Symbols are clung to by all walks of life. I don't buy into the need for the Confederate flag, nor do I really give a shit about the Christian Cross, the Jewish Star of David, the swastika, that stupid fish symbol on the back of cars or any other zealous symbol of hatred and holier-than-thouism. You're right. They should all be allowed to fly their colors so we can mark them and avoid them if we so choose.

They can all go die in a fire.

Try connecting to a system you've never worked in before and learning how to do this. If you are a MUSHer with zero MUD experience, connect to, say, a Diku and try to find out how to talk, pose, etc. This learning experience works better if you pick something as far from TinyMUD-derived as you can.

Well, no, not sarcastic. I was just musing, but it was an idea.

People have mentioned removing the ability to stalk, and this would be one way to do it? Clearly (to me), people use Unfindable for various reasons, just as some people clearly use OOC location data to abuse it.

I absolutely agree that people should be resolving their shit, yes. I can't fix that, though. I can offer a way to cut down the problem? Like I said, it was just an offered idea.

True, and usually they get eventual help with their lack of knowledge by people sharing wiki links, pdfs, whatever.

      @Jeshin
Staff and Helpers usually get immediately involved if someone mentions their lack of experience. So it isn't a CharGen issue, it is a customer relations issue helping a new player. Most of the games represented here are not simple systems. World of Darkness is a very complex system, that is even MORE complex the more that is included/allowed as races on the game. It is one of those systems that you cannot begin to play without some sort of reference material, be it a book, a wiki or so.

So, maybe something to think about is removing locations from any OOC commands. +finger, +where, etc. +hangouts and equivalent simply show numbers. Force people to communicate to find or arrange RP. Force people to use the hangouts to wait for happenstance scenes. Force people to be adults.

@icanbeyourmuse, I think you mistyped... "automatically making them unfindable, and all public rooms unfindable."

I think you mean "automatically making them unfindable, and all public rooms !unfindable."

I never understood why a simple +IGNORE-like command made you unfindable to people whom you don't want stalking you. Maybe another level could hide you from simple WHO, +WHO, +WHERE, +HANGOUTS when they run them.

      Hmm. Something to ponder through.

The #1 issue people have when switching from disposables to safety razor is pressure. They are used to pushing the razor(s) into their skin to get it to work. With a safety razor, you have to learn to just let the weight of the razor handle assembly itself to do the work. You do not push it into your skin, or you will literally push it into your skin.

I have shaved the tip of my nostrils and the earlobe with this razor. You just do it with a ginger touch.

This style of razor has been in use for over two hundred years, and I don't think people just now developed 'sharp curves'.

@ThatOneDude Eh.... not sure what they offer, but my experience from military to today suggests that shaving cream and blades are one area that you should not suffer poor quality to save a few bucks.

Saving two bucks here and there, and having your (for Dudes) neckline look like you shaved with a yard trimmer is not a good compromise, especially professionally.

Buy quality, or you will end up replacing it later anyway.

EDIT: After seeing your URL, I still don't recommend disposables. They are too fat (IMNSHO) to do a good job. One blade is all you need, not 5, not 10.

Dude or Dudette, I highly recommend that you switch to a safety razor instead of any disposable.

The blades can be bought in 100-pks, which will last you almost a year at two blades a week. I have a rough, tough beard so that is about my rate. A 'case' of 10 10-blade packs will run you about, oh, $20. That is, what, two disposable razors or about two packs of 5 blade replacements?

On top of this, the shave is so much more clean and comfortable. I get almost zero razor burn with a safety razor.

Your one-time startup costs will be:

      • Razor: $50-90
      • blades: $20
      • shaving cream: $20
      • brush: $20

I know it is a large chunk to bite off to start up, but only the shaving cream and blades will need replenished over time. If you get a good razor, it will be something you can pass on to your offspring.

A great place to shop is Amazon. You will get their suggested 3-item bundle pack suggestions, and you can get the razor, a pack of blades and the brush for about $50. Since you likely already have a shaving foam or gel, you can start with that, until you can get a good cream-based lathering item. I cannot recommend Art of Shaving products highly enough. Their shave creams are very good.

People in airports acting like they are amazing world travelers, for one. But, when something is announced that is essentially a delay, they inform their friends out loud that they shouldn't traveled with him, for he "attracts this sort of thing". "All the time." "Like, last year when I traveled...."

      STFU.

First, you are no fucking special snowflake, asstard. Many more of us travel for a living, and you sir, and your one airplane ride a year, do not qualify as a fucking traveler. So stop acting all cool to your friends, you clown.
