It is less my time zone and more the fact that I am clearly an old lady who can't function without a solid night's sleep.
I feel bad asking for accommodation when I am making the CHOICE to leave early.

Being able to play my character's job.
I love playing my character's job.
Also, PrPs being tweaked to start early enough so I can join the WHOLE thing. I get that it's not going to be always possible and I'll NEVER ask for the accommodation. From my heart forever I'll appreciate the accommodation tonight.
(even if it means Norwood's skin comes off, it's fine.)
100% empathize with what you're saying @Auspice.
If I KNOW everyone at a gathering I can be a total social butterfly. I'll pop around, talk, whatever. Throw even one "new" person into the mix and I withdraw instantly.
It drives my husband crazy.
Parent Teacher Conferences today.
One of my boys walked up to me during work time after checking the schedule looking very confused.
Boy:"Mrs. Are you seriously staying until 8:00 tonight?"
Me: "Yeeep."
Boy: "And probably after so that you can clean things up."
Me: "Yeeep."
Boy: "Dang."
When I utterly misread/misunderstand/misremember something and it's pretty obvious I'm posing out of my ass but instead of rolling IC being nudged to go, "...are you sure about that?" and letting me fix my mistake.
I cannot say how much I appreciate this.
Sadly, this one gave me a diamond ring. >:|
I bought a FAMILY SIZE bag of DoubleStuff Oreos.
I ate 5 of them.
Today I went to get some more and they were ALL GONE. THERE IS ONLY ONE OTHER PERSON IN THIS HOUSE.
People can take my barony from my cold dead fingers. I have zero desire to advance Clement into a higher ranked house. If it ever does advance it will be under three next Baroness.
Man, I get violently ill even thinking about tampons (I must be allergic to something in them, cuz within five minutes I get dizzy and sick to my stomach, same as any metal but surgical steel earrings.)
People are stupid.
I have a fever. This fever brings two major side effects. Either I am as cold as any day while standing in the snow, or I'm sweating through my clothing.
M6 white kitty is the same. She cuddles if we gave a blanket over us, or she will sit on the far side of husband's laptop. If we twitch she is gone like lightning.
My husband is TERRIBLE at driving in snow.
Staring at the weather and praying the forecast will be off by a few hours either way. Either snow early afternoon and then clear up by midnight or snow at 2 am.
Just let my plane get off the ground.
That moment of panic when you finish washing the dishes then realize that you can't find your wedding ring.
(I found it, but was on the verge of full panic attack - racing heart, labored breathing, tunnel vision, etc. - before. Thank God for my husband keeping his cool.)
My principal just told me that we had 110 kids out today. (Our school has about 400 kiddos all told) Now, GRANTED, it's also flu season and we're getting our asses kicked by it. So maybe HALF of those are flu/genuine sickness related. So that leaves 55 kiddos that just didn't come to school because of weather.
Delayed starts are silly.
Upside, my kiddos got to watch The Magic School Bus (volcanoes) and that was fun.
We should stop using timeliness as a factor when calculating absences so that kids can take their time getting to school in bad weather. -- This is a school by school decision. Every one I have worked at has requested we do not do attendance on bad weather days for 30 minutes after the "start" time. (In Arizona this was when it rained which made my Colorado grown butt laugh till I realized they all had road tires and had ZERO traction.)
We should not tie school funding to attendance and other factors that can be affected by bad weather. -- What would we tie it to? Honestly curious. I have some ideas, but I'd like to know your thoughts.
We should let the teachers figure out what the best practices are based on their location. -- This already happens at the district level. Each district independently sets their own policies for bad weather days.
We should be spending more money for public education and reject the idea of vouchers. -- I do agree with this.
