@Apos I would like to see a murder mystery whodunit MU but filling the time between murder mysteries is the issue. I think the solution is to run a mystery, and, once it is solved, delete the rooms and characters and start fresh with a new grid and characters.

RE: New MUSH 'Game' Mechanics
I think the solution to the issue of people gaming the system in private is that the system can only be used in public scenes. Preferably all scenes would be logged so there is transparency in how points were earned.

RE: The Board Game Thread
We could easily be playing it wrong too. Then again, Jack the Ripper rarely wins in our Letters from Whitechapel games, so maybe our group is really good at deduction and chasing down people.

RE: The Board Game Thread
I prefer Letters from Whitechapel to Fury of Dracula. It's too easy to track down Dracula's whereabouts in Fury and the few times my group has played, he hasn't been that scary in a fight either.

RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?
I had an idea for a MU centered on a nomadic, tribal society that was moving through and exploring the land as it tried to survived. I would think that such seasonal movements would allow for a more episodic metaplot.

I would only allow shouts in two circumstances - it has a high cost in charge to balance it out, or you allow access to other unique powers from the setting to balance it out. If you go with the latter, it doesn't quite make sense to continue things to just Skyrim. You would want to open up the whole continent and perhaps have the only cities on the grid be the provincial capitals.

I would pick a few of the most important towns - Whitehold, Markarth, Riften, Winterhold, and Solitude. They represent the major areas of the province. Then throw in some of the more interesting areas as well - High Hrothgar, Eastmarch's sulfur flats and geysers, etc.

Which city, though? All of them?

I could do Elder Scrolls. The issue with Elder Scrolls is the issue of doing, say, Legend of Zelda. It's a franchise built on expansive settings, which MUs have a bit of trouble with, since you want to concentrate players in small areas so RP happens, rather than let them spread out. You would have to decide where to focus the grid. The Imperial City? Morrowind? Skyrim? One of the Daedric Princes' realms in Oblivion? Shivering Isles might be fun.

Time Walk costs 1U not U.

I would play a server set on Ravnica, Theros, pre-Eldrazi Zendikar, Innistrad, or Kaladesh.

RE: Eliminating social stats
Are we ready to conclude that social stats should determine access to resources and allow players to exchange these resources? It combines social stats actually having an effect, so social interaction isn't entirely dependent on player writing skill; having writing skill matter, so it's not just a random roll; and still allowing the player of the defending character to opt out of someone they simply don't want to agree to for whatever reason.

RE: New Superhero Game Looking for Staff/Feedback
I kind of want to make an OC villain, The Red Scare - a Soviet Mr. Incredible who is angry at Russia's betrayal of communism and has come to smack the US around in his red spandex.
