watch the last two seasons of X-Files and you'll understand what I mean).
-
Bring back Sandal. I still maintain that he's the Maker in a human guise.
-
Bring it all together. Since I'm fresh off Trespasser, right now, I don't know if there should be a DA5. I feel like DA4 should wrap up this entire storyline, and it really does feel like it's building towards...well, /something/. I feel like every single plot thread that's been left lingering in the last three games should be all tied up and everyone(and I do mean /everyone/, covering companions and major players from the last three games)get their proper ending(based on whatever decisions you've made).
-
Please don't start catering to fan service shipping. You've avoided this so far in DA, while ME was sorta cringy in it. I'm glad DA:I was not the relationship simulator that ME sorta was(and I say even though I like ME over DA).
-
Keep the gold glitch in. Seriously, this has started to become a staple of DA games. There's always been something that's kinda been regarded as a gold dupe or gold glitch. I think it's a trend that Bioware should keep going. Almost like it's an inside joke at this point.
-
Get rid of resource mining. I have wasted far too much time scouring for resources(especially after the resource dupe was fixed). It's not fun, it's grinding, it's time-consuming, and it's just a way to extend the game's length more than what it needs to be. Now, I do like crafting, but just let us buy straight out or simply gain the resource itself allowing us to make whatever once we've earned, either via level progress, story progress, quest reward, or gold purchase. But don't make us look around for those three pieces of silverite I need to make a damn sword. Or, if you want, just go back to DA:O's material quality. THe more you level up, you find better quality items. That worked well, for me anyways.
-
Let us be a dick. No, really, in past DA games you could be just the biggest jerk in the world. You could drive companions away, hell, you could even kill them if you felt you needed to. None of that in DA:I. If that means some kind of Paragon/Renegade scale, whatever. Or Friend/Rival.
-
Not so many filler quests. Seriously, how many quests were there in the Hinterlands, alone? A lot, far too many to count, and eventually, I just stopped caring, because they really didn't mean shit. Or if you're going to do, and I'm going to point to Witcher 3 here again, give it's own story. Make it relevant. Many, or a lot of the quests there, a lot of them felt like they were important. Hell, many of them could make you /care/ about actually doing it, instead of just looking at it like just another box to check off.
-
Let us kill Anders if you let him live in DA2. I may be the sadistic type, but I'd want Anders to see exactly what he did, the results of his actions before I killed him(that's sorta why I let him live). Or magically tear Justice from him and /then/ kill him. Either/or, I'm not picky.
-
Skyhold. Keep it., but maybe give a bit more in customization options.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head, I'm sure there's more if I sat down and thought about it.

RE: Dragon Age: Inquisition
@Tempest Iron Bull and Dorian is probably the biggest redeeming factors in terms of party companions. Personally, I tend to more or less ignore Solas and Vivenne when I have Dorian around.
Blackwall is alright. Not bad, nor good, just lukewarm. He does get a little more interesting in the late part of the game. Cassandra I think has the most growth of all the characters, and I do agree that Varric is not the presence that he was in DA2, which is a shame. And it would've been nice if there was another dwarf character beyond just Varric(personally I was hoping they'd bring back Sigurn from Awakenings, I really liked her).
I could go on a rant about how much I hate Sera, nevermind that you never get the chance to have her go through SOME kind of character growth. She has absolutely zero depth or growth, which only makes it all the more infuriating. Almost all the companions have some kind of crisis moment. She doesn't, and in my mind, that kinda makes her a pointless character.

RE: Dragon Age: Inquisition
I've been playing it for the first time since January and I can say it's been improved alot since I last tried it. The first time I tried it, I couldn't stand it. Now it's gotten a bit more like ME3 MP. I like how when you promote a level 20 character you get stat increases that carries over to all classes, improving every time you promote. I will say that's a welcome reward for actually promoting.

I wasn't aware how someone's numbers on a sheet was that super important. I mean, unless you want to munchkin it up.
