Shoutout to @Apos for working hard as always and finding a gown I made that the system lost. Thank you!

RE: The Work Thread
Had some white trash come into today from their dad's funeral and dupe me into giving a high school beer some malt liquor. Long story short, I feel stupid. I asked for proof of ID, girl showed me her sister's ID - they look enough alike I was like 'yeah okay cool' but my gut didn't feel right. I noticed them being really sneaky about the drinks though and that's when it set in.
My boss was already screaming at me like her name is Gordon Fucking Ramsey over dumb nothings. I had a major meltie in the office - and guess what, they just installed a camera right in my favorite crying place.
They'll enjoy watching my highlights reel later I'm sure.

RE: Dead By Daylight
@ZombieGenesis I didn't think I liked playing survivor at first, but I do. I have Kate to almost level 20 already. I think the best tip you gave me was 'never assume a killer can see you'. I have Spine Chill with Kate and I tend sometimes to hide when the killer can't see me, then run out when I think he's gone and boom.
I have Leatherface to almost level 20 as well, and The Pig. I like some of Otz's commentary but I've been watching a lot of Yerv and OhTofu too!
I'm going to keep in mind Inner Strength and Small Game. I did some games as Feng last night but they were all basically shitshows where the killer was way too good for any of us.

Dead By Daylight
Hi, people are talking a lot about what their favorite 2020 distraction games are right now and oh boy, does my first week of college have a story to tell you.
DEAD BY DAYLIGHT.
Now that we have crossplay I can play on my Nintendo Switch. It's not ideal, but it works and I'm really enjoying it.
Please post tips for a noobette like me, favorite builds, times you have booped the snoot, etc.
And also if you've ever about shit yourself when Myers was chasing you.

RE: Visit Fallcoast, sponsored by the Fallcoast Chamber of Commerce
@GreenFlashlight I sadly cannot provide an example to this because it will start some shit.
Regardless, I've been informed a few posts up that this type of stuff is absolutely normal on WoD.
I think the types I'm kinda referring to are the 'I'm so pretty. My powers revolve around how pretty and charismatic I am. I have fifteen boyfriends and girlfriends. My template is very obnoxious. Also I'm very random! Insert GIF here!' I hope that gives you a better example.

RE: Visit Fallcoast, sponsored by the Fallcoast Chamber of Commerce
I'm going to be honest, I want to play WoD - but every single character page I look at is very special snowflake. Is this normal in WoD? The soundtracks turn me off. So emo. So nu-metal. Is there actually good RP on WoD?
Oh yeah, by the way - I have never played a WoD game but I know some stuff...

RE: NOLA 2: Back in the Vieux
@Ganymede Regardless of that particular racial faux pas, damn that was a good 90s film.

RE: Minitatures
Do you find it relaxing? I am not a delicate handed person in the slightest. I worry I will ruin the miniature within .02 seconds of having it and the paints out. I like the gold accents on the last one!

RE: Good TV
Seemed like a very good show but I couldn't get through the second episode because I was bawling uncontrollably. Some things just hit a little different when you get older and go 'Damn I been through some shit.'

RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)
@Auspice Fuck that, I have a chewing necklace like a baby would, haha. I chew my nails fiercely. It's bad, bad, bad. If I'm not chewing, I'm overeating, or overspending, or other impulse disorder shit, so it's good to be able to channel those feelings into SOMETHING.

RE: The Work Thread
I work in food service, my boss is going through menopause, everyone I work with is either a dipshit or a constant no-call, no-show (or just no-show), and we are busier than ever. I am the only one who shows up when needed, comes in early, stays late. I have established myself as that responsible employee and now I can't turn back, FUCK.

RE: Tastes Less Savory
@Wretched I think Poppy Z. Brite counts. It's been a looong time since I read a book by her. I should try again.
@GreenFlashlight She also wrote a short story in the Crow compilation story/poetry book Shattered Lives & Broken Dreams. That one was a lot more palatable to me than some of her other ideas.
I also coincidentally really recommend that book. I read it so many times in high school.
@Coin I'm trying to remember if I've ever read John Shirley. That name sounds really familiar, but I'm going to look at some of his stuff when I get off work today!

Tastes Less Savory
Where are my splatterpunk fans out there? My gory speculative fiction peeps? ...People that read American Psycho or Guts by Chucky P without puking?
Post me your favorite books, please. And remind me to read In The Miso Soup.

RE: RL Sads
@Macha Thank you for opening up to us. I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts right now. Big hugs and good vibes for you.

RE: Pacing in Ares Scenes
I would really prefer quick scenes in real time. I've tried to do scenes over multiple days and it killed my interest in the last game I tried to do that in, I think.

RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)
I just tend to say 'Shut the fuck, I'm a stupid dick' about most things. Now when my friends who love and care about me say, 'Yeah, quit being a stupid bitch' it makes me laugh because I know they don't feel that way.
actual compliments are so much harder to take

RE: RL Sads
@Wizz I would point blank tell her that if she wants to have a relationship with you, even a friendly one, she needs to her mental health checked out.
'Point blank' isn't the right word here to use. You can obviously go with something much more gentle. But I'm going to make a guess and say that your ex is probably very attention seeking, especially whereas you're concerned, and frankly - you don't need it. You have your own mental health to worry about.
Some people have shit lives, some people have shit mental health, but they can't live there forever and play the victim card, whether intentionally or unintentionally. They have to unfuck themselves with professonal help a lot of the time. It's hard but it's worth it.
Source: Shitty person with shitty mental health and a shitty life who got unfucked. I'm not as shitty anymore. Many people shut me out and I understand why now.

RE: Vietnam War MUSH
I think that games which involve RL-wars are usually a bad look. Not to mention with the Vietnam War, our government did some truly awful things to their people and our own people.
If you need more reference, Google Agent Orange. Or don't.
